Rooms at the Volcano Lodge are unique in that each room has a secluded, private terrace with a view of the Arenal Volcano. Additionally, every room gets a desk, coffee maker with Costa Rican coffee, and cable television. Each room features custom furnishings and a cozy rustic feeling with modern influences.

Dining options are influenced by the surroundings. The Sura Bar and Bistro offers a traditional Costa Rican menu with beautiful views of the volcano as well as waterfalls. Sura is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Arenal Lobby Bar is a great place to catch sporting events while enjoying great drinks, good music, and bar snacks. The Thermal Forest Wet Bar: El Chonete has swim-up bar seating as well as dry seating so guests can enjoy a nice cocktail in the thermal waters of the pools. There is ambient lighting, music, secluded pools of varying temperatures.

The Volcano Lodge Hotel and Thermal Experience is completely unique in its proximity to the Arenal Volcano which creates natural hot springs that guests get to soak in and unwind. There is also the opportunity to swim at the base of the La Fortuna Waterfall, go horseback riding through the rainforest, and even watersports like water rafting, canyoneering, and spelunking. Pros (+) The hotel is set in stunning scenery and the grounds are fantastic it has been very well thought through. Very friendly helpful staff and easy to find. They served some delicious cocktails and they were always made to perfection! I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.
Cons (-) The only thing that let it down was That the food wasn't really that great. We had different steaks both nights and both times they were over cooked and tough. The breakfast is a buffet and again could just use a bit more attention.
