8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff and location
Cons: The rooms are a little dated compared to their other properties
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing. It far exceeded my expectations. The staff was overly accomodating and always available. The food was perfect!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Many choices - all wonderful
Cons: If I had one complaint, I wish it was more lively in the evening. There was live music every other night, that was it. Nothing for teenagers/young adults to do. Too old for the teen room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The service across the board was above and beyond expectations. All of the staff was extremely friendly and willing to help ensure our stay was fantastic.
Cons: Occasionally services would be a bit slower than expected, and before we started using the do not disturb door hanger, we were getting a few too many knocks, but we were able to remedy this.
6.3 Good
Pros: The friendliness and enthusiasm of the staff were excellent. The bed was comfortable. Pool staff were excellent. Beach was lovely. Sunsets were amazing.
Cons: We have stayed at Grand Velas Riviera Maya and that was by far a superior property. Facilities here are not as nice. Service in the restaurants was quite poor. Staff would often bring wrong drinks and we would have to constantly ask for refills of all beverages. Very few people in the restaurants when we were there and still lots of confusion. All activities off property were a good distance away so not super convenient to leave to do other things without being gone a whole day. The only “adult” pool is an oversized hot tub that is too hot to spend much time in on warm days. The pebbles used in walkways and stairs around pool as decorative elements are quite painful and dangerous to walk on in bare feet and difficult to avoid.

3.7 Mediocre
Cons: Internet does not work and staff was not attentive. hotel changed room when we checked in to a smaller room than we booked (and paid for).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place to get away and relax. Spa is awesome!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food you would even want to pay for if it wasn't all inclusive. The service was unbelievable. It also comes included with a beach front property right down the street. It's really quiet and peaceful. We had an amazing time!!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff at this resort are the best you will experience. Person after person went beyond the call of duty from the restaurants to the pool bar to the reception staff. Size of the resort made it so easy to get around.
Cons: Our room did not have one comfortable chair in it. In past years we had a couch but this room had only 2 cane dining room type chairs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Service, food, relaxing,privacy
Cons: No answer
7.7 Good
Pros: Boutique nature of resort equates to large availability for cabanas and pool chairs. Food & drink were outstanding. WIFI was great throughout the resort.
Cons: The base room was one of the smallest we have ever had in any hotel; We felt it was necessary to upgrade rooms resulting in added costs we did not plan on.
7.5 Good
Pros: Most of the facilities were really nice. The pool area was excellent and the food was good. The staff was incredibly helpful, particularly because we were celebrating our birthdays. 5-star staff.
Cons: I didn't like the lack of immediate access to the beach. Further, I didn't like the private pool area set up at all. There was no way to access the pool directly from back patio. I also didn't like the fact that it was an all-inclusive yet I was presented with a bill for almost everything. I was never quite sure if something was extra, or not. That was really annoying.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent all around. Impeccable attention to detail. Calm, relaxing, just perfect for a work conference location. Highly recommend it. Would return anytime. Great staff. Love it. Near all. Perfect.
Cons: All great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was wonderful, the place was beautiful, and the food was awesome. We would definitely go back there!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Everyone was very friendly
Cons: As they filled up during the week the service tailed off significantly. Only one restaurant but wide mrenu. Also Italian night didn’t have a single Pasta dish on menu ?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Karina, the manager, and the entire staff were truly professional and just wanted us to enjoy our vacation. By the way, definitely don't forget to make it to the Ocean Club, and if you're staying for 5 nights, you'll get to try a restaurant at the Grand Velas; don't miss it!
Cons: having to leave ;-)

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Service and staff are amazing. They greet you beautifully. And service was good. The roof top pool is spectacular. The sushu Japanese restaurent was amazing
Cons: The l food at the roof top pool was terrible. it is all you eat between breakfast abd dinner. And it had a big impact on the day and the vacation. . Ive eaten far better at other far more affordable places in Mexico Overall For the price the hotel does not live upto its 5 Doinand rating. The very steep price did not dekiver an excellent experience. Lots of gaps in some levels of service While service in general was good. The conceirge was not. Lost my reservations for dinner on our last night. Ended up earting at ab awful Italian restaurent pool side. Christmas eve. It was a nightmare.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, secluded but not extremely remote. Very nice surroundings and beautiful beach area.
Cons: A couple of restaurants could improve on their food quality. Also, prompt room service needs to be addressed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service was impeccable.
Cons: The beach
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The resort was amazing. The staff went above and beyond to take care of every need. The view from the private balcony hot tub was breath taking. The food at each of the restaurants was amazing. Our favorite meal was ceviche on the beach. The water is clear, warm, and the paddle boards and kayaking are free. Snorkeling in the national park is a must! Just a 40 minute kayak trip away.
Cons: I can't think of anything to complain about.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We got the best room at the hotel top floor and with a perfect view of the city and beach also mountain the service was just perfect the food everything was just what we wish for could be happier by picking this hotel if you plan on going you won't go wrong Picking this hotel!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Service is top notch, the setting is stunning high up in mountains, very secluded and obviously the pool is phenomenal. The suite with jacuzzi was so relaxing, great size room everything was pretty perfect, gym is also amazing I've never enjoyed going a gym so much. I also found prices of food and drink not too expensive considering the luxury of it, the room rate was high though.
Cons: I am struggling to think of anything, maybe it felt like was more suited for couples, I wanted and to relax on own but the hotel very much has a couples vibe, it's far from downtown also so not great if you wanted to explore.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Mousai is a great hotel for vacation. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. People in general are friendly and eager to help and talk about their city. Always they ask that you come back for vacation ! Very clean, not only in the rooms but the outside also. Again great place for vacation!
Cons: The beach is very small and rocky, hard to go in and out of the water, not good for snorkeling! However the beach staff is friendly and ready to satisfy all the needs one has.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent, staff was beyond amazing...everyone!!! at the reception area, everyone!!! at the Terrace restaurant where I had breakfast every day, the way staff was always smiling and greeting you and trying to be helpful.
Cons: Constant noise of the ongoing construction from 8am to 6pm---every business day. That severely impacted my ability to use the hot tub or even enjoy at all my beautiful room terrace.
6.8 Good
Pros: Sushi was awesome
Cons: Paid for a king bed. Was given a queen. Woke up every morning by an accidental phone call from the front desk. Cleaning people came in our room unannounced while we were sleeping and woke us up again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this place is so beautiful. You definitely do not have to leave, everything you need is at the hotel/ resort.
Cons: We had a couple hiccups regarding our room when we first arrived but they were easily resolved
Garlands Del Río - Puerto Vallarta - Bedroom

