We were only there for one night and didn't have time to look around but very pleased with every thing.
We had such an amazing time at St. Andrew’s Escape. The owners were so welcoming and thoughtful. We absolutely loved wandering through their gardens and enjoying the spa. The stars came out in the night sky, which was an added bonus.
Perfect location in the most idyllic grounds. The room was immaculate and exceptionally quiet. Every requirement was catered for and the breakfast was fabulous, we were even invited to pick fresh oranges from the trees! (They were beautiful incidentally). Mandy was friendly and welcoming, she showed us around on arrival but then left us to our own devices. We didn't feel rushed in the morning and were able to enjoy a leisurely breakfast and spend time with the gorgeously fluffy resident cat, Paris. Thank you for exceeding our expectations, we will definitely be back!
The location and the environemenf of the bnb
It was just the perfect spot for us. Very convenient to my twin who lives 5 mins away. I loved the privacy, peace and quiet and the fact I could sleep in a separate closed off area from my husband’s snoring. Beds were very comfortable and they had the best shower ever!!! I love having s separate toilet, very civilised. A pity we didn’t get to meet the owners, couldn’t even work out where the ‘reception’ was but didn’t matter in the end as we had such a full on 4 days of family celebrations
We arrived late at night and the cottage was absolutely freezing. I think they could do with some electric blankets on the beds. The concrete floor was unbearably cold but fortunately my twin had a spare pair of ugg boots and the fluffy throw rug on the couch made a good blanket. The kitchenette was very handy but annoying having to take the dishes into the bathroom to wash. No dishwasher??? And a full length mirror in the main area for those sleeping in there would be a great addition. Just little things but otherwise a really comfortable place and I’d definitely stay there again.
Surrounded by orchards, St Andrews Escape boasts a hot tub, free Wi-Fi and accommodation with an outdoor area offering lovely garden and mountain views. Guests can enjoy bicycles and kayaks for rent. Enjoy an outdoor meal under the covered gazebo area. BBQ facilities are available and the guest lounge offers a fireplace and wonderful views of Te Mata Peak. All rooms provide heating. St Andrews Escape is in close proximity to Hawke's Bay's many wineries. Hastings town centre is 5 minutes’ drive and Te Mata Peak is 15 minutes’ drive away.
