Pros: The care to detail exceeded our expectations in every way
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful ornate rooms and common areas, without feeling old fashioned. Clean and well kept. Service all around was top notch. Catered to our needs, friendly and communicative without being intrusive. Perfect! Location is fantastic, just minutes from downtown, parliament, the water, Cook St. Village and Dallas Road walkway.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Afternoon appetizers were excellent and most welcome and offered in a pleasant setting. Breakfast was superb with several menu choices. Nice relaxing place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food served for breakfast was delicious and amazing! Every comfort was met and the staff was exceedingly friendly. The location was perfect for walking around downtown Victoria.
Cons: The parking lot is big enough to hold MOST of the guests vehicles. If you were out for the evening, finding a place to park when returning was a little bit of a challenge. Thankfully, everything worked out.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a perfect stay! Phantastic furnished, staff awesome friendly, perfect located nearby downtown - just a few minutes by feet! Absolutely recommended by us - first choice at second stay in Victoria!

Cons: Noise from upstairs. Heard everything through ceiling. Old pipes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Delicious breakfasts , beautiful rooms, excellent location everything about this place was a delight and I would love to be able to repeat the experience again one day. Abigail's sets a standard that must be the one that all guesthouses should aspire to, but few could match.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were spacious and elegant. Most comfortable bed we've ever experienced. Multi-course breakfasts were superior! Afternoon snacks were fun. Location was very handy, and only a 10-15 minute walk to the main harbor area, Parliament, museums, shopping, etc. We walked everywhere but it also had free parking which was helpful since we were on a driving vacation.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed very comfortable. Quieter in coach house. Parking very good.
Cons: Spa tub jets on too high.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful and well kept B & B. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made us feel very comfortable. The food was perfect and delicious. A good variety of dishes to choose from. The room was beautiful, we were on the top floor of the main building and found the room to be well appointed and very quiet.
Cons: Be aware that the bed in the top floor room was very high and you need a step stool, which is provided, to get into the bed. It was daunting at times, especially after walking all over town that day. Also, the beautiful stained glass window above the curtains does not have a shade, so in summer, the room does not get dark. The staff has eyeshades if you like. In winter, this would not be an issue. These are minor things, just want people to be aware.

Pros: Awesome house with outstanding hosts. Hard to beat 4 course, quality breakfast that never repeated.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a brilliantly decorated and maintained property. It was like staying in a museum. Everything was so beautifully chosen and placed. It was an absolute delight to explore the house and grounds. The innkeepers, Diana and Alex, were personable, attentive, respectful, inventive, resourceful, and were incredible cooks. The four-course daily breakfasts were culinary delights – – every morning a completely new menu, intricately planned, on served on completely different dishware. Diana spent time with us on our first morning orienting is to the area, so we would not miss anything! Even with this description, there’s no way that I would ever be able to convey how beautiful this place is. I hate to say this, because if you book there I might not get in again, but please do consider this to be the place you want to stay. What a wonderful time we had! Thanks so much Diana and Alex!
Cons: No criticisms really—just a tip—let them know what your food needs are. They usually serve vegetarian but will serve breakfast meats if requested.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb breakfasts prepared by Diana with great presentation in an elegant dining room. Beautiful Italian garden behind the property and worth taking a stroll in. Refined and tasteful décor in the Penthouse Shiraz room (where we stayed) as well as in the common areas (there is an Asian-themed 'sunken room' with skylights adjacent to the garden that is gorgeous). If you appreciate the finer things in life and look for quality furnishings in elegant surroundings, then look no further than Villa Marco Polo. I also liked the fact that there were tons of books in our room that I could peruse. Innkeepers Diana and Alex make you feel welcome and they maintain the property very well.
Cons: Glass soap dispenser bottle by the bathtub was not working; I had to take out the pump dispenser to get out the liquid soap. Minor thing, but I'm sure that can be fixed.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The villa grounds are absolutely beautiful and the mansion has an old world elegance that makes you feel like you are visiting an exotic far away place. There are many cozy corners in which to sit and relax including a wainscotted second story bibliotheca with views of the sound and the snow capped mountains of the Olympic peninsula. Diana and Alex, our hosts, were charming and attentive and their breakfast offerings are 4 course wonders!