9.4 Excellent (368 reviews)
C$ 188+
Overview Reviews
A stay at Garlands del Río places you in the heart of Puerto Vallarta, within a 15-minute walk of Playa de los Muertos and Malecon. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and a safe deposit box at the front desk. A shuttle from the airport to the hotel is provided for a surcharge (available on request), and self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a great stay at Garlands del Rio, the staff were very friendly and made our stay comfortable. When we requested to move to a different room, from the first floor to the top, they made that possible and very easy. The property is beautiful, there’s a kitchen and fridge where you could bring in your own food and cook. The pool is very clean and beautifully designed. It’s close to great places and centrally located. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay very pleasant. We’d definitely be back!
Cons: The pool, although beautifully designed, is in the middle of foot traffic of people entering and leaving the property.
6.8 Good
Pros: Very good eclectic style, view to the river, private balcony. Swimming pool and social areas are perfect.
Cons: Our reservation included breakfast, at the property they explained to us that if we order anything additional to our included breakfast we had to pay an additional full price breakfast which we found unfair. The included breakfast is small but good, the missing part is protein. So take and informed decision and do not opt for included breakfast, instead pay at the property for full breakfast. Location: the hotel is located in downtown “recovering area” does not feel safe at night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved this character filled boutique hotel in the south side of Puerto Vallarta. You enter through a black door that looks a bit like a garage door into this gorgeous oasis by the river. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the location was great. A short walk to the beach and restaurants.
Cons: The air conditioner was a bit noisy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful B&B walking distance to the shopping and dining. Gorgeous view of the river and greenery
Cons: The only thing I didn’t like was all the mosquitoes, but it’s quite inevitable since the weather was humid and hot. Nothing to do with the staff or B&B.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great river views, clean and beautiful rooms, lovely staff, very attentive and helpful. We keep coming back to this place every chance we get.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location along the river in what feels like a very safe, local neighborhood. Quick walks to the local markets, beaches, malecon, great street food, shopping etc. I think it might be the best location for someone who wants to see the less tourist driven areas of PV. The hotel is eclectic in a very romantic way. It feels intimate and you could easily make friends with both the staff and the other guests at the small pool and honor system bar. We would stay again in a heart beat.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very friendly and helpful
Cons: The restroom
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I scored a fantastic suite. But apart from that , it was a pretty little oasis on the river, in the romantic zone. The staff was very helpful. All very nice people.
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I stayed here my first two nights in Puerto Vallarta and would have stayed the entire week if it weren’t totally booked. My room (one of the smallest and cheapest here) was spacious, comfortable, clean, and beautiful. The staff are so kind and helpful. The location is very close to the beach and a few restaurants, shops, pharmacies...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was one of a kind - fantastic! Staff wonderful and very helpful. Great location.
Cons: There isn’t anything we didn’t like
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was great! Martha, Israel and Cristina were really great and helpful with every question/need we had during our stay. The room was really huge and they even set up a matching little bed for our toddler with safe rails and all.

