Cons:I reserved a room at the Courtyard in Katy because of the location and great reviews online. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was extremely disappointed to learn that my hotel room had been given away to someone else. I had worked a full day and then traveled 5 hours to the hotel. The front desk gave me a basic letter from the general manager which lacked details and a true apology explaining what had occurred. The letter did offer to provide a free room for the night at a different Courtyard. I would also like to note that I asked the front desk if I could speak with the manager. However, the front desk told me that the letter had been written by the manager and that they weren't available to meet with me. I attempted to get a room at the other hotels in the area. However I was unable to find a hotel with an open room in the area of my morning meeting because of the late notice. Thus, I had no choice but to travel 20 minutes further into Houston for the new hotel. This unplanned change added an additional 45 minutes onto an extremely long day and would mean that I had to leave even earlier in the morning to make up for the additional travel time in morning rush hour. While the free room was appreciative. The fact that I wasn't given prior notice left me in a difficult position with no options to adjust my schedule. The fact remains I should have received a phone call or email updating me on the situation instead of a typed paragraph which lacked a true apology.
Pros:I loved everything about this hotel! Friendly service. Walking distance to Katy Mills Mall and dining options. Loved the modern decor. Very clean and Starbucks in the lobby is a plus. Close freeway access. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel.