We sleep very well, bead sheets are good quality and my wife order a set of bead sheets before she had breakfast. Nice restaurant and breakfast coffee shop. I enjoyed our stay.
Cons: I was looking for a place for rest but my son was looking for a place for fun I get what I want but he didn’t. The pool and gym is the only activity what they have and they are for over 16 years old my son is 14 so he didn’t get a chance to use the pool so he was very bored. If I ever will be back it will be when my son gets older

Pros: The room was fantastic. Very large, high ceilings with floor to ceiling windows and excellent view. I loved the bathroom - jacuzzi bath with shutters that opened up to the main room giving a fab view. Bed was huge and so comfortable. Nice balcony. We are in the pub area once and in restaurant once (for breakfast). Food ok but not exceptional. Really great location and lovely to watch all the activity in the marina
Cons: We didn’t use the air in at night as it was too noisy. We also had to complain about the drainage in the sink. This was fixed on our last day

Pros: Gorgeous place to stay, view is beautiful, room is amazing, breakfast on the patio was delicious. This is our third stay and we will keep coming back.

Pros: Resort was beautiful and quiet. Felt like a faraway getaway. Jet tubs in the lavish bathroom was really relaxing. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.
Cons: The Arbutus Room (hotel's dining restaurant) was only alright, food was above average but given the price range, you would be expecting better food.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. They accommodated our early check-in and late check-out at no additional cost and no hassle. Beautiful location and property. Worth every dollar.
Cons: The bed could have been better and the tv was a bit outdated. We didn't spend much time in the room so it's not a big deal but they definitely should purchase better mattresses.

Cons: The food was horrible, the ribeye beef tasted like rotted zombie meat.the bed sheets smelled like they were used and not clean.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is excellent for walking to restaurants and shopping or just going for a beautiful walk. The staff is friendly and very helpful They offered to carry our suitcases upstairs, very helpful with directions and places to visit. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. There is a nice sunroom for sitting and reading or watching tv. You can also sit outside on the premises which is very relaxing. Just remember that it is in the Victorian style which has lots of dark wood and smaller type rooms. There is plenty of hot water for showering. People in Oak Bay town are extremely friendly and helpful. The area is very safe. The restaurants are great and the shopping is delightful. We loved the galleries. We would definitely come back. This area was our favorite in Victoria.
Cons: Afternoon snacks would be nice.

Pros: Absolutely the best place in Victoria! The surrounding garden is amazing. Breakfast was superb!
Cons: Nothing! It was spectacular!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful breakfast, very accommodating to my boyfriend’s dietary restrictions! Duncan and Sergio seemed committed every day to making sure everyone had the best time possible.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Heather, the lady at the front desk, was absolutely phenomenal! She was super friendly and offered us some amazing suggestions for food. The eggs Benedict was incredible and the bed and breakfast was very cute!
Cons: The door stop to our room (garden room) made it a bit difficult to close as it would keep falling. Might need to tighten or replace it.
6.8 Good
Pros: Duncan was a great host and provided helpful information. The breakfast was first class and the staff were friendly and proficient. The server handled a very demanding family with ease and courtesy. The atmosphere and decor of the heritage home is well maintained.
Cons: The room we occupied was quoted as being cozy, very small would have been a better description. I appreciate the ambiance of the guest house but feel it is more expensive than it should be.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Bed was very good Location great
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful, took care of anything we asked without a problem. Breakfasts were wonderful, a sun room upstairs is available for coffee or tea anytime. The room was old school charming, needed a bit of paint and the fixtures were dated, but very clean and had a nice feel to it. Location was very quiet, Oak Bay is a very old established neighbourhood.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was wonderfully prepared, both for the palate and artistically. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was in a quiet residential area but still walking distance to a couple nice restaurants and close to the marina with a small park.