6.8 Good
Pros: It was clean and staff are friendly
Cons: I was offer to upgrade to a room with a view which I appreciated but they didn’t tell me that I was located right next to stairs and an elevator. It was very noise with people walking and it echoed hard to sleep, also I was right next the staff lien closet and you can always hear them talking and opening the door and very early times of the morning. Our sleep was interrupted many times throughout our stay there. Just honk he should have told me. I paid extra to move and I probably won’t have if I knew the location of the room.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The grounds are lovely and the staff is great. The access to the beach is a real bonus. Senate at all three restaurants and the food was a cut above what I had initially expected, especially the breakfasts. The rooms are a little Spartan, but honestly very comfortable and extremely clean.
Cons: There is no real bar. People hang at the pool all day and they serve drinks in the lobby and restaurants at night, but there isn't a regular bar anywhere on property. Given the amount of alcohol the staff has to run and get (even delivering to rooms) it would seem everyone would be happier with a place that had some music To hang out in. Likely they view the lobby this way, but the ambiance is wrong. It's my only complaint.
6.3 Good
Cons: room location was one of the worst on the property, simply because it was not reserved directly through the hotel.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nice staff decent food
Cons: Very old, rooms definitely need to be renovated I could hear other rooms moving furniture
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Service is excellent
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: Cockroche big as my thumb. Steak was a blob of fat with brown gravy.thin walls
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful grounds, suites nice w/ great views, pools, bars. Restaurants were good for breakfast, lunch and dinner - open all day long. Friendly staff. Cooking classes, karaoke, dancing, etc.
Cons: Only issue we had was that the Mariachi band played in the lobby until 2am, which included trumpets playing loudly. Some guests took that party to their rooms after causing a disturbance. We called front desk and resort compensated us with a couple of $90 spa certificates (hour massage) as well as champagne and choc-covered strawberries. Appreciated that.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: No showers by the pools.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service was great. The staff very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious The Place was very clean. This may sound silly but the public bathrooms had scents oils that made them smell very nice and they were always clean. We had a fabulous time.
Cons: The bathrooms were a little far from the beach area.
Rivera del Rio Boutique Hotel - Puerto Vallarta - Bedroom
6
9.3 Excellent (233 reviews)
C$ 235+
Overview Reviews
Located in Puerto Vallarta (Romantic Zone), Rivera del Rio Boutique Hotel is within a 15-minute walk of Playa de los Muertos and Malecon. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I have been to PV on many occasions and have always liked the vibe of the river area. A little bit away from the hustle and bustle of the Malecon area. The hotel offers easy access to the area and some tranquility when you need it. Mornings in the area feel very authentic with the noise of the roosters as your "alarm" but I found it soothing some how. The staff is very efficient and friendly. Great breakfasts in the morning. We didn't leave the table hungry !
Cons: I have stayed at Garlands Del Rio ( the sister property to Rivera Del Rio ) and enjoyed the access to Netflix in our room. I think that this hotel should also invest in providing this option to it guest. We could find only 1 channel that had English speaking shows to watch out of probably 40 channels. I realize it is Mexico but Netflix would remedy that situation for English speaking guest.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Tons of charm and a wonderful staff.
Cons: Stayed with a large group during hurricane Patricia. The staff was amazing and kept great care of us. I'm so great full we were there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very interesting place, would not suggest it to people who like large chain hotels. We came from the W to here, very different experience, but enjoyed it none the less. AMAZING staff and AMAZING breakfast included. Would stay again
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was excellent. Staff and property are awesome!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: What a gem of a find in the 'budget traveller' category! Funky opulence? Luxurious theatre? I'm not sure how to describe the rooms (and we saw all of them! Fantastic!) Each created like a stage set. Like Salvador Dali influenced the architect. Like Gabriel García Márquez and George Eliot had a child who grew up to run a hotel. Colourful art, 4 poster beds, poured concrete bathtubs, spiral staircases to roof top pools. Blocks off, but worlds away, from the main drag of Old Vallarta, overlooking a lush green stream. Fantastic generous breakfast, truly kind and caring service.
Cons: This place is not for everyone. It is rather like staying with a rich old aunt- opulent bones, but one gets used to things that others consider 'eccentric'. In our suite, I had to leap up to get on the luscious king bed. Fun for me, but not compatible for everyone. The gorgeous bathroom at ceiling level had french windows that opened above the rest of the suite. (picture a Juliet balcony). So not soundproofed at all. There was a second, enclosed bathroom on the ground level for more privacy.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staf was exceptional!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Upgraded room to the top bedroom (alejandro) which was incredible and easentially a fully equipped apartment. This beautifully transformed house has so much character and the views are stunning. The staff are super friendly, speak great english although i did try my poor spanish. The pool is gorgeous however i didnt use the spa despite the view from it. The bed was enormous as i was staying by myself and the cleaning ladies were great. It is somewhat obvious that this place is very old but what the others have done with it is so awesome. I would be back in an instant. 10 minute walk to the boardwalk, 15 to the beach. The bar works on an honor system and they make breakfast for you every morning - although i was never up to try it or decided to pass due to wanting to get to the beach. Still took the pastries from the bread basket :)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location in old Puerto Vallarta. Beautiful and particular Hotel.
Cons: Location in old part of Puerto Vallarta. Really unique experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the breakfast was great, the pool/ hot tub area was stunning/ the staff were super friendly/ the welcome margaritas/ the balcony was huge / the location was great
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous, artistic hacienda. For those from the northwest US, It is similar to the McMenamins
Cons: Individual bathroom privacy is lacking.

