View fro the balcony was amazing
Room is very very small.
Eider peak view is fantastic! It worths asking for a room with balcony. Perfect location.
Very central in Grindelwald. Comfortable beds and reasonably clean. Reasonably modern TV that accepted HDMI to connect Chromecast so that kids could enjoy their cartoons. Parking was available for free, but we were lucky to get a slot directly in front of the house (which are only a few), no idea how is parking in high season.
If the price tag was around $80 per night, then everything described below would not be a big deal. But it was $250. Tiny. For an occupancy of 4 this was advertised as two interconnected hotel rooms, one double and one twin. This was actually one smallish hotel room along with a tiny shoe-box. The "twin" part had no bathroom, no table and only a chair and a small wardrobe, which was blocked by one of the beds. The "double" part had a tiny table and a chair along with a bed and this took all space so that there was hardly any space to open a suitcase. Cheap finish. Pretty much every element of the finish was cheap. Carpets. Plastic bathroom stuff. Lots of decor elements in need of refurbishment. Lack of any utensils. Beds and basic furniture apart, there were 4 towels (for 4 people), 1 bottle of liquid soap at the basin and 1 bottle of liquid shampoo in the shower, an attached hair drier and a TV. Fridge, complementary water, kettle, glasses , brochures, notepad, pen, anything at all? None. Literally nothing else. Breakfast. The breakfast itself was reasonable, but then again, not for $250. One had to order in advance, which is fine as it reduces waste, but then 4 pieces of cold meat meant literally 4 slices of one sort of cold meat. A typical hotel buffet will feature at least some choice. On the plus side, cheese was plentiful and so was milk and coffee! Although the hosts were generally good, at breakfast they served two parties arriving after us before we even got a word with them (apparently they were preparing for 4 of us, but they could have said that). WiFi. It was strong and fast when it had internet connection. The router kept loosing connection to outbound services for 1 min in 10. This does not really work for streaming videos. The solution for us was to use 4G/LTE which had perfect coverage and speed, but this might not work for those with usage limits. We did not need a lift, but if you would, there is none.
Location was nice. There are a lot of nice hotels on this same street.
Shower was very small and ceilings in our room were very low. They did not take American Express. Room was very small.
