The location is amazing. The hotel itself, though rather borking in decor is nice.
Management is terrible. Staff is undertrained. They smile a lot and are super friendly, but that doesn’t compensate for terrible shortcomings. Here are a couple of examples of how my 4 days trip was: - when reserving the property I was misinformed as to the status of the hotel. They are listed as “ski in-out” and I asked about this while on the phone with them discussing details of my booking. I was told yes. Where as this service is not available now, only later in December and the reservations specialist did not inform me that right now we would have to take a 10 minute shuttle to another resort to ski. Neither is this information available on their website. - also when making reservations I extensively inquired about their dining as my daughter and I are gluten and lactose intolerant. One of the reasons i picked this hotel was the japanese restaurant as that cuisine has quite a few options for us. Again the specialist on the phone failed to mention during that whole conversation that this restaurant opens 2 weeks after we leave as it is seasonal. - we rented a 3 bedroom residence at the cost of nearly 8k for 4 nights. Though the hotel is listed as dog friendly, they did not let me bring my dog as this residence doesn’t allow it (which by the way there is no information on this on booking.com, that the residences are privately owned and that there can be variation in rules). Once I arrived, what was very confusing is that they asked me if I brought the dog cos my booking was listed as with the dog. I was disappointed and confused as I left her at home because they said on the phone I would have to get a different residence at plus 2200 for the 4 days plus 400 cleaning fee. Which to me was a deal breaker. - the concierge are ones of the least accommodating I have come across. You need skiing school and passes - do it yourself, we don’t want liability (oh and i had to ask and wait 1 hour to get a simple email with a link to the school website).
Wonderful grounds and patios, fire pits. Helpful staff. Thank you, Elizabeth! Loved the natural feeling in the mountains, gorgeous views. Tasteful, classic decor, so clean. Bathrooms were luxurious. All rooms were comfortable and up to date, well maintained. Fabulous oil paintings.
Awful sales person in gift shop, the only unfriendly employee we encountered. Our transaction went through, approved, and signed, but she kept arguing that it didn't go through, and demanded our card again to resubmit it. Manager heard her, and pointed out it was only the printer that needed resetting to print our receipt, transaction was fine. Manager apologized, sales person did not. So very RUDE...
This place is heaven for family vacations. The hotel staff is thoughtful, the amenities are out of this world (archery! bowling! kid's camps! s'mores!), and the pool is perfect for making new friends.
Amazing property, fantastic location. Room extremely up scale down to the smallest details. Truly a luxury resort. One of our favourite getaways!!!!