Pros: Quality food, night shows and amenities
Cons: The property needs an update to caught up. Feb 2019
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Entertainment staff was superb. Nice hotel. The resort credits which I thought were a scam were actually true! We swam with dolphins for $79 for the family! We had already booked a zip line through another company before we left and didn’t cancel it but we could’ve saved some money.
Cons: Didn’t like that when I asked for Belvedere vodka (WHICH THEY HAD!) in the only bar they had it the bartenders would act like they didn’t know what I was talking about. I had to tell one yesterday let me show you where you keep it and he acted like he had no clue
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, activities, food amazing. Front desk very helpful with changing rooms when noticed the first room was not what was requested. Only problem was smokers next door and it seepted under the adjoing room doors.
Cons: Only what was mentioned above.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nice facilities, a lot of attention to the details, spacious and clean.
Cons: My brother got sick eating shrimps, called reception and they said there was no medical center and made it seem like it wasn't their problem. At the checkout they told us there was a medical center and that we should have reported the incident, but they didn't even took note of it.

Pros: Spa was great!
Cons: Did not feel posh like a Hard Rock should feel. Food was pretty terrible from all the restaurants. Limited beer offered at all the bars.

Cons: We were there last year and thought the rooms were much better than this trip. We moved rooms from the 2nd floor to the 6th. 2nd floor room had holes in the curtains, counter tops need polishing, no maid service until late pm. , no regular coffee.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Service was incredible throughout the resort. Every room is ocean front and the view can’t be beat.
Cons: They allow chair hogs to reserve lounges by the pool starting early in the morning. Seats sit empty with stuff on them for hours. Ridiculous! All chairs taken by 9 AM.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The resort was beautiful. Exactly like the pictures online! Every room had an ocean view. It was gated, therefore we felt very safe. The spa was very nice. The staff was very friendly and welcoming! We can’t wait to go back.
Cons: The only thing I can think of was the elevators were a bit stuffy. Other than that, it was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about was awesome. The staff was exceptionally pleasant. It was a pleasure to be there. I would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Pros: Efficient and modern hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent cmplete business type breakfast, not too crowded, everything warm and ready; would've hoped for a bit longer of the breakfast hours, maybe until 11am, but nothing to really complain about.
Cons: The only thing I didn't like was that the parking lot is on the back and there's no easy access to it at nights, there's a back entrence but it's only open during the day, so when I arrived at night I had to walk all the way to the front to access the hotel. Maybe have that back entrance only accessible with your room key at nights.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was very clean and comfortable I loved all the pillows and the wonderful bed and linens
Cons: We booked a king size bed and was given 2 queen beds. As I had just had surgery it worked out ok but the reservation was for 1 king size bed.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: He staff at h front desk was very helpful. Allowing us o leave our bags in a secure area while we went to lunch before leaving for the airport.
Cons: I thought the breakfast was mediocre, there was a lot of stuff no guestion. There was no gluten free selections. When we asked the staff if there was wheat in some of the dishes the did not know. The eggs seemed over cooked an dried out. The coffee weak and blasé. The fruit was very good, ripe and fresh and tasty.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was 5 STAR .Daily free breakfast was awesome.Hotel manager and his entire staff, and cleaning staff were all 5STAR. Could not have been better and more helpful.
Cons: Obviously nothing could have been better.
6.8 Good
Pros: When I asked for more shampoo and soap they brought it up quickly.
Cons: Well the bathroom garbage was already full which made me wonder about the cleanness. They scared me when I got back from the pharmacy they said check out was at twelve and I remembered I read on my email that I had until one. I had terrible allergies and there was no tissue and I really didn’t want to go ask for it since I had gone to ask for shampoo already
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very helpful staff (my husband was in hospital). Great breakfast with wide variety.
Cons: The safe is located at about 6 or 6 1/2 feet up. Couldn't use it. Room service sent up the wrong, and much more expensive, wine. Room service closed when I returned from hospital and nowhere to get food.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, location, and facilities were great for an airport hotel. The rooms are very comfortable. The internet speed was fantastic. The parking was an additional plus. The fruit selection at breakfast was very good. The bed linens and pillows were nice.
Cons: The mattresses were extremely soft and provided little or no support. They were cheap mattresses. This was especially disappointing given that it's a newer hotel. Although the air conditioning was very efficient, it was too loud even while wearing ear plugs. The breakfast, except for the fruit, was like low-quality cafeteria food. Some of the food didn't even taste real. I would have gladly paid more for a real breakfast.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Hotel very efficient. Very nice breakfast included. Also felt very safe.
Cons: not unhappy... but needed some more area tourist info. Other: Hotel is by airport.... not downtown Vallarta

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very nice. The facilities were clean. It did not promise anything it did not deliver.
Cons: The price was the same as the 5-star hotels 25 minutes south. My reason for staying at Villa Premier was that is was close into town. But the surrounding area kind of sucked. And Puerto Vallarta is not a super nice place and I would suggest to stay in a higher end place and venture out once a day into town.
7.4 Good
Pros: The staff and quality of food was very good.
Cons: The deluxe room was small and not laided out well. The food was better than average, not enough selection.

Pros: The staff is super friendly...lovely... The lobby, sitting areas and all the nature is fantastic!! The hotel is beautiful...
Cons: The area is a little sketchy... The rooms smell of mildew and pumping a horrible fragrance doesn’t make it better. The sheets smelled - worst nights sleep...love staying in hotels and was really looking forward to rest
1.0 Poor
Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: When I reserved the hotel I was not informed that the pool and spa area was closed for renovations. Also the beach area has crocodile that made the beach area unsafe.

