We loved the beautiful property, the friendly and helpful staff and the Beach Club
The pool was a little cooler than I’m used to in Mexico but it only took a couple minutes to adjust.
It was in the nature. Beautiful. So no noise from cities or villages. It had a free shuttle to a private beach in La Cruz. The breakfast was good. Also the food at the private beach. There were not many people in the hotel so the pools were not busy. Also the food at the pool was good. The cocktails were good in the sky bar of the hotel.
On the website of the hotel it says it had different a la carte restaurants. But thats not true. We stayed 7 nights and3 nights it was buffet. 2 nights japanese, 1 night italian and 1 night steak. And the food at the buffet was not good. The food at the italian was bad. We had reservation at 8 and had to wait till 9.30 before we got bad food! All our orders came together. Pizza, soup, pasfa, meat!!! In our room the coffee machine ddnt work and also the foon didnt work. They would come to fix it. But they didnt. One day the remote control of the airco didnt work. We had to go 2 times down before it got fixed. We reserved a romance room but when we arrived it was not the romanxe room. So went back to reception and then we got it at night. The service lacks a lot. The bartender in the blue sky bar was great and also the servers at the private beach. club. And some servers at the breakfast and dinner. They say at website they have 2 tequila bars but its only one. After 11pm there is no food to order! Only one bar open till 1am. Ar the ppols they serve only till 5.30 pm. Also at the beach service till 5pm. So if you wanna see sunset you have to go somewhere else and get yourself a taxi. For the price you pay you dont get enough. It seems they have new management since a couple of months. They have big problems. We talked with people who stayed there the last 5 years. They told us that they loved it before but that it had changed complete. And thats a pity. So overall dont think come back. Or they have to change the price or the service.
This is a beautiful property set in the hills. The beach is also beautiful with great food and service - don’t be put off by the short shuttle ride. Some of the friendliest service we’ve come across. The resort is transitioning hands and was maybe 1/3 occupied. It’s a 100 room resort to start off with so no issues finding chairs by the pool or beach! Rooms are nice, modern and all have great views. Short walks everywhere but hilly. We liked the exercise but it could be a problem for someone with bad knees. There is a vehicle that shuttles around the property though. There are also hiking trails in the jungle that are on the challenging side. The hotel is geared towards couples.
Because of the transition, we heard many workers had been laid off. None of the a la carte restaurants were open during our stay. Food at the buffet was hit and miss. No entertainment. No room service. Maid service was also hit and miss (I suspect a shortage of housekeepers). BUT- we were okay with this because we basically had the place to ourselves, it was beautiful and the people were so pleasant. Anyone looking for a party though would be disappointed I suspect.
Bad food, cold and not enough, we didn’t have hot water 3 out of 4 days, very slow time response
It’s a very unique location, set in the jungle, it’s a big site but never feels crowded. If you like peace and tranquillity, this is for you. If your after party nights and entertainment, look elsewhere
No room service, the min bar only has two cans of beer, two cans of water and two cokes. The site is a taxi ride to shops so if you need some provisions you need to take a taxi. An in site shop would be very useful. The food was a hit variable, the themed restaurants weren’t the best, whilst the buffet food was more warm than hot.
