Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent service and facilities. Great staff.
Cons: bloody mosquitoes
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We liked absolutely everything, from the welcoming hosts, the friendly staff, the joyful dogs, the delicious meals, the comfy huts to the peaceful walks along the beach and dunes.
Good 7.9
Pros: Wonderful location. Endless beach just for you. Excellent choice of activities. Awesome staff. Food quality and cooking.
Cons: The drinking water in the room is paid. With no alternatives for water shopping we think this should be complimentary as in all kenya locations we had been. Although food is top quality and top cooking the quantity is sometimes a bit reduced. We think it could be a bit more generous. Overall we must conclude this is a very good choice in Lamu.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This was our second trip to Kizingo and we fell in love with it all over again. Can’t wait to plan our next visit.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Superb, delicate food. Friendly, attentive, helpful staff. Beautiful, clean 'bandas' that create a natural, raw luxury. Deserted white sand beaches, dunes, sea kayaking and billions of stars. Overall, a splendid, secluded getaway.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: The staff were excellent and very friendly. Tom was exceptional as he always served everyone with a smile. The owner Mary Joe was very accommodating and caring. The food was delicious and the chef accommodated any special requests. We stayed at the Family tent with our two teenage girls. The tent was at the end of the property and the girls had a room upstairs. There was an amazing constant breeze from the ocean that we experienced in the tent as there were open areas. The tip of Lamu island meets the Indian ocean and there is beautiful sunset every evening. This property has only basic amenities you need for camping so its a perfect place to detox from your phone and become one with nature. You will literally feel you are sleeping outside. We would recommend to anyone who wants a secluded place.
Cons: The wind from the ocean was very strong at night and the upstairs floor shook constantly through the night. The girls described it as sleeping through a tornado. Perhaps the second needs more enforcement. The sheets were very old and stained and the pillows very clumpy, would be worth getting new ones.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Location. Food. Service. Snorkeling/dolphin swimming trip. Friendliness. The Banda itself was very comfortable (particularly the hammock). A fabulous paradise for relaxation.
Cons: It was very hot at night, so it would have been nice if there were a ceiling fan. (Although this may not be possible given power constraints).
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lots of very interesting books to read and very serene surroundings. Very quiet and peaceful
Cons: The pillows were hard and bulky

Excellent 9.6
Pros: Just awesome
Good 7.5
Pros: The location is excellent and the accommodation comfortable and some rooms are excellent. We were in the new block of rooms (I’ve previously stayed in older rooms) and the rooms didn’t feel entirely finished or snagging completed.
Cons: The food was not particularly exciting and there were lots of things regularly not available which were on their menu. We also found it pretty tired in places
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The restaurant was good and conveniently placed. The Rome were spacious and very comfortable.
Cons: WiFi is an issue when you need to contact the office.
Good 7.9
Pros: The resort is private, room is big, got nice beach and sunset view. Most Staffs are friendly.
Cons: The food in the restaurant is bad, seafood not very fresh not good quality.one of the dinner they served the steam vegetables which look like from the night before! Mostly of the time we had to go out and eat except breakfast.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The staff location architecture and the area
Cons: The price is too high with nothing much to the name
Excellent 10.0
Pros: All facilities are perfect! The staff is always available to help you satisfying your needs and make you comfortable. The service to and from the airport is quite punctual. Food is fresh, proposed dishes are interesting and carefully prepared.
Cons: Nothing.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The property was fantastic, clean, beautifully decorated and facilitated.
Cons: Internet connection was slow.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Subira House was very central and easy to get to. It was a great place - large rooms, large ensuite and great outdoor spaces to sit and relax. Lovely well kept courtyard and gardens. The staff were fantastic and the evening meal superb - the best meal we had in Lamu. Breakfasts were also great and well presented. Would highly recommend.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The house is beautifully designed and maintained, and the staff are super friendly and professional. The location, right behind the fort, allows for easy access to everything. The breakfast was delicious, as well as the dinner (not included).
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Subia House was the most comfortable and special place we've stayed any where and we travel a lot. The House itself was very special and had been remodeled by Christina and Paul with tender loving care. Food was excellent , hosts were gracious , and location perfect for old town Lamu.
Cons: nothing.