Pros: The staff was AMAZING!! I have never experienced such wonderful service. The staff got to know us by name, and we looked forward to seeing them daily. We visited the spa and all but one restaurant on the property. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Pros: We needed a hotel close to the airport due to a canceled flight. This was 5 minutes away. Recently updated hotel and they are completing their pool renovations this summer. Nice gym and spa area, although the jacuzzi did not work well.
Cons: Unfortunately the pool was closed for renovations but guests are allowed to use the Westin down the street.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful construction of the pool and facilities. Very cheerful staff. Easy access to the loungers. Well maintained. Good internet. Nice breakfast.
Cons: We had to endure a timeshare sales pitch. Some restaurants were timeshare guests only until 8pm
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Loud music in the beach and pool area
7.1 Good
Pros: Beautiful atmosphere, large room, good food.
Cons: They sneakily roped us into a VERY unpleasant time share presentation and were pretty rude about it. We only stayed for 1 night so they basically soured our entire opinion of the place. You also need to take a shuttle and go through a bunch of annoying stairs or elevators just to get from your room to the main lobby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was so kind and amazing. They always greeted with a smile. The property itself was super well kept. Always people around to help and maintain the cleanliness of the place. The rooms were so comfortable :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was our second stay and they've made many improvements which I appreciate! The property is beautiful, you get the ocean and the mountains all in one! The activities are plentiful. The wait staff is the best.
Cons: There should not be a charge for Wi-Fi, please include this in your prices.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I hardly ever take the time to review places I've stayed, but I felt the need to share my opinion on this one... My fiance and I recently stayed 3 nights in the honeymoon suite, and we couldn't have been happier! The room (and the entire resort) was gorgeous, the food and drinks were great, and the staff were all sooo friendly and accommodating. It was luxury & relaxation at its finest, and we would highly recommend this resort to anyone! We are missing it already :)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very large resort spanning several buildings. We stayed at one of the ones high on the hillside. This had a great sea view. All inclusive was the best I have encountered so far. You could eat and drink from the menus of 5 restaurant and almost all was included in all inclusive.
Cons: Far from the city.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was unconditional, very friendly and respectful. The pools were clean at all times as well as the whole property. The room was always clean and well maintained Their food is really good. Must try the japanese restaurant The beach is beautiful try snorkeling in there they have very cute fish.
Cons: Sometimes, the trolley took forever. And if you are planning on leaving the property early before the trolley starts operating try to walk to the lobby because when we had our excursion to marrietas islands we called for a ride to the lobby ( we were in tower 5) and they never made it. We had to walk to the lobby and then wait for a taxi in the lobby. We ended up being late to the excursion meeting time. But were lucky enough to get in to the boat.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The infinity pool is amazing and I love how you can walk out to the beach. I liked being able to lay by the pool or beachside with lounge chairs that have shade over your head! The location is good, you do have to taxi or uber to get into town but it inexpensive. I liked the different restaurants on the property and that there is a trolley that takes you to and from their sister hotel mousai up the hill. There are also daily activities and a tour desks that sets up your excursions, loved the one stop shop. Did I say the infinity pool is amazing?!
Cons: Price could be better. I found the price to be cheaper booking directly with the hotel.

Pros: The staff at the property is always great, never waiting for a drink and anticipating your needs. This is my third stay here and I wouldn't hesitate to rebook, good selection of food and drinkg
10.0 Excellent
Pros: High end - quality of products.
Cons: Liked it all.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The property was lovely, gardens were beautiful and it was very clean. The pools were very nice and we appreciated the adults only pool. We loved the view from our room and listening to the waves every night. The staff was excellent and very attentive taking orders at the pools. The hotel manager was very available and we had excellent communication before our stay arranging transport from the airport. The food at the restaurants was beautifully prepared and presented and menus rotated every day for variety. Getting into town was easy with the bus coming by right at the corner every few minutes for 10 pesos. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would come again.
Cons: The concerns were minor and things that other reviews had prepared us for. Good for prospective guests to consider. There is construction on the next property, but at this point it didn't bother us. The sister property next door has more of a party atmosphere and can be noisy in the evening but we found it ended early enough for us. We found the food surprisingly bland for our taste. Next time I will ask for more spice! We had an issue with one staff member making us feel guilty for not purchasing additional services, telling us she worked on commission. and following us around in spite of saying no. We were surprised at her approach, but you do have to be brutally firm.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It was a short bus ride to the Old town area. Variety of pools and hot tub very nice. Good gym and spa too. Staff very friendly. Was the shoulder season and not hard to find a chair by the pool or at dinner.
Cons: Wasn't much of a beach area and waves too big to do much activity in the water. Neighbour resort had very loud entertainment at times of the day and evening.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: The food was horrible
6.8 Good
Pros: The beach was nice. The Italian Restaurant was adults only. We ate there all 3 nights of our stay. The staff was great and the resort very clean, as we have mostly found to be true in Mexico.
Cons: We were there celebrating our 35th anniversary. This was not the place for a tranquil vacation. There were lots of children and families. They bused in people on Saturday, and picked them up on Sunday. The resort was very crowded, particularly the pool. The food was mostly buffets. The snack bar served a greasy hamburger that smelled great and tasted even better.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: FANTASTIC AND OVER THE TOP FACILITY/PROPERTY. THE SERVICE WAS UNBELIEVABLE. FROM THE MOMENT WE ARRIVE AT THE CHECK IN COUNTER, RUEBEN SANDWICH AND LUIS, CONCIERGE WITH ANTONIO, RESTAURANTS WITH FRANCISCO AT BLAZE, OLIVER AND SAU AT PUREZA, ROLDOFO AT MELAN ZONE, SONIA AND HUEMBERTO AT VIVA, BARTENTERS, HOUSEKEEPING, AND ETC. TOO MANY TO LIST! FANTASTIC PROPERTY WITH ABOVE AND BEYOND STAFF! WE WILL BE BACK WITH THE ENTIRE FAMILY NEXT TIME WE VACATION PUERTO VALLARTA. WE LOVE THE HYATT ZIVA!
Cons: THE ONLY ITEM WE WERE SURPRISED HOW EARLY (6PM) THEY CLOSED THE BEACH BARS UP. ALTHOUGH THEY HAD THE TEQUILA BAR AND ETC., WE THOUGHT IT WAS SOMEWHAT EARLY FOR FOLKS, SINCE THE SUNSET DIDN'T GO DOWN UNTIL 8:00-8:30, OTHERWISE NO OTHER ISSUES.

