Huge room, very tidy and clean. Lovely bathroom.
The room was nice but felt a little sterile.
Breakfast was superb although not much vegan options but that makes sense as very rarely vegans visit the hotel. Location was perfect for me as I wanted to be away from the city center and in a more isolated part of town (at the same time I walked everywhere including train station and center)
Lizards in the balcony (my personal phobia) , no kettle and coffee/tea set in the room.
This is an exceptional and unusual family-run hotel on the edge of Merano (we were told the centre was walkable, though not by us). An old villa has been extended with modern lower levels and a conservatory restaurant, which attracts diners from well beyond hotel guests. Our room was huge and luxurious, with fine views and a modern bathroom including both bath and separate shower. Food was superb, and breakfast one of the best of our holiday: it included a large selection of unusual regional cheeses.
Arrival arrangements are strange, and signage is lacking. Parking is at the foot of a very steep climb up to the hotel's basement levels, from which a lift up to the reception can be accessed by guesswork; it's not easy with heavy bags.
Very polite and attentive service. Hotel and restaurant are stylish and elegant. The breakfast buffet is magnificent, with multiple homemade delicacies from local fruit and pastries. This place is heaven on earth!
Very beautiful and characteristic hotel at a great location with a very beautiful view. Very friendly staff that speaks excellent english and takes great care and pride in providing the best service. The garden and the pool are located at various levels and overlook the beautiful landscape. Excellent restaurant and breakfast ! Our room was spacious and well furnished, definitely not your average hotel room! Nice parking facilities as well. We visited the gardens at Schloss Trauttmansdorff which were absolutely gorgeous!
