Location and grounds, convenience for Central London. Restaurant/lounge area, general cleanliness.
I got what I paid for with the sleeping accommodation. I’ll probably upgrade somewhat next time. A top bunk in a triple stack was an adventure!
Very nice and quiet location in Holland Park. Everything you need (including excellent breakfast spots) is on Kensington High Road, just a nice little walk to the other side of the park. Apart from that, just a basic hostel, ideal for one night. Friendly staff, good vibe among the guests.
Due to road construction works near the hotel, there was no hot water throughout the hotel. The staff knew about it, but offered no compensation whatsoever. Basic hostel, basic comfort, basic lightning.
No hot water nor heating in the room. I got really sick and had to miss my second day of work. The hostel never responded to my complaint email nor did they offered another room. They told me there was no hot water but never did they tell me there was no heating either (with temperatures going negative during the night...). Most of the staff was very disagreeable. Worst experience so far!
There are plenty of positive things to say about this hostel: coffee buffet offered, the bed was very comfortable, the place is charming, the park is lovely, the price is ok. But the staff is not ready to help with your issues and they seem not to care at all.
The water in the 111 room building was freezing. I wasn't informed about it in the check-in and decided to take a shower be for leaving. When I noticed I opened the door and a lady cleaning the corridor asked them about the problem, I had to go out wrapped in a towel in the middle of the corridor because no one came to the door to inform me what was going on. A member of the staff helped me Moving me to another room in another building late night. If it wasn't him I'd have a terrible experience with the customer service. There are two girls that they don't know how costumer service goes on.
Nice location, close to city center. Very clean a comfortable.