Pros: Breakfast was good and they had a lunch/snack available outside by the pool.
Cons: Our bathroom had a foul smell and on our last day the water temp fluctuated from cold to hot. I think there was something wrong with the pipes and needed to be fixed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Had an amazing stay will definitely come back to visit again
Cons: I fact we had to leave
7.0 Good
Pros: Great location, great staff, good food and drink
Cons: They hotel allows vendors on the property (Orlandos Magic tours) that bait and switch their customers, then refuse to acknowledge the situation.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff was super nice and accommodating. Good food options every day, private beach, close to downtown. Clean rooms and clean beach.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: As someone traveling a lone, perhaps an all-inclusive resort was not the most bang for my buck. I also don't drink and try not to over-consume (which is the culture all-inclusives produce). With that said, the facilities and location can't be beat. If I were to be traveling with my partner or with family, this is a great option that really affords relaxation and easygoing vacation (if you don't plan to leave). Arrival: You will be stopped at the gate (if arriving by Uber or taxi). It was super simple - you're greeted with smiles and a warm towel + drink. I got there at 11, and as expected the room wasn't ready until 2:45/3pm. You can use the facilities regardless (ex. eat in the cafe, use the pools, use the gym, etc) even when you don't have your room yet. The coffee shop is 24/7 (not the barista - but there will be snacks and a carafe of coffee available if you're jetlagged). The beachfront is amazing. Weather dependent, the sun will kick in at full blast around 11 and really last until sunset (which also varies by season). As I was here in early July, the sun was not setting until 8:45pm. The gym is amazing. While there is a trainer there, I did not really see him do too much. I think if the patron demographic gravitated more towards a younger crowd, then people would have taken advantage of the cross-training class they offer every day around 9:45am. But the demographic here is mainly families, and older (and not on the fit side). The gym is 24/7 and there are ample amounts for you to do your hiit training, weight-training, and cardio.
Cons: If I had to hate on anything, I was a bit appalled by the conditions of the bathrooms closest to the beach fronts. They were not well-maintained and there aren't any fitting rooms if you're looking to quickly change between the beach and regular clothes (so you wouldn't have to go to your room to change). But really, what's an extra 10 minutes to walk to your room, dry off and change? Again, you have to be the laziest person to let this annoy you. If you're a disabled person or have accessibility issues, then yes, this is an issue. I was here for four days, three nights. I did not have hot water at all during the entire trip. The reason I did not ask to change rooms is because Puerto Vallarta is HUMID in the summer. You'll be grateful for a cold shower. :) Probably because Hyatt has done its surveys and assessment, but was really surprised as a beachfront all-inclusive they didn't have more physical or interactive activities (ex. yoga on the beach, cooking classes perhaps in the hotel kitchen or at one of the restaurants). My guess is that this is because most of the people staying here just want to load up on the excess drinks and food. It might be interesting for Hyatt to provide more health-conscious activities. Oh, and the app should be better - it doesn't even offer a map and the restaurant/dining open hours were incorrect.

