Functional and comfortable hotel, very close to the main railway station in Malaga and a short walk to the Alcazaba. 24 hour reception which was good for our late flight (we got the last train, just after midnight). Shower was very powerful! Breakfast at a sister hotel nearby, which was basic but plentiful.
The personnel was very friendly and the hotel had everything needed. Comfortable bed and clean room.
The room was not very much sound proof and I could hear the showers/toilets from the rooms around. Location is not very close to the center but easily reachable with 15 mins walk.
Lovely room and although we had to walk to a sister hotel for breakfast it was of very good quality. Very close to Maria Zambrano railway station.
A little smelly going to the old town next to the main road
For an advertised 2-star hotel I thought it was the best I had stayed in, given I have been in a few hotels over the years. Location was excellent I thought and accessible to the Rail station (Maria-Zembrano) as well as the beach, and the historical part of Malaga. Also, if you are catching buses to other parts of the region such as a day trip to Gibraltar the bus stop is easily reached. Note when I say easily reached it is in distances of no more than a mile. Staff were great and courteous, and I appreciated their help with my poor Spanish, and I also appreciated that they allowed me to leave them with luggage for a few hours after I checked out. The breakfast (buffet) I thought was quite adequate, especially with fueling up for a good day of walking ahead. The buffet on display is diverse enough for all tastes, whether continental, or if you want a little bit of a hot breakfast. Some people have mentioned about that you have to walk down the street to another hotel (Don Paco) to have your breakfast. Whilst this is true the walk itself is no more than say five minutes, and is just a couple of streets down. As mentioned the rail station is very easily reached, and there are a few shops there with restaurants. In addition, they have a good supermercado in there as well. Given that I stayed here in the last week the weather was still reasonably warm and quite humid. It also got warm in the hotel room, but all I had to do was turn on the airconditioning and all was fine. Good range of satellite TV channels to watch if you like a bit of TV. All in all I would definitely use this as a base again if I am travelling to Malaga and the general region again. If you are looking for a hotel that you can have at least a good basic place to base yourself without costing the earth then I have no qualms in recommending this hotel.
Cant think of anything I didnt like. I guess if I wanted to be real picky then it would be nice to have coffee making facilities in the room, but to be fair I dont think I should expect that in an advertised two-star. Just one thing about Malaga, and this is not the fault of course of the hotel, is that you need to make sure you are armed with a map or directions before you get to Malaga. There are not copious signs or directions around like, say the street maps inprinted around the streets of London.
Very quiet location, but pretty close to the centre. Very helpful and friendly staff.
