Top tips for finding cheap flights to Kenya

  • Enter your preferred departure airport and travel dates into the search form above to unlock the latest Kenya flight deals.
  • Most flights from Canada to Kenya include a layover at a major European airport. Due to its economic and historic relationship with the European Union, many cheap flights to Kenya are available from European countries such as the UK, Germany and the Netherlands.
  • While some resorts and national parks in Kenya accept U.S. dollars, in most places you will be required to pay with cash, using the Kenyan shilling. Be aware that it is easier and more favourable to exchange U.S. dollars, British pounds or euros in Kenya.
  • Kenya is mostly a cash-driven society, even though some of the high-end resorts and hotels accept credit cards. You can use your credit card to withdraw cash from ATMs, which are readily available in airports and in the major cities such as Nairobi and Mombasa.
  • If you are planning a trip to Kenya's famous Diani beach, consider flying into Ukunda Airport (UKA), which is located approximately 3 km from Diani beach. Air Kenya offers daily connections to and from Wilson Airport (WIL) in Nairobi.
  • To visit Tsavo East National Park, consider flying into Moi International Airport (MOI) in Mombasa, which is closer to the park than Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) in Nairobi. You can then travel to the park by car. Tsavo East is about 3h 30min away from Mombasa.
  • To get to Malindi's marine reserve and Watamu beach, you can either drive along the Coastal Highway from Mombasa or fly directly into Malindi Airport (MYD) from Nairobi.
  • The majority of travelers from Canada arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), Kenya's main international entry point. The NBO Airport is perhaps the best airport to fly into if you want to explore more of Kenya's well-known towns and cities, including Kisumu, Nakuru, Ruiru, Kiambu, Thika, and Limuru.
  • Although Moi International Airport (MBA) is an alternative airport with regular flights to Kenya from Canada, the majority of commercial travellers opt to fly into NBO Airport. NBO Airport is a preferred airport for travelers on official commercial trips due to its proximity to Nairobi City, which acts as the country's capital and is home to the bulk of Kenya's large businesses' head offices.
  • The Nairobi city centre is accessible through bus number 34, which is run by Citi Hoppa, which departs from the airport's bus terminal located halfway between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The green and yellow color scheme and slightly larger size of the buses make them easier to identify than the common "matatu" buses in Kenya.

The flight was on time and crew were nice, seats were tight and there was entertainment available

It took way too long to diagnose and solve the problem of a broken crew member cabin seat. Though compensation for the volunteer who left the flight was very kind.

Good service, friendly staff. Food was average for airlines and the seats were small.

Worst flight ever. I was suppose to have a 3 1/2 hour layover in Chicago but got to the gate 4 minutes before boarding.

The comfort of the seats was great, the crew eased my child’s anxieties and the fact that I had full cans of my beverage choice was great.

Sat on the ground in Cincinnati for 50 minutes before deplaning

As smooth as you can expect. Some issues with boarding because the previous plane took forever to deplane but overall, a good experience.

A cookie and a soda, packed like sardines, will never be a positive experience. Also, boarded a 5:30 flight at 7:45pm

They cancelled my flight and downgraded me to economy and only gave me $250 for the downgrade

Whenever a passenger purchase a ticket his advantage number should automatically to his information. It's not everyone remember the number. You request for your number and American airline agent say they will email it....and they never email anything and you loose your mileage just because you don't remember your number. It should automatically go your information and associate with your email account at all times

They only gave us 30 minutes to make an international connecting flight. We didn’t make the connection but they did do a good job rebooking us despite the chaos. Our bags didn’t make it back and their process for customer support is pretty bad when it comes to luggage.

My recent experience with ASKY Airlines was disappointing. The check-in process was disorganized, and I was provided with inaccurate information regarding baggage requirements, resulting in unforeseen expenses. Additionally, the ground staff demonstrated a lack of professionalism and appeared insufficiently trained to handle passenger needs effectively. Regrettably, this initial encounter has left me reluctant to consider future travel with the airline.

