The bed was comfortable

On arrival, there was no-one at the reception to greet me and the entire hotel appeared to be empty. There was scaffolding all around and rennovation taking place. The restaurant was closed due to this, but it was not mentioned beforehand. I travel for work and rely upon eating in the Hotels where I stay after driving for hours every-day. All of this may have been acceptable but the noise of some plant (heating or conditioning, I do not know) kept me awake most of the night. As proof of my sleepless night, I wrote an e.mail at approx. 2PM to the owner to complain about it. I obviously did not expect an answer then, but in the morning, the lady at the reception told me that she had slept in the same room and had no problems sleeping. I feel that the answer should have been at very least, an apology, and not a statement practically denying that there was a problem and making me feel that my complaint was not important. I paid full price to sleep in this hotel and yet didn't sleep more than 3 hours. The discount of 8€ for the breakfast, to compensate , was a joke and an insult. Very disappointing!

While the rooms were cozy, the breakfast was very nice. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating. It was very clean and a nice departure from staying at huge glamorous hotels. Think of it as a beautiful Gasthaus in Germany.

The grounds were under repair and needed a bit of attention. But the interior was immaculate. I would stay there again.