Pros: Nice location and quite. Its a very comfortable accommodation. The owner lady is very friendly. Accommodation is clean and I will love to come back here.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I have never stayed in a B&B before (didn't like the idea of being in someone else's house) but Weirs Beach Lodge's owner, Marg, made me feel so welcome and comfortable. She explained everything then attended to little acts of kindness along the way e.g. Got up early on my day of departure to make sure coffee was made. The house and grounds (right on a lovely beach) are fabulous. Has a yoga studio so I imagine a retreat there would be exceptional.
Cons: Parking lot is a bit tight for 6 cars - no parking if you have visitors.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place and its owner Margaret are very nice. The ocean view is amazing. The room is large, exceedingly clean, with everything imaginable for a truly romantic getaway including a very comfy king size bed. The hot tub under the stars was out of this world! The place is so quiet, you would think you are there alone. And the My Chosen Cafe 5 minutes up the road is sumptuous, be it breakfast or dinner!
Cons: - The sign on the road is almost impossible to see, especially at night. - We arrived at 8:15pm but the place seemed dead. With the phone on low battery, it took us some effort to make contact with the owner. Some means of internal communication would be nice. - It may have been the low season but we were surprised at total absence of services in the area. After dark, everything goes dead. No restaurants, very few gas stations, to say nothing of the nightlife; instead, incredible number of gyms, pharmacies, and real estate agencies.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My partner and I enjoyed the place so much. It's so serene and beautiful. The place was very neat. The beach is literally 30 seconds walk and not busy at all. It's away of the crowd which makes it very calming. We both really felt like we were on a vacation. The host was very accomodating and approachable. There are so many things to also enjoy at this place not only the beach but also the hot tub and almost an area to do some yoga.
Cons: It's about 30-40 min. drive from downtown so if you wanted to spend time lots in downtown, it'll be a drive.

Pros: We had the beautiful view room and it indeed was stunning having a direct view onto the beautiful bay. Cozy, neat and clean accommodation managed with a lot of heart and love. Marg, the host, did such a great job - we felt welcome and at home. Great breakfast with vegan options! Delightful!
Cons: Nothing
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Location is lovely, with a great view across the bay to Victoria The patio is also lovely with walks along the beach and a beautiful garden.
Cons: The hosting (Marg) is off with certain things I wish I had been made aware of: If you like privacy do not get the room downstairs as there are no nets or blinds on the window so people walking past can see straight into your room. You can close the black out blinds, but then you don't get the view, have to try the light on during the day! There is also the hot tub right outside. We had the pleasure of guest walking past in the morning and seeing us in bed! Bizarrely there are blinds on the french doors in the lounge area! The hot tub is also loud and goes on during the night (recirculation) we highlighted our concerns, told it would go off at nine, (rules say ten). Humming of hot tub constant all night, so didn't get much sleep, told Marg at breakfast we couldn’t sleep, told us she would look into it, nothing changed. The second night my wife had to leave the room at 1am due to constant noise from hot tub and went to try and sleep in the lounge until 4am before it finally went off. Be aware also the second door on ensuite opens into the dining hall, so anyone in there can hear you in the ensuite. We asked to change room upon arrival due to our concerns around the hot tub and lack on privacy but were told it was not possible even though there were spare rooms. Pillows were greasey and smelly, again when raised with Marg, she stated she couldn't smell it, but blamed it on her helper, she did change the pillows. The first night we were both itchy which we put down to dirty sheets. Oh and there was a pubic hair in the bath when we arrived, lovely. Attitude about booking breakfast. We arrived at 6pm after a long days drive and wanted to book breakfast (at an extra cost) to be told it was not available as Marg hadn't had time to go to the shops. We weren't even asked what we would like (just wanted toast & OJ). We then drove 5 minutes, 2 miles, up the road for dinner and found a grocery store, where we bought bread and OJ.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect -- walking distance to both Beacon Hill Park (which your staff recommended, and we loved) and the waterfront and everything we wanted to see in the city. We enjoyed the spacious, clean accommodations. I really liked the oscillating fans, which were quiet and efficient. We appreciated the opportunity to enjoy the delicious chocolate toffee for free because we declined to have our linens replaced (which we would have done anyway, to support the environment). My daughter loved the private movie theater.
Cons: Not the most comfortable bed - the mattress was a bit too hard, and the pillows way too over-stuffed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room should have included a washer and dryer but it was out for service. The hotel did our laundry for free with a quick turn around. This hotel is in a fantastic location, we highly recommend it.

