Night- and Morningwalks are included and with our Guide James they have been really great! You have a great wilderness experience staying here, that is for sure! I would also recommend the Tram ride, a great 1,5h experience up in the trees! We’ve seen the Tapirs couple of times and also a lot of frogs, a Viper snake, ant eater, Tucans and lots of other birds! Even though the room and restaurant wasn’t exactly as expected, I would recommend the stay, we came for the wildlife / nature and this is what you can get here really good! Also all the staff was great, very friendly and welcoming!!
The (Superior) room wasn’t really superior and it wasn’t really clean. Not worth the upgrade price! Sure bad luck but us kept a cockroach busy during the night, constantly flying against the Moskito net, trying to escape (from the inside). The dinner and breakfast was good, although you need to preorder and the breakfast buffet on the pictures wasn’t available!
Fantastic lodge in the rainforest with the added benefit of an evening night walk and a dawn walk. The cabin was lovely with an outside porch where you could sit and listen to the sounds of the forest, although if you leave your shoes and coats outside check them for insects and frogs before putting them on! The night and dawn while with Jonathan were a great introduction to Costa Rica as it was our first night en-route to Tortuguero.
The restaurant food was expensive and very poor quality for lunch - in fact it was inedible. Dinner was a little better but not great. Unfortunately it's difficult to eat anywhere else without travelling and it's a shame because it could improve the whole experience to 5 star.
Included in the price is a guided evening walk and morning walk which allowed us to see some amazing creatures and trees and plants.
The noise of lorries going up and down the major highway was dreadful and disturbed us during the night. It is set up to accommodate day visitors for the canopy tours rather than for the overnight guests. We were the only people staying there, and were asked to order dinner and eat early so that the staff could go home. We felt it was very overpriced for fairly basic facilities and the noise from the road and we cut short our stay.
The staff, especially Jonathan, were wonderful. Location was paradise.
Tapirus Lodge was wonderful! The setting was amazingly beautiful with lots to do, although we were there just to photograph wildlife. The food was high quality and well- prepared. The rooms smelled nice and clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Jonathan was our guide and he was fabulous, really going out of his way to help us. I can't wait to go back again with more family and try the tram and the zipline!
