The bathroom only had one bar of soap, should have for sink and for shower. They advertise bathrobes but should know if one or two people are staying and have enough robes.
Small Rooms
It was quiet
The rooms were SO tiny and I had a bug in my bathroom so wasn't sure how clean it was. Housekeeping did a poor job in my opinion.
Efficient!
The MAve, or the Madison Avenue hotel, is above all "Efficient." And I mean this in the best way. I stayed in the Full size room, and there is NO wasted space, but at the same time it is entirely feasible. The bathrooms are relatively spacious and clean, with new faucets and amenities. The bed was EXCELLENT, and the pillows were great. The front desk employees were VERY friendly and welcoming, even when I arrived quite late in the evening. Check in and out was SIMPLE and easy. Location is SICK beyond compare, particularly for the price.
Hot water took 5 minutes to arrive. Breakfast was kind of a joke, but it was free and I can't blame them for trying.
Perfect Midtown Digs
Our room was a nice size, had an awesomely comfortable King bed. Shower had power. Room got chilly but there was a window unit to fix that. The whole stay I did not hear one peep from any neighboring room. Street sounds of course but that is to be expected.
Breakfast is like a circling of the vultures. The table tends to run out of stuff and people wait to pounce. But the quality of the coffee and pastries is worth a small wait.
Charming
Awesome tv and music channels Nice bathroom. Comfy bed
Size of the room itself was tiny.
The location and price of this hotel was excellent. Staff was very friendly and remained smiling in the face of adversity. The room was small, but clean with relatively new fixtures.
The "free breakfast" is nothing more than coffee and pastry. It was good, but web sites should say "grab and go pastries and coffee." The front desk staff had to wear winter coats and use a space heater because the lobby was so cold. The hotel's internet was not working, so front desk staff had to improvise to process reservations. They did well and with good humor.
close to my work place
the room is size of king's bed
Perfect hotel, really clean & confortable.
The only weak point is that the windows insonorisation is not good.... you can hear a lot of noice from outside... taxis, alarms ,traffic ...
Central location, surrounded by good restaurants, friendly staff always willing to help and give advice
We had a double/double room and it was had plenty of room and it was very clean and well presented. The staff on reception were very helpful and complimentary breakfast excellent to get you started for the day.Very well located for seeing the city without being very noisy.
The staff was really helpful, friendly and polite. It is well located.
This hotel is very over rated here. They show themeselves as a design hotel in their pictures just because they have a red wall in the reception and some drawings on the staircase walls. The rooms are just white, plain with huge, ugly, brown furniture that takes up all the tiny space. The only light source in single rooms is a very bright white lamp on the roof. Not even a side table lamp. The shower has no door, just a glass panel that covers half the entrance, so every time you shower the whole bathroom floor gets wet, since you can't even regulate the intensity of the water. The place for having "breakfast" is a joke. It's just a tiny space with 4 chairs behind the reception and a table with some breads & coffee. Juice is charged apart.
It was so central to everything-staff were extremely helpful-very comfortable, great bed, bathroom and TV. Easy start to the day having coffee and pastries! We'll be back-thank you again.
Nothing
The staff was very helpful. Rooms are small but nice and clean. Comfortable bed.
The AC/Heating in the room was a very loud, and since insulation was poor you had to have it on all night wich affected our sleep a bit. Breakfast is just pastery and coffe - would be nice with a healthier choice as well...
Excelent location and extremely caring staff. The room was very small, but fulfilled all our needs and was consistent with the special offer rate we paid for (full price may have been too expensive for this room). Coffee was great, though the breakfast was not very appealling.
I missed curtain in the shower to avoid the water to spread on the bathroom's floor and missed more hanger for the towels. A fridge would be very usefull. The grab and go breakfast could be better. Those who would not arrive early for breakfast, would not find anything left to eat.
cleanness, desing
windows not soundproof
Friendly staff Nice location Comfortable room
No communal space in hotel No double-glazing so very noisy
Excellent location and service. The staff one of the best I have ever met. Refreshing experience among NYC hotels
It is a boutique hotel, so room is quite small, but still very functioning