Pros: I loved this hotel- it felt so luxurious with out the price tag. We had deluxe suite and we will definitely return.. It was close to the harbour and we could walk everywhere. The soaker tub was very relaxing, nice little touches like washer dryer and ipad doc made it even better We enjoyed it all very immensely
Cons: fireplace didn't work in either room and the hot tub jets were not very strong
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great rooms with everything you need
7.4 Good
Cons: We stood in line for 15 minutes (I counted) while ONE staff member dealt with ONE check-in ahead of us. (And there were people behind us...). Sure, she apologized when it was my turn, but who cares? Why didn't she call another staff member to check in others and speed things up? Why wasn't I offered an upgrade, or free drink at the restaurant, or one day free parking, or something as compensation? And we were staying 3 nights. Nope. A perfunctory apology was all I got. And don't tell me that a manager somewhere wasn't monitoring the various security cameras which observe that check in desk, so they knew - but apparently didn't care. Shameful. Very, very disappointing for a supposed luxury hotel.

Cons: I paid twice for the room, during the booking process and upon arrival. I didn’t get my money back nor a decent reply. I am very disappointed.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nestled at the end of Cook Street across from Beacon Hill Park, the location and the manor itself are amazing! I've stayed here before a few years ago and this time our room was larger and better. We stayed in the Camelot Room, which was super spacious with an amazing view of the Olympic Peninsula. (It would have been better if our large window had been cleaned on the outside to remove the sea spray, however.) Being on the top floor, the ceiling proved somewhat problematic as it dipped in some areas causing us to bump our heads at least once per day! That said, we enjoyed our stay and would book with you again. I love the feeling that we were not actually in Victoria's busy downtown area, which is only a short drive away. Lots of parking is available on the property and the street.
Cons: The breakfast has gone down in quality since our last stay. We only had it the first morning and decided to skip it the next three days.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Super location, right on the harbor, a few short blocks to the BC parliament building, the Royal BC Museum, the Empress hotel, Fisherman's Wharf. Lovely gardens in front of the Inn. Just across the street from the ferry to Port Angeles. The tea and breakfast was excellent in a beautiful setting. We had windows on two sides of the house so could get air circulating in the evening.
Cons: The breakfast had two set menus, which alternated by day, so became somewhat repetitive--delicious, but would have been too much the same after four days. (If the weather had been hot, the room could have been quite uncomfortable.)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was provided in a 'High Tea Style' on a Cake Stand. It was both delicious and unusual. The view across the harbour was stunning which could be seen from the bed. Michael checked us in and was very helpful and efficient and booked our tour to the Butchart Gardens, which was stunning. Loved Victoria!
Cons: No lift, but was not practical and would not be in keeping with the character of the building.

Pros: Location is superb, walking distance to the Harbor and Downtown Victoria. Everything is closed by. Breakfast is yummy!
Cons: Parking spots are limited. You need to pay extra $17 for parking.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location and the breakfast were really a highlight. We enjoyed staying there very much. Staff was friendly and helpfull.
Cons: We had some expectations regarding the room due to the pictures we saw at booking.com. Unfortunately the room was very dark due to a small window. Additionally the interieur was brown and dark also, which didn't improve the atmosphere.

Pros: All staffs were professional and so kind. Breakfasts were all made in house with locally sourced ingredients.

Pros: Great location close to the Inner Harbor, but in a quiet area. Even though I have some slight mobility issues, I was able to comfortably walk to the Inner Harbor in under 10 minutes. Pros: This hotel is really beautiful with great views along the inner harbor. We enjoyed sitting on the patio watching the seaplanes taking off and loved walking the path that runs in front of it along the water. The shuttle was very convenient and the driver very helpful in giving us favorite places where locals eat. Since it was only a mile or so from town, we enjoyed a wonderful walk back to the hotel from downtown after a day of sightseeing instead of taking the shuttle.
Cons: We weren't crazy about the food at happy hour.
