Pros: We went there with my family visiting me from France. The place is a little oasis in Lamu Town. Christina and her husband are really amazing! The staff is great, rooms nice and clean and breakfast is delicious. The decoration is also a great asset! Highly recommend

Excellent 10.0
Pros: This was our second trip to Kizingo and we fell in love with it all over again. Can’t wait to plan our next visit.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Location. Food. Service. Snorkeling/dolphin swimming trip. Friendliness. The Banda itself was very comfortable (particularly the hammock). A fabulous paradise for relaxation.
Cons: It was very hot at night, so it would have been nice if there were a ceiling fan. (Although this may not be possible given power constraints).
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lots of very interesting books to read and very serene surroundings. Very quiet and peaceful
Cons: The pillows were hard and bulky
Good 7.9
Pros: Wonderful location. Endless beach just for you. Excellent choice of activities. Awesome staff. Food quality and cooking.
Cons: The drinking water in the room is paid. With no alternatives for water shopping we think this should be complimentary as in all kenya locations we had been. Although food is top quality and top cooking the quantity is sometimes a bit reduced. We think it could be a bit more generous. Overall we must conclude this is a very good choice in Lamu.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: The staff were excellent and very friendly. Tom was exceptional as he always served everyone with a smile. The owner Mary Joe was very accommodating and caring. The food was delicious and the chef accommodated any special requests. We stayed at the Family tent with our two teenage girls. The tent was at the end of the property and the girls had a room upstairs. There was an amazing constant breeze from the ocean that we experienced in the tent as there were open areas. The tip of Lamu island meets the Indian ocean and there is beautiful sunset every evening. This property has only basic amenities you need for camping so its a perfect place to detox from your phone and become one with nature. You will literally feel you are sleeping outside. We would recommend to anyone who wants a secluded place.
Cons: The wind from the ocean was very strong at night and the upstairs floor shook constantly through the night. The girls described it as sleeping through a tornado. Perhaps the second needs more enforcement. The sheets were very old and stained and the pillows very clumpy, would be worth getting new ones.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Superb, delicate food. Friendly, attentive, helpful staff. Beautiful, clean 'bandas' that create a natural, raw luxury. Deserted white sand beaches, dunes, sea kayaking and billions of stars. Overall, a splendid, secluded getaway.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We liked absolutely everything, from the welcoming hosts, the friendly staff, the joyful dogs, the delicious meals, the comfy huts to the peaceful walks along the beach and dunes.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent service and facilities. Great staff.
Cons: bloody mosquitoes

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff was amazing.
Cons: Too far from California
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff was very accommodating with anything I needed
Okay 4.0
Pros: The breakfast was the biggest disappointment. It is now served buffet style which is not befitting a 5 star hotel and guests have to request being served at their table. When requested the food was served at the table but it was cold and it was clearly evident that the bacon and sausage had been cooked a long time earlier. On several previous visits the breakfast was one of the highlights of the day. When questioned I was told it is only buffet when they are busy but there appeared to be a lot of staff who were not fully utilised.
Cons: I am pleased that they were busy whilst I stayed, unlike previous visits when there were few other guests. However, standards have fallen sharply so it is possible I may not return. The location is good but the pool was very busy and noisy and I am not certain that all the users were residents.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff were great at helping us curate our stay and activities. The resort is beautiful and well maintained.
Cons: The wifi wasn’t consistent and didn’t work well in the rooms.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Amazing atmosphere and facilities
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The whole place was amazing. The pool area is like nothing else. Very classy.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Great ambiance, food, hospitality and other facilities. Would come back.
Cons: Wifi did not work in the room. There was a day a large group of non hotel guests were allowed to use the pool facilities, this was highly inappropriate for paying hotel guests and our privacy and also not appropriate for social distancing measures during covid times.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The massage was an overwelming experience :)

Excellent 9.0
Cons: Our time was short
Good 7.0
Pros: What a wonderful place to stay right on the beach. We absolutely loved it. The location and sunsets are spectacular. The staff and management were so accommodating and kind. They borrowed a beautiful cot for our baby along with a mosquito net and set up a fan for him. Highly recommend the seafood pizza too! Thank you for everything Diamond.
Excellent 8.0
Cons: Nice place to wind down. Quiet, clean and great clean beach.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location on the beach, good food and drinks and super friendly staff. Simple accommodation but everything you need.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Loved the fresh fruit and homemade granola. Staff was super
Excellent 9.0
Pros: A little piece of heaven! This was a lovely place, with a beautiful beach, quiet and relaxing. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: I can't really fault it.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I loved the staff, they were so friendly and so helpful, I have definitely made friends there. The views were to die for, the hotel was even better than I expected. I love the village concept where every room has its own area to relax and it’s literally like you’re in little house. I love that it’s an eco friendly hotel so everything is made from nature. I love loved loved it!
Cons: Nothing
Okay 5.4
Pros: The place is not bad if you are looking for a rest place.
Cons: The restaurant and bar is overpriced. In our case they send a boat to pick up us for 10€ and they didn't tell us which we had to pay that amount. You better take another boat to go there, There are hundreds of them. No hot water, there is no energie from 21:00 until 9:00. There is no key for the room.

Good 7.0
Pros: staff was very helpful (they let us borrow a standing fan as the ceiling fan alone in the room isn’t enough for the to be airy). They have a pool but I wonder how often they clean it. Nice breakfast but it can be repetitive. The whole house itself is very nice and classic with sitting or lounging open verandas on third floors.
Cons: It’s quite a walk from the seafront to Jannat house, and you’ll be passing through small alley ways with stores selling Meera or Khat (locals chew these leaves to get high). Every afternoon when we were there, the pool was being used by locals. A lot of them. it’s nice to see everyone enjoy the pool but I’d question its cleanliness at times. Verdict: I’d stay here again
Poor 1.0
Pros: Carol who seems to run the place on her own! Was great very friendly helpful and accommodating. She also cooks a good breakfast and evening meal.
Cons: The hotel is not like the photos! It’s very run down, the shower curtain is tied to itself! The beds dip in the middle and rooms are hot not great for a good sleep. The saving grace is it has a pool but even that seemed to have a film of oil over the top! My advice would be to stay in Shela and visit the old town.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The best part of the place is the manager, Caroline. She is fully in charge of the place and pays attention to all details. The owners are really blessed to have her
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Really nice accommodation, I can recommend it. Clean, quiet, good breakfast. Tour guide Chief was amazing.
Cons: In rooms there is no trash bins.
Good 6.0
Pros: Pool was great for the kids. There are a number of terraces which we enjoyed, especially in the evening with the breeze. Friendly, helpful staff and great breakfast.
Cons: Our family room didn't have ceiling fans which made the nights hot and mosquito-y, although there were mosquito nets. The whole place needs a lick up paint/bit of an update, but can't hold that against it with the price / Covid times.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The owner of the place was there to greet and assure guests and the manager Carol was excellent and ready to offer assistance to ensure an amazing stay.
Cons: The room cleaning was not done daily and change of beddings.
Excellent 8.2
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: One of the staff members is quite nice and willing to boil water as there is NO HOT WATER. The other staff member when asked for hot water said there were no matches. Completely ridiculous response, seems to think lying to me about no matches would be credible.
Cons: The description does not mention no HOT WATER, very expensive for the quality. The place is filthy and rundown. The pictures are a lie, it no longer looks like that. No maintenance has been done for years. One staff person is surly - refused to boil water by claiming no matches, refused to come where I ate dinner to walk me back but lied to the person who called and said he was coming. There is nothing to recommend this establishment.