Pros: staff was so friendly! excellent bar service ! great food choices, room was very nice! wonderful visit
Cons: temperature in all pools, to warm and to water to cloudy, didn't feel clean. didn't like food at Mexican restaurant. very long line for breakfast buffet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Service is fantastic
Cons: A lot of kids checked in on our third day there....that was only downside.
6.3 Good
Pros: Pools are nice, some staff are nice and some are not. Taco bar was superb.
Cons: Overrated for the paid amount. No child care. Waitress and waiters took longer to attend to your needs. My glass of water was not refilled when asked the first time. Had to remind them 3-4 times then it was refilled. Food was ok not great Rooms were not attended until after 4 pm.
7.1 Good
Pros: Staff treats you well, rooms with nice views.
Cons: Service is very slow, they take 2 hours to get towels or anything you you need. They can definitely improve on service. Also they guy who was supposed to introduce us to services or things to do in the resort was more interested in selling romantic dinner and spa time. Had to question him directly to find out things to do in the resort.
6.8 Good
Pros: We liked the pools.
Cons: The fridge is terrible. We had to bring our ice packs to the concierge to freeze for us. The rooms are Ok. I wish they were a bit cleaner and more functional — it was a bit rundown. The bellboys forgot to bring up our bags after two hours so we had to go down and grab them ourselves. Overall, we had a decent time — not the best. Could have been better.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Overall the service was amazing, Pools & Lobby area is beautiful!! The food was amazing at all the restaurants we ate for being an all-inclusive resort.
Cons: Rooms Definitely need to be upgraded! To me it was more like a three star resort felt like room was a little dirty we had to change rooms when we got there because first room we got was not clean. We got our room almost at 6 PM instead of 3 PM
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location with good beach and pools. The room and bed were very comfortable. Fun entertainment and activities.
Cons: A little pushy about joining the membership club. Food was good but not outstanding.
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast buffet was great.
Cons: Dinner buffet. Rocky beach.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good food and drinks
Cons: Money went missing from our room. Lots of children.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is clean and big. The staff is friendly. The room was clean and modern. Many pools , for adults and kids. The beach was clean and the ocean water warm but murky. The town is 10 minutes away.
Cons: The food and drinks were horrible. The first night we arrived , we tried ( 9 people int the group ) Castaways seafood restaurant and it was not that great. I did not like the fish so I ordered the rib eye and it was not seasoned or cooked properly. Most of us had to return the plates back so we can order other things from the menu. I ordered a Mojito and when i got it I thought i was given a glass of water ! I asked the waiter if i was given someone else's drink but he told me that the drink is fine and this is how they make drinks for Americans because we don't like them strong ! From that point on I just ordered shots of Hornitos tequila or just Hornitos with a splash of lemon juice. The next day , we tried the Mexican place , downstairs, and their food was almost uneatable. I was frustrated with what I got , so I ordered chicken tacos to keep it simple. I got three dry (probably microwaved chicken ) tacos with nothing in them. Did not even try the Japanese or the Italian place next door because if you cannot have decent Mexican food in Mexico , why even bother with Japanese or Italian . We left the hotel and went to some local Mexican restaurants and had great Mexican seafood/pastor. P.S: - The staff at the restaurants and the buffet were friendly and very helpful. - The buffet was the best thing they had at the hotel. We just ate their the whole time.
5.5 Okay
Pros: The grounds and the lobby are beautiful.
Cons: Our room was very musty smelling. I also was very disappointed with the quality of the food.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful views, shows every night, 10 minute cab from downtown
Cons: The staff was okay. I felt like they could have been a bit more genuinely nice as a whole.

Pros: The staff was really great, very friendly and helpful. The beds were a good size and comfy to to sleep..
Cons: The breakfast buffet could be a little better, the second day we were there half of the food was gone and they didn’t make more and didn’t offer to prepare more, for being a buffet to my knowledge it doesn’t have to run out!!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff and service at this hotel were above and beyond expectations. The location is perfect being that it is steps away from everything that Viejo Vallarta offers and even closer to the malecon and the beach. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Cons: Like one of the reviewers noted, I too was placed in a room that faced the air conditioning units in the courtyard. The best outcome for this situation is that I know I would have been moved to a better room if I had asked. But I was only there one night so didn't bother.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was great. Short walking distance to shops, restaurants, clubs and the beach. It was not noisy at night.
Cons: The bed was too soft and uncomfortable.

