This was our second trip to Kizingo and we fell in love with it all over again. Can’t wait to plan our next visit.
Location. Food. Service. Snorkeling/dolphin swimming trip. Friendliness. The Banda itself was very comfortable (particularly the hammock). A fabulous paradise for relaxation.
It was very hot at night, so it would have been nice if there were a ceiling fan. (Although this may not be possible given power constraints).
Lots of very interesting books to read and very serene surroundings. Very quiet and peaceful
The pillows were hard and bulky
Wonderful location. Endless beach just for you. Excellent choice of activities. Awesome staff. Food quality and cooking.
The drinking water in the room is paid. With no alternatives for water shopping we think this should be complimentary as in all kenya locations we had been. Although food is top quality and top cooking the quantity is sometimes a bit reduced. We think it could be a bit more generous. Overall we must conclude this is a very good choice in Lamu.
The staff were excellent and very friendly. Tom was exceptional as he always served everyone with a smile. The owner Mary Joe was very accommodating and caring. The food was delicious and the chef accommodated any special requests. We stayed at the Family tent with our two teenage girls. The tent was at the end of the property and the girls had a room upstairs. There was an amazing constant breeze from the ocean that we experienced in the tent as there were open areas. The tip of Lamu island meets the Indian ocean and there is beautiful sunset every evening. This property has only basic amenities you need for camping so its a perfect place to detox from your phone and become one with nature. You will literally feel you are sleeping outside. We would recommend to anyone who wants a secluded place.
The wind from the ocean was very strong at night and the upstairs floor shook constantly through the night. The girls described it as sleeping through a tornado. Perhaps the second needs more enforcement. The sheets were very old and stained and the pillows very clumpy, would be worth getting new ones.
