Overview

Situated in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina is The 1927 Lake Lure Inn & Spa, a historic hotel that has been in business for almost 90 years. The property overlooks Lake Lure with some rooms having lake views. The locations isn’t far from Asheville with all of its attractions so travelers can spend the day exploring the neighboring city and then relax in this peaceful quiet inn.

Guests can choose to book rooms, suites, cabins, or spots at the motor lodge annex. There are 69 rooms and three cabins on offer. Those who choose to stay in the main inn will find décor that is reminiscent of the traditional style in a 1920s-era inn. There are some rooms that can be booked with jetted tubs. All rooms have flatscreen TVs with cable, free WiFi, work desks, and in-room climate control.

The 1927 Lake Lure Inn & Spa does have an on-site restaurant. The Veranda Restaurant provides fine dining either in the Tanner Dining Room or out on the Veranda Terrace. Guests will find the Moose & Goose Lounge on the property also. During special events when the restaurant is closed to the public, all menu items will be available in the lounge. Guests can enjoy a Sunday Brunch hosted every weekend from 10 am to 2 pm also.

The 1927 Lake Lure Inn & Spa is in an area with many outdoor activities to take part in. Travelers can get out and go rowing or canoeing right on the property. The property also includes an outdoor pool and outdoor tennis courts, as well as spa treatment rooms.

Pros (+) The location.
Cons (-) Since we booked through Kayak we were automatically put into the motorlodge area which was dirty and poor. We were not even offered a room in the Inn even though they were available. After explaining some issues we had in our room the front desk did move us to a room in the Inn. The Inn was much nicer. However, they were preparing to close for the season so workers were cleaning, refinishing floor...

Pros (+) The only saving grace was the staff.
Cons (-) The bathrooms are glorified closets. If u take a shower at night, there is no light so u have to leave curtain open. There is a step down into the bathroom that you WILL trip over, fall or stub your toe. We also slept on top of the covers and the pool closes at 7.
