Summary of reviews
Guests say
Guests overwhelmingly appreciate the hotel's friendly and attentive staff, who go above and beyond to assist with travel, transportation, and local recommendations. The location is frequently mentioned as convenient, close to the city center, and offering beautiful views of Kigali, though some note the approach involves a dirt road or steep hill. Breakfast receives positive remarks for its quality and variety. Some guests mention small or dated rooms, minor maintenance issues, and limited amenities, but these are outweighed by the value, service, and overall experience.

Wonderful
Shahidah, Dec 2025
I had a wonderful stay. The staff was attentive and friendly. They went out their way to assist me. The hotel is centrally located, a quick drive or 15 minute walk to town. While the room was a bit dated, it had two things that are very important to me, good hot showers and WiFi. I would definitely recommend step down as a good low/mid level budget option. Would stay again.
