I did not like the free checking of all carry on bags. Knowing my bag was barely on the larger side for a carry-on bag, I played it safe and checked.mine in.....costing me $25!!!! Then Alaska Airline employees put he tags on everyone's suitcase like carryon to be put under the plane FREE OF CHARGE and they were delivered to them at the door of the airplane when departing! If I'd not been a conscientious rule follower, I could have saved myself 25 bucks and gotten better luggage service. It was also extremely frustrating that even if checked in online the day before, Alaska Airlines system promptly told me that after I completed the online check in process I would be able to choose my seat assignment. NOPE!!!!! THEY WOULDN'T LET ME GET S SEAT ASSIGNMENT UNTIL I GOT TO THE DEPARTURE GATES AND HAD TO WAIT AN HOUR BEFORE ATTENDANTS EVEN SHOWED UP AT THE GATE DESK!!"

"Boarding was a breeze. I like that they offered to check carry-ons. Considering we already had checked luggage it just made things that much easier. Drink options were good. I especially liked the bloody Mary mix with the lime packet. That was so delicious! Used to traveling other airlines where they have individual screens for each seat. Alaska does it different and you have to have your own device in order to access their media content."

Pros: "Flying Alaska airlines is always something I have a bittersweet relationship. I love almost everything that Alaska does to improve their airline. Their wifi is some of the best in the US and its very affordable. Their "picnic box" snacks are awesome and unique, better than what you will find elsewhere, they have USB and full AC outlets at every seat, and their rewards program is the best in the business. By all accounts, AlaskaAir would be my favorite airline out there. But the staff that Alaska hires is just so terrible. Everytime I fly with them, they have simply the worst staff. Pair this with some of the best features of any airline and it leaves me scratching my head on whether or not I want to fly with them or to fly with an airline like Delta which might have fewer frills, but offers much better staff to help you."

Pros: "N/A. Because of bad weather on Vancouver Island, my flight to Vancouver was delayed two hours and I missed my 230p flight to Seattle. Alaska had no other flights available from Vancouver that would get me to San Diego and other later flights that day from other airlines were over booked. I stayed the night and flew out the next morning on a direct flight to San Diego. The flight was fine. The flight crew was nice, they offered us drinks and snacks and the air condition worked. The reason I included the AC is sometimes it doesn't work and that's miserable. There's not too much else to add."

Cons: "I had booked my flight to take off at 2:30 PM, but when I checked into London Gatwick, my boarding pass given was 7:30 PM. Of course there's no Alaska desk so I couldn't ask anyone there. When I got to Vancouver, they said they weren't sure why I was bumped, but there were seats left on the plane. However, I had to go to the gate to change my flight because I had a checked bag. Got to the gate, and of course, it was sold out. And they told me they weren't sure if the 7:30 PM flight would be taking off. So I grabbed my bags, made my way via train/bus/hitchhiking across the American border where my dad picked me up. Never got a single reason why I was bumped in the first place."

My husband and I had a 20 hour layover in LA coming back from Costa Rica and we asked if we would have to pay another fee to recheck our bag for the second flight. They were very understanding and waived the fee since our overnight stay in LA was technically a layover and we had previously made the whole reservation for both flights at once using their company. Overall we liked our experience with Alaska and would definitely use them again!"

Cons: "On this A320 craft, old style, the First class seats are a joke. I had seat 2B. The pitch is apparently less than in the Comfort+ rows. The passengers in 1A and 1B started reclining even before departure, and during the whole flight. For me and my neighbor, with that seat on our chest, it was impossible to reach down to the seat-back pocket, not to mention to the bag stowed under the seat in front. To get out of the seat, I almost could not get my legs through the 5-in. interval between the back of the front seat and the irremovable armrest. I shook the passenger sleeping in 1B rather violently a couple times. The lady in seat 2B apologized, but she had to climb and put her feet on my seat to get out of hers, there was really no other way. Delta needs to address this ridiculous situation of their First Class seats urgently."

This was totally unacceptable, I was told I didn't select a seat on the seat selection screen and that I was now on standby. I specifically remember the seat selection screen being extremely misleading and thought that I had selected seats when in fact I didn't according to Delta. Maybe instead of focusing your website on getting customers to upgrade their seats you should focus on getting them a seat first. Secondly make sure tickets can't be purchased unless a seat is assigned first. Who would want to buy standby tickets 3 months in advance? I'm guessing not many people."

Cons: "I didn't like that this was my longest flight of 3 heading to Anchorage (13 hrs total for the trip home) and we were on one of the smallest planes in their fleet, ridiculous. The overhead bins were too small to fit my carry-on. The seats were 2, aisle, 2. Very cramped. No entertainment available, no monitors even on the plane. For over 3 hr flights it should be a more comfortable, bigger plane and definitely have free entertainment, especially considering we pay extra for baggage these days. It's like anymore, airlines try to nickel and dime u to death, before you know it your $250 flight is now close to $350... (I bought all one way flights) Also, I'm not sure if flight attendants check the bathrooms, but all of my delta flights the bathrooms were tiny and there was urine all over the floor. This flight in particular, the bathroom smelled worse than half outhouses I've used in Alaska."

