Convenient but noisy location
The hotel was clean and the staff were courteous. The location is really convenient.
This hotel is in the middle of the burlesque district. Furnishings are dated and it is impossible to sleep at night due to the amount of outside club noise. The bed was uncomfortable - 2 twin mattresses pushed together kept coming apart.
Love love love!
Incredible front desk staff! Great service!
Ornate rooms. Nice. 3-4 star. Staff at reception was very nice and accomadating. Small hotel. Elevator and stairs. Very very cozy. Private hot tub in one room is addictive. breakfast Is nice. Taxi stand right across street. Metro right there!!!! The breakfast staff so awesome. Cute breakfast room in basement. Overall great! It's very safe because it's locked hotel at all times. Camera entry. Secured entry.
Terrible wifi in some rooms. Paid 50$ of data because couldn't connect wifi. Awful coverage in some rooms. Neighborhood is sketchy but I literally walked everywhere and did fine. Even to the louvre. It's close to everything just be careful outside the hotel at night.
Left after the first night
Staff was pleasant, professional and accommodating. We left after the first night because we had so many problems, and they said they would refund our other two nights. Hopefully they will follow through.
Got locked in the bathroom because the door handle came off. Same thing happened with the front door of the room. Rooms were very, very small and the linens, drapes, etc. seemed very old. The shower had no shower curtain, so water went everywhere in the bathroom when you showered. This was made worse by only two towels being provided, both of which were too small to even wrap around your body.
A magnificent hotel with a sumptuous and theatrical rococo style interior, the Villa Royale is located in Place Pigalle in the heart of Monmarte, one of Paris' most famous art districts. Once frequented by Toulouse-Lautrec and Picasso, the hotel's intimate and cozy velvet and gilt interior harkens back to a time of unbridled luxury. Complimenting the hotel's historic ambience, modern amenities include rooms equipped with flat-screen satellite TV, a minibar and free toiletries. Many of the hotel's rooms offer spectacular views of the basilica of Sacré-Cœur, one of Paris' most famous landmarks. Nearby attractions This formerly Bohemian district is home to many of the city's most famous cabaret venues such as the Moulin Rouge, the famous dance club where the earliest form of the Can-Can was invented, as well as the Cabaret Pigalle, Boule Noire and Trois Baudets. Prior to the First World War the neighborhood was the stamping ground of some of the leading lights of French culture including Renoir, Van Gogh, Modigliani and Eric Satie. Today the streets are still filled with unusual boutiques and stores selling exotic groceries and musical instruments. Close to the hotel the museum of Romantic Life is a showcase of Romantic literature, painting and sculpture and is a must for fans of George Sand.
