Friendly helpful staff. Quiet location.
Adequate but unexciting breakfast despite excellent service. Rather dark décor. Town centre disappointing due to major scheme of improvements e.g. in the square which fronted the hotel (and the cathedral).
Our room was tiny but very comfortable. We had a modern bathroom, unique decor and strong air conditioning. It was located in a square next to the cathedral!
We asked for eggs with our breakfast but couldn't have them because the stove wasn't working.
Lovely public spaces, well decorated. Great shower. Good location close to town centre yet quiet at night at the same time. Air-con in the room which was not expected on the class of room I had booked.
The angry welcome of a shouted ‘Non Non Non’ as I entered with my bicycle, and then no niceness or welcome after that. - my card appeared to have been marked, and there was no way to recover! - not that I’d been informed in advance what to do, given that I’d told the hotel I was arriving by bike. My cycle being ushered in to a supposedly secure room, which when I returned at 06:40 to load it with my luggage I found to be open to the unmanned reception, and the door from the room to the street having been unlocked all night and openable by the handle from the street side. The breakfast was mean. For a high 9€, everything was in miniature to reduce how much guests ate - e.g. tiny glasses for juice, tiny cups for coffee, tiny pastries (no pain au raisin), baguette put out piece by piece as it was taken (no bread or toaster), no fruit. But dining out in the town was expensive too, so I expect I could not have done better at a cafe, hence the hotel doing it this way. Poor automatic lighting on the stairs which came on too slow, and twice went off before I got to my floor. In general there just didn’t seem to be any customer care or service, or long term care to build a good reputation and repeat custom.
The breakfast lady was fantastic
Not to be informed the room key can be used to open the main door after 10pm
We were all about location and value for money, this property was both.