Pros: The Staff No bugging to bye Time share
Cons: Beach front Beautiful Relaxing Clean
6.3 Good
Pros: It's clean, food was decent and it has a good location.
Cons: WARNING!! Read every single detail of the services... This place is not designed to operate as a hotel, is more like a club. It's expensive for the services that they offer, they call themselves diamond category, its 5-4 stars place. They charge extra for internet! All activities are extra charge. If you want for example a kayak it's 1 hour free after that you need to pay, some spots by the beach are extra charge, no business center there. And something that really pissed me off was that they didn't let my uber to come in the third day... You know why? Because uber drivers don't pay them a unofficial fee!!! Corruption! I had to walked all the way to the exit with my bags! Is that a diamond category? I won't come back for sure, btw they charged me 100usd extra for an "additional person" just because they are tricky on the reservations. Fortunately, Booking has a awesome customer service and they will take care of it, that's why I choose it for my bookings all over the world! With the same amount of money that you would spend here, you can get a nice stay in the W Punta de Mita for example ;)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: evrything
6.8 Good
Pros: The hotel itself and the amenities were good
Cons: Waiting for 20 minutes to check in while the only person at the reservation desk was on the phone. Also, paying $10/day per device for Internet seems absurd, especially when most hotels these days offer it for free
7.5 Good
Pros: Great food. Room with nice ammenities
Cons: Staff very pushy to sell shared time vacation even when I told her I was not interested
5.5 Okay
Pros: Kids had fun
Cons: Expected more activities and entertainment and variety of food Pressured into timeshare breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great property for a 9 day stay. Staff is great, food is good, location is great.
Cons: One lift was out of order for one day. This was fixed but had to climb five levels the first day.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The cleanliness and the food was good
Cons: If the back door is open the condensation will overpower the room and cause water on the floor.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Beach access. Modern like-new facility. Great staff, very helpful and friendly.
Cons: Extra for internet (very slow, not worth paying); limited restaurants; difficult to arrange airport transportation prior to arrival (website submission unresponsive).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The resort was fantastic, the rooms were very comfortable, the staff was amazing with a special compliment to ANA our housekeeper who was meticulous, gracious and helpful, to the pool consierge, REGEE, who was fantastic, funny and wonderful with assisting us on finding poolside chairs from other guests that put towels down to “hold” their spot and then left for hours at a time, to the service people (the Jose’s) in the Market/Deli to the wonderful Bell Guys... I have never been at a resort that had so many wonderful service staff...
Cons: The only thing that was subpar at this resort was the internet reception! It was spotty at best and the rooms did not have wifi... you could request wifi but the resort expected payment of $10 per day per device, which was a real detriment and overall an appalling situation and decision by the resort management!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful resort overlooking the bay. Staff was very friendly and always so helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
Cons: The day we arrived we found it hard to find a lounge chair at the pool since so many people had saved chairs and were not using them. Couldn’t find any towels so asked one of the waiters and he was very nice about bringing us towels. The next day an attendant greeted us as we arrived at the pool and asked us how many towels we needed and then found us chairs so all was good.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The pool area
Cons: Plates and cutlery were filthy. Food at the restaurant wasn't great. My credit card has been charged additional extras for prices not originally quoted.
Overview Reviews
Puerto Vallarta is a mecca for nightlife and beach relaxation. It is located on the beautiful west coast of Mexico and is a hotspot for tourists. Guests at the Grand Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta have the privilege of experiencing all the goods in this beautiful area without kids! This resort location tends to attract couples. It is no surprise. With a swimming pool, beachfront property, spa, and bar, what better way can a couple escape from reality? Rooms and suites are available for guests and are have a modern feel that does not impact comfort. Furthermore, the Palmares Beach is nearby. The luxurious and satisfying white sand screams “romantic!” The Grand Fiesta offers onsite coffee and snacks, however, guests are encouraged to explore the dining opportunities outside of the hotel walls. The streets of Puerto Vallarta are full of classic Mexican food that cannot be found anywhere else. La Leche is nearby and serves delicious local cuisine. While relaxing in Mexico, why not go shopping for a new wardrobe? Plaza Caracol is nearby for guests who are hoping to find some colorful and fun things to wear to the beach and bring home to make an impression. Puerto Vallarta is a classic spring break location. Of course, the clubs here are fantastic and incredibly fun. The Strana night club is walking distance from the Grand Fiesta so guests can enjoy a fun night out and return safely to bed before the sun comes up.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property. The Lobby. The Pools. The Restaurants. It is the entire package. Very relaxing. The staff there was also exceptional. They remembered my name and VERY polite all of the time.
Cons: It did not bother too much--but I had a couple of back to back weddings down below my room.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful resort. Felt as if staff treated us as VIPs. Food was very good but repetitive and desserts need a do over. So many activities. Staff service in and around the beach and pools were exceptional.

Cons: Beach area little smaller then I would like -
7.0 Good
Pros: Food is good and they have a lot of activities.
Cons: They try to sell you a time-sharing when you arrived and you can see dirty dishes on the aisles all day.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: The way the building faces, you do not get sun until later in the day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All the restaurants were delicious, there was something for everyone! All of the staff was super helpful and very friendly.
Cons: The pool could've maybe been a tad cleaner, but that's my only qualm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view is amazing, the rooms are clean and very comfortable, and the staff is incredibly attentive. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone staying in Puerto Vallarta.
Cons: Wait times for the restaurants can be a little long so if eating at an exact time is important, booking a reservation ahead would be smart.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very new, clean and beautiful There is a public bus Comes every 15 minutes at the front of hotel go to town (Malecon beach and market place) only 10 poso for each transportation
Cons: Food is just ok
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and all food options were great. Gorgeous spa facility and the pool and beach were perfect. Love the ocean view rooms and the nightly entertainment. We loved our water fitness class with Emilio!
Cons: I would have preferred natural fruit juices instead of the mixes they used for the strawberry, mango and pineapple drinks as they tasted like they had artificial sweeteners. Our pool server Omar was a little slow for our cabana and not very friendly or helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service
Cons: No beach to walk on
9.5 Excellent
Cons: All the restaurants had good food, but not great food. I am coming from a very "foodie" city though so I'm a bit biased. We wished the pool bar had more than just "well" liquor to choose from. We kept going into the lobby bar to get better quality liquor. Overall though, great time. No regrets on choosing this place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoy the staff at this resort. They are very kind personable and Always deliver excellent customer service.
Cons: We were a little disappointed when we got there because they had a big group coming in and they had shut down most of the restaurants. But they made it right in the end. We plan on returning next year for our Daughter's birthday.
