The location was PERFECT. It was a 3 minute walk to Bourbon St, a 10 minute walk to Frenchmen, and close enough to anywhere we wanted to go. The courtyard was also beautiful and well maintained, with a fountain, heated pool, and lighting that made it extra pretty at night. The lobby is also really nice and all interactions with front-desk, concierge, and maintenance staff were pleasant.
The rooms are old and need to be renovated, bathroom was small and dingy (but clean). Security is very lax, no key card is needed to enter the hotel late at night, or even use the elevator, so literally anyone can come in off the street and access all floors. We went to the Bistreaux restaurant twice, the first time it took so long to be seated we went elsewhere, the second time we got a seat but the service was slow, the food was just ok and it was more expensive than anywhere else (go next door to Vacherie instead, their breakfast is amazing!)
Room is great, houskeeping staff were great. Matthew in bar/Restuarant was super and informative, Front desk staff fantastic!
Only enjoyed the staff which helps all guests in a timely manner
The room was very plain did not look like photos advertised also asked for a balcony room on outside of hotel not inside by pool also patrons should be able to smoke on balcony of room very inconvenient
the food was very good. But we had the jazz brunch and our server was deplorable. We had to ask for a new server he was so useless. Also, they messed up our take-out pizza order and we had to go back for it later. They insisted on a tip even though they messed up. But, a lot of the servers were excellent!
Hotel is in a great location - near all the action but removed and quiet. Staff were super friendly. Lobby area beautiful, and the restaurant is very good. The hotel has character for sure. Bed was soft but comfortable and everything was clean.
Our "King Deluxe" was a very small room with a very small window on the 5th floor. King Deluxe says you have a king bed and a view and technically we did, but the window was super small. We did look into the courtyard and the room was quiet. The room had a damp musty smell and there was evidence of damp in the bathroom ceiling. I suspect that there are much nicer King Deluxe Rooms, and would make sure I booked one of those if staying again.
