Great place for sporty people who do not care about continuous stormy wind, chilly mornings and evenings, always rough and cool ocean, night loud sound of disco until 4 a.m in the morning. It's a place to go for water sports - wind surfing and kiting, excellent but difficult ocean runs in the morning (wind is extremely strong but scenery is wild and beautiful), exploring the island (Go to Kofete and you will be amazed). The hotel is located in the windiest part of the island which explains why the best surfing school on the island is just 200 m away and which makes you struggle with the wind at all times. Wind surfing school is very professional and excellently kept but if you are on a beginner's level it will be challenging! Don't give up though. You will even see some kids surfing in those huge waves and wind! Food is average. Stuff is always a bit overwhelmed but nice. The hotel itself is quite tired and shabby but there is a certain style and charisma about it and you will find it convenient afterwards - do not judge too soon.
Food can certainly be better. Some theme dinners like "Seafood night" or "Barbecue night" or "Italian night" could be introduced to make it more diversified. I also missed the Children Menu. Usually there is always a children counter with some children friendly stuff. There were lines for food in the evening and breakfast - quite long! It is not good when people line up for food - there should be more people serving. Food in the pool area for afternoon snacks was relally good though - you could always find some healthy and unhealthy snacks to enjoy including ice-cream, coffee, cookies and etc. So I realized it was worthwhile to take all inclusive - especially if you have kids who are very unstable eaters. Some of the gloomy pictures on the first floor could be changed - it creates the wrong impression. There is no drinking water in the rooms so may be it makes sense to have coolers on the floors. If it's all inclusive - it should be ALL inclusive, I had to pay for my Aperol spritz on top of all inclusive. It was not included. More wind protection for the pool and sporty areas like swimming pool or tennis court are needed. We lost 4 tennis balls and could never find them in the downhill area behind the court. Tennis court floor is horrible but you can play it still. Should be renovated. Towels have to be washed everyday for free not 1 euro per towel - this is not convenient. We ended up using the sandy beach towels all 10 days. One morning the floor on the terrace was simply covered with huge dead roaches. I could not eat my breakfast properly. They were everywhere! And nobody cleaned them from the staff as everybody seemed too busy. So before one woman showed it and said: "it is very dirty here, could you please clean!?!" Then the staff finally saw that and started to swipe them off. But the impression was very bad.
Breakfast, position, swimming pools
Anonymous staff, not very friendly. Lunch and dinner buffet. Mini club very basic.
Location, view. They arranged late check put for us despite the hotel being fully booked- was very helpful as we were travelling with a baby.
Shower (shower kept getting really hot and then cold).
We booked a room with half board and the so-called "The Level"-treatment, which I could highly recommend as it comes with several extras, such as a daily refill of the minibar, a secluded terrace with whirlpools and sunbeds, a more elegant restaurant (the Oasis) as well as several other comfort improving amenities. The location of the hotel in the middle of the dunes is superb and really makes it a one-of-a-kind experience. The beach, however, is quite windy compared to the beaches you'd find in Morro Jable (10 minutes by car), which of course is great for wind/kitesurfing (bookable over the hotel) but not so much if you're planning on relaxing at the beach (personal preference of course). If you're up for exploring the region a car is highly recommended (renting facility of Europcar is located within the hotel). The standard checkout-time is set at 12:00 which enables one to catch a good breakfast and pack without rushing.
Although the quality of the food served in the restaurant was excellent during our stay, a little more diversity would be a nice improvement. The staff is friendly but is not that well prepared for questions in english or german (doesn't apply to the restaurant employees).
