Bedsheet and toilet are clean.
Found a little cockroach hanging around the wall in bedroom after a short nap during the day. Going down to the restaurant for info, and figured out staff can barely speak English, gave us a number to call for hostel management, but after 4 calls, they were never answered and only entered voicemail. Overall bad service.
Cool place, excelente restaurant and the bedrooms are OK. Cheap cool option
Thought it would be a little better from the pictures...
I liked lying in bed staring up 20 feet to the ridge beam. I was a carpenter for many years and a building inspector. I look at structure and how it's put together. Also, this place gave me a convenient location for access to the inner city and the archaeology museum, the reason I was there.
I didn't like being in Milano in the dark trying to find Un Posto. My Italian is improving every day on this 7 week trip to the north, and I was forced to ask directions multiple times. I even asked a Milano policeman where I was ( I had a map ). The officer couldn't read a map. Amazing ! I always carry a language pocket dictionary in my cargo pants when I travel, which is roughly 2 months a year.
The farmhouse to “small boutique hotel” concept is very appealing and the property, restaurant and bar all supported a unique environment that is an oasis in the city. The restaurant food was very good and the spacious open air gardens and outdoor seating inside a walled enclave really added to the concept of a refuge. The staff were helpful and friendly.
This is less about what I didn’t like and more about some minor changes/upgrades that would make a positive difference for travelers that stay there. 1. Because the room we had for 2 people was very small and had no en-suite bathroom facilities, adding hooks and towel racks on the walls in the rooms, more shelving/storage space and mirrors would make it a lot easier for travelers to stay organized and feel less constrained by the limited space. 2. Although the website indicated breakfast was provided, because neither the restaurant or bar is open until 10 or later in the morning, there was no breakfast. There is a shared space for hotel guests to make coffee and eat food that they themselves provide. Considering the full kitchen restaurant and bar, how difficult would it be for them to provide some fruit, breads and yogurt in the morning. Every other hotel we stayed at (8) managed to provide breakfast. We were disappointed and annoyed that this was not included. Also, that section of the common space was not kept as clean/tidy as it should be. 3. Although we recognize that this is a cultural distinction and that a large percentage of Italians smoke, we wished that there could be some outdoor seating that was off limits to smokers. The blue haze that hangs over the area forced us inside even though it was a beautiful evening. In general, we encountered smokers everywhere and it was disappointing from a purely health point of view but also because every one around a smoker is also subjected to their smoke. 4. The beds were very comfortable and we applaud the hotel’s eco pursuits. Although we spent only 2 nights there, we thought the hotel should still service the room and detached bathroom. We had to look around for toilet paper, which we did find. Our stay was quite enjoyable , but some of the above minor adjustments would make all travelers stay more comfortable and result in a higher rating.