POSITIVES The hostesses were mostly pleasant, NEGATIVES The full flight wifi was horrible, hardly able to use it. My charger port was not working which made me use my neighbour's port which resulted in an accident which ruined her flight. During dinner, meat ran out when the cart got to us forcing us to eat vegetarian which was not great. We watched everyone around us eating meat. My wifi did not transfer to the second leg of my trip as they promised as they changed the plane. I was thrown off the window seat I booked for the 2nd leg of my journey as they changed planes, all done at my expense. This was not a cheap flight ($2600) which i hurriedly had to book to attend my mother's funeral who passed away suddenly. I was honestly disappointed with the whole saga as I heard Ethiopian Airlines was one of Africa's best.

Checking in wasn't organized, too many so-called diplomats were jumping line while everyone was waiting in line. They should have their own line not to impede on other passengers that was also waiting to be served. We all paid money and there should be no discrimination because everyone's money should have the same value diplomat or not! If they want to give diplomats some special treatment then let them create their own check in desk and not treat other passengers some that are (elderly, some with children, pregnant women) making them stand longer in line than necessary just because people are jumping line 😡

It was an old aircraft, stiff seats almost wooden chairs with thin cushions. Food was ok.

Traveling with Ethiopian is always a good experience. I also enjoy the stay at skylight hotel in Addis

Forgotten Suite inside of the top compartment but went back to ask and they didn’t leave at the lost and found place. Also the checking in was so horrible. I had multi city and one of the passenger saint have visa go go go Dubai. The Ethiopian airlines never had information about requirement for US permanent resident so couldn’t go to Dubai. And when coming back to US we were told we can not use our Addis to Washington ticket and they forced us to get new ticket. Very horrible experience.

i send you separate claim of what happens ,I buy ticketed from you and you said that it is confirmed and shall send the ticket in 24 hrs but you did not send and when we go to Ethiopian air line counter they say it is pending and we dont know why ,and we forced to buy another ticket ,and this all because Ethiopian air lines canceled the return flight from Adi Ababa to Amman, please note that we buy all the tickets through your app and hold you responsible for all loss and discomfort.

It was very bad experience with Ethiopian airlines . The flight was delayed in both ways . On the way coming back one of the crews dropped hot coffee on my whole body and other crew dropped used dirty glasses on top of me . The same crew that dropped hot coffee on me hit me with the food trolley on my knee while I was sleeping . I couldn’t sit properly due to the pain on my knee caused by those irresponsible crews . Very unprofessional airlines

Needs improvement because some of the tvs and charging ports weren’t working

My bag was sent to lost and found. It was taken out of the plane without asking passengers if the bag owner is in the plane. I had valuables in my bag. I am very disappointed at this behaviour

A sandwich and a drink would have been better thank a snack bar...

The flight was great. I like it when airline capitalism give you information. For someone with flight jitters it really helps. And this captain was very cheery and reassuring. I had trouble understanding the head flight attendant because she spoke very fast. But overall staff were very helpful and kind.

The crew members were great. The flight was awesome. But I had trouble getting to any of the movies. I tried over and over. The free wifi though is a bonus which I appreciated. Re comfort I am not telling you anything you don’t know. There is nothing comfortable about air travel any longer. As someone with a back issue I am usually squirming about two hours into any flight. But safety matters most of all to me and I do feel safe with air Canada.

The experience was satisfactory. The plane was full and took awhile to embark and disembark. On a 4 hour flight, there is not much you can do. my return flight was in the very last row on the plane but was adequate.

Flying with Air Canada is still better than the discount airlines like Flair. The seats are more comfortable and the on-board entertainment is better, with each seat having a built in screen and lots of content to watch. Onboard WIFI is also great to have, as well as plugs for charging. I think passengers in general are getting better at not bringing too much luggage onboard, and Air Canada is better at managing this without customers feeling like they are being taken advantage of with extra fees. I have travelled on different airlines and all seem to be loading faster, with fewer people bringing both a carry on and a personal item. Now I just bring one item and it fits under the seat so I don't need to worry about finding a place in the overhead bins. Overall, across the industry, asking customers to pay for carry on baggage is fair because it allows customers to only pay for what they need, and it helps to keep the planes on time. Kudos to Air Canada for its approach - the desired result is achieved without customers feeling that they are being surprised and caught with unexpected extra fees.

