Staff, consisting mainly of the owners, was very friendly and courteous. The hotel free breakfast offered good selection and the quality was good.
It is difficult to rate our stay due to the ongoing renovations of which we were unaware when we booked the hotel a few days earlier. The hotel was in process of replacing most of the furniture in the rooms … tv, armoire, table, bedside tables and mirrors. The new furniture was in the room along with some of the old furniture, and the hallway was full of old furniture. The hotel would have been well advised to complete one floor at a time and not book rooms on that floor during renovations, or else have immediately removed the old furniture. Any room bookings allowed during this renovation should have been seriously discounted. The hotel is reasonable close to amenities, such as restaurants and shopping centres, although limited within walking distance as many of the local restaurants are across the street which could not be crossed at this location. The condition of the immediate area appears to be in decline since the majority of traffic on Dodge Road now travels on a bridge above where the hotel is. While current renovations are a good sign of progress, it is an older hotel and given its location makes is a budget level hotel and would be difficult to rate any better than average.

I had a leaky faucet but that was minor and reported. I was in a non smoking room yet there were ashes in the window sill and somewhat of a musky smell.
