Interesting hostel tucked away in the middle of the jungle, as you enter a security guard will greet you and open the gate, driving up the path you pass a number of animals, ducks, goats, turkeys, then arriving at reception greeted by Angle, lovely lady. Rooms are basic, 10 bed dorm was comfortable considering you only sleep there, nice chill areas with hammocks, toilets and showers clean, only cold water in the showers, hot water shower still had cold water for me. Wifi only in common area. Breakfast was filling but not western, basic veg curry a little spicy one morning, with rice, banana and omelet, still nice tho.
Could be nice to have the option of basic eggs on toast with fruit for breakfast, wouldn’t be hard I think. Bike rental was expensive from the hostel 400 for 24hrs 350 for 12hr I think 300 for 4hrs, Highly recommend hiring a bike at the port for $250 per day, driving yourself out there, then you save on trike costs to and from, and you have wheels for the chocolate hills and tarsiers, and getting around the beaches, as main beach you need wheels to get to, was a good stay tho.
One of the best place we have visited during our Philippines holiday, great atmosphere, very helpful staff, the possibility of renting motorbikes, booking a trip, amazing food
Very nice place, a sense of nature. A courteous staff who help with everything. A great place to meet travelers from all over the world or just relax. Close to Alona Beach
It’s a farm!! You’re surrounded by the sounds of nature and animals. It’s eco conscious. The food is great, and it’s a 15 min walk to the beach. I don’t ride motorbikes but the manager helped me find extra people to share a van to do the countryside tour. We opted to do the ethical Tarsier sanctuary (Corella) and to avoid the pythons as it’s not ethical.
It is quite far out of the way if you don’t ride motorbikes but it’s so cool and comfortable it’s completely worth it.
It was relaxing and well set out.
The chickens kept waking me up at about 6/7am but that was also good because it meant I actually did stuff in the morning