Had to cancel flight due to strike. Hope things will be better next August when we will rebook. Very disappointing as it was our 50th wedding anniversary celebration l!

I’ve wasted 7 hours of my time because of the delayed. ;(

The crew were fabulous. The flight was bumpy and I always like the captain to tell me what that is about or my imagination gets carries away.

Overall great. The crews were lovely. The seats are awful. I always emerge with a back ache.

All was good, except my USB charging did not work, so my phone got drained and I could not charge it. Same happened to my neighbour.

A bit more space? Not practical, I know. I felt squished in but part of that could have been the man sitting next to me.

Food was terrible. They ran out of options and gave me a bland undercooked pasta and veggies. Only middle seat was available to select although I paid extra. Baggage delayed at destination. Flight attendants not really helpful.

The plane (Mitsubishi CRJ) felt old, creaking and not very new. The crew was okay. Hot water provision was broken so hot beverages could't be served.

Not bad. We had preboarding tickets but the preboarding was badly managed. We lined up behind all the parents with little kids etc and when we got to the front of the line the attendant deliberately turned away from us and ignored us until I asked to be allowed to go to the gate. She started telling us that we had to wait until I told her we had preboarding then she let us through.

Exit row seat that cost extra to book had a bad monitor marked as out of order, so clearly something they should have fixed.

Everything well done and customer oriented There entertainment system is difficult to navigate

They delayed my flight from Toronto Pearson for one hour and Frankfurt to Abuja for 2HRS, So sad

The aircraft was old, there was no charging sockets, and the seats were narrow and uncomfortable even though I had exit row premium seats.

Very old plan, bad cabin layout and seats, entertainment system would get 95% through a film and then crash and reboot. I wont be using Lufthansa after I return back home, would rather pau more for a better flight arramgement.

All good. Loo’s weren’t great and as clean as i would like.

Was delayed on first leg and missed connection. They would not let me board although I arrived at the gate 5 min before take off. I was delayed 24hrs

The wheelchair service was good. Staff and crew were helpful/supportive. The business of 'being overbooked' ....."you may not be able to travel tonight/we may have to put you in Economy'" was rather unsettling. Even Economy Plus in a MIDDLE seat felt cramped. The seating and experience felt very basic even though I had struggled to pay for extra - Economy Plus.

Waited 3.25 hours in plane only to have the flight cancelled.

This was the second time on BA, food terrible, bathrooms gross,( granted, that was mostly due to the disgusting children urinating all over it)boarding was late and disorganized. No gate issued until last minute st Heathrow, bad system, caused undue stress. Seats were painful, that's what you get for traveling like a poor in economy, right BA? Should have been able to afford business or first class if you want to actually be able to walk upright without back pain after a trip.

Absolutely the worst airline. Can’t find anything positive to say. We were in business which is the same as most airlines coach

When i booked my flight, my ticket shows that i have 2 pieces of luggage allowance. Once i got into the check in, i was informed that i needed to pay extra for my two suitcases, and was put into a very precarious situation, I had to pay close to £200 for my two suitcases and these were not extra burgages, I felt extremely disappointed. In case i never had the kind of money, it meant that i would have missed my flight

The airplane was old. Some things didn’t work out of middle seat was broken. The rest was OK.

The seats in row 31 are terrible and small and uncomfortable. Don't ever sit there. The window seat is so close to the curve of the plane is so annoying. I paid extra for this seat and I hated all 10 hours in it.

The food was pathetic. There wasn't much leg room and recline space for such a long flight. No tea/ coffee for a 2-3 hour connecting flight without purchasing! Really!?