Pros: The beach and views
Cons: Service was lackluster though the reception was good.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I loved the staff, they were so friendly and so helpful, I have definitely made friends there. The views were to die for, the hotel was even better than I expected. I love the village concept where every room has its own area to relax and it’s literally like you’re in little house. I love that it’s an eco friendly hotel so everything is made from nature. I love loved loved it!
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9.0
Pros: A little piece of heaven! This was a lovely place, with a beautiful beach, quiet and relaxing. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: I can't really fault it.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Loved the fresh fruit and homemade granola. Staff was super
Okay 4.2
Pros: The African staff are friendly
Cons: The attitude and demeanour of owner of the place. She is so rude and will move you from place to place.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The room was absolutely beautiful. Immaculately designed and presented and whistle-clean. The staff were welcoming, gentle, knowledgable. The food was truly delicious. The whole experience was a joy. A truly exceptional place to stay. I recommend it wholeheartedly.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The location, cocktails, food, sunsets, Rachel and everything else!
Cons: Nothing!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: This property is for people that want a rustic, authentic, outdoor feel stay. No air conditioning, no ceiling fans. It’s right on the beach and has several covered areas to lounge on the beach. Don’t let the rustic/authentic look fool you, the food is amazing! They have a wood fired oven they make pizza’s in that are some of the best I’ve ever had. The seafood pizza is unbelievable. They also have a short dinner menu that is fantastic. I had the grilled Calamari and it was unlike any Calamari I’ve ever had. It was out of this would. You have to try their Dawa drink at the bar. Much better than the ones we tried at other larger resorts. Eunice greeted us and made us feel very welcome. The entire staff are very friendly and helpful. I went there with a group of 9 and everyone had an amazing experience. Even if you decide to stay in a more posh/modern hotel like resort, you simply must go to the Diamond for the food, drink, and experience. Thank you Eunice for a wonderful time.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location on the beach, good food and drinks and super friendly staff. Simple accommodation but everything you need.

Good 7.5
Pros: Nice airy collection of rooms and terraces
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: One of the staff members is quite nice and willing to boil water as there is NO HOT WATER. The other staff member when asked for hot water said there were no matches. Completely ridiculous response, seems to think lying to me about no matches would be credible.
Cons: The description does not mention no HOT WATER, very expensive for the quality. The place is filthy and rundown. The pictures are a lie, it no longer looks like that. No maintenance has been done for years. One staff person is surly - refused to boil water by claiming no matches, refused to come where I ate dinner to walk me back but lied to the person who called and said he was coming. There is nothing to recommend this establishment.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: It is awesome there, they have a nice pool and nice roof top
Cons: The roosters right next to my room
Good 7.0
Pros: The staff were great and the hotel was in a nice central location. Staying in Lamu Town itself is quite a full-on experience and the hotel was a good little oasis.
Cons: There was no aircon which would have been good given the heat!
Okay 4.0
Pros: Nothing the pool was dirty
Cons: The pool was bad
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The breakfast was really healthy and sweet. Carol is the best host, she is friendly and works to understand your needs and goes out of the way to met them. it was a great stay. id recommend. I LOVED THE POOL.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Lovely staff, nice pool area, good location in Lamu Town, and good value for money.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: 1. Carol who was our host was the most helpful. She welcomed us with delicious mango juice (must try in Lamu during mango season) and introduced us to guides and boat captains who can show us around town. 2. Loved the sitting spaces - perfect for reading a book 3. Vegetarian dinner well cooked! 4. Small (but deep) swimming pool great to escape the heat
Cons: 1. I shared a room with a friend. We wished that the attached bathroom had a door instead of just a curtain. 2. The room and the property needs some paint/refurbishment but I think they are planning to do it already.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Proximity to the port and major tourist attractions. Very close to the market and general community that made it easy to immerse oneself in the culture. Jannat House provided the services of a 5 star hotel with the local experience. Also, wonderful, friendly staff!
Cons: Our room neighbored a chicken keeper whose rooster would crow very early in the morning. The noise was intolerable, in spite of the general business of the location
Good 6.0
Pros: It is in Lamu town so you get to know the people from there Love to slide in the donkey kaka to the market
Cons: Is is 2.5km from the beach(Shela) U have to ASK for everything towel, toilet paper ex A lot of steps to your room and breakfast aria Forget about maintenance
