The building is beautiful and the attention to detail is to be congratulated, they upgraded us to a king suite on arrival and would definitely visit again!
They finish serving food at 9pm
Been here many times before live it
Only down side was being woken at 9.15am on Sunday morning by house keeping even though we were checking out that day !
The hotel was beautiful and I loved the funky music choices. It was miles better than the normal, boring "wallpaper music" that is bland and useless that hotels and restaurants often put on.
The breakfast was disappointing. The fried eggs were dry and overdone and the sausages were not quite right. I was annoyed by the idea that we would need to pay £8.50 for bacon and eggs which I presumed would be freshly cooked rather than standing around like the rest of it. Maybe I misunderstood but it seemed like a cheap trick.
Location great ambience fab
Fresh milk provided in hotel room! Massive bonus to have a cup of tea in hotel room with fresh milk and not horrible UHT cartons.
With its clock tower and striking Victorian architecture, The Principal Manchester is an unmistakable landmark in the city's skyline. A magnificent, terracotta Grade II listed building, the hotel has a history dating back to 1890, when it first opened as The Refuge Assurance Company headquarters. Opposite Oxford Road Station and just a 10-minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly, The Principal Manchester is perfectly placed for business travel and weekend getaways, and is close to many of the city’s attractions.
