We stayed at the chalet many years ago and returned. The location is the excellent. You are a few metres from the Bourke Street Lift. You can ski in and Out. The room we had was spacious and clean.
The Hotel is now a bit outdated. It requires a bit of a refurbishment.
The location was excellent with our room overlooking the Bourke Street run. There was an onsite shop where we could hire ski equipment and the staff there were very helpful. The hotel pool was heated and there was a sauna as well which was very welcome at the end of the day. The drying cupboard in the room was a bonus.
Unfortunately, as it was nearly the end of the season, the main restaurant was closed. The only place to eat in the hotel was the Birdcage cafe which had a limited selection. This was more difficult for me as I am coeliac and there were very few gluten free options.
Large comfy bed. Good storage space. Good facilities, friendly staff.
Cupboards and room could do with an update. Bathroom tiles were cracked and mildew in corners. Blood on the bathroom door frame and switch. Not much choice in restaurant and coffee was like warm.
Location is arguably best on mountain. Great pool and spa and great sports shop in house.
Rooms, especially bathrooms getting pretty aged now, and “feature” bar and restaurant both closed for private, noisy functions. Got called day after checking out to let me know that I was overdue to check out that morning (ie I had already checked out a day ago).....overall, it’s not what it used to be, especially given price.
Access, convenience & staff
view from ground floor was into popo kitchen stair so the room was a bit dark as we had to keep the blinds closed.