Pros: "I liked what my dog liked. She always came out of her hard big kennel wagging her tail. She is small. Her hard kennel is like a hotel room. Iced water. Iced peanut butter. Soft daily blanket to sleep on. The kennel is strapped shut. WJ. Brings me a tag that shows me my dog is on board. I love flying Weat Jet with my dog. Be sure your dog is in a hard covered kennel with lots of room to stretch. Make sure it's strapped solidly shut. Weat Jet gives you plastic straps to do that. DO IT. Don't be lazy about it. Your dog depends on you to make it safe."

Like we had our classes as soon as we were reaching yvr. They wasted almost half an hour by sending us back and forth at yyc. I don't understand the fact that how a baggage with tag printed by the employees will be on same flight and baggage with the tag printed by us will be on next flight although we gave both bags at the same time. How stupid is this? I hope not to face this problem again in future."

Insisted on sending it as oversize/fragile baggage and assured me that it would be carefully handled and loaded up through an elevator to a special pickup place. I did NOT like the prospect of dashing from one place to another to retrieve both my suitcase and my guitar. (I am a working musician). Upon arrival, I was advised to go to an elevator on the south side of the building, and attendants would help me. No attendants, nothing. Went to an information booth, and they said "oh no, you need to go to the special American Airlines luggage office [at the far other end of the building] and they will have it." Ran down there....nope, no guitar. They said "oh no, you need to go to this elevator on the north side at the other end of the building." Tore down there....no guitar, nothing. Got the attention of an attendant who said he would ride the elevator down and look for it. I was beyond frustrated and worried. Just then, another attendant called out "oh, a guitar just came out on the carousel!" Yes, the regular luggage carousel, which meant that it had been thrown onto a cart and bounced across the tarmac and tossed onto the conveyor belt like a suitcase, which is EXACTLY WHAT THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT DO. It managed to survive, but I cringe at the thought of flying with them again."

This delay could be avoided if terminal services were more responsible. I always thought that the United provides the worst food in economy class. It appeared that BA food is even worse. The entertainment software was obsolete and delivered an image of a very bad quality."

No one showed up until 3 AM Monday morning. I took my frustrations to twitter and it looks like this is a common occurrence with British Airways."

I didn't like the length of time I had to wait at Heathrow, however, due to the canceled flight. It was several hours! My apartment rental landlord and I were both inconvenienced somewhat by the late evening arrival when an early afternoon arrival was initially scheduled."

The ground crew could have been more courteous with passengers for whom this was a great inconvenience. In my specific case, the person checking me in labelled my bad "Long Stay" instead of "Priority" because they misread the instructions on the computer. The person would not listen to me and would not re-check his potential error....I fly British Airways all the time and that did not seem to make a difference in his demeanor"

Cons: "The boarding started late (30 min before supposed departure), took much longer than expected because we needed to use the bus. Then we waited another hour on the tarmac. We were told it would be only a few minutes. Then we were told we would make up for the lost time, but that wasn't true and an additional half hour was lost on a holding pattern at LHR. We missed our connection. The instructions were unclear on what to do (contradiction between flight attendants and ground crew). By the time we picked up new boarding passes, we had already missed that flight as well and had to go to the customer service, which took another 45 min. Flight entertainment didn't work the first hour. There was a high pitched beeping sound during the whole flight (not the regular airplane noise)."

Cons: "We were involuntarily downgraded from Business to economy for our 9 hour flight from London to Mumbai. Outside our party of 3 there was also another party of 3 in the same boat as us. It seems like British Airways is too aggressive with overbooking the higher end sections of the flight, which seem much less likely to have people 'no-show' (either because it's for work or because they've spent so much for the tickets)."

After flying 15 hours in one day, nothing could make me feel so good than the fluffy smooth landing. I wish I could give a "King of Smooth Landing" award to the captain!!!"

Then at midnight we received the noticed they cancelled the flight but before we received that the attendance at the counter all left. The display above gave us a number to call or we could go wait in a line with over 100 other people we started to for about 1hour and was on hold on the phone at the same time as we watch customer relation people leave while the line got bigger. Soon there were only 4 people with a long line. We left after 1 hour but stayed on hold on the phone. After over a hour we finally got through on the phone. The next fight isn't till sat even, we were leaving Thursday so we said we needed to cancel our flight. Instead of them doing the cancelling and refunding our money we now need to login after 24 hours with or tickets an request a refund. The fun doesn't stop with American Airlinees. We have flown them in the past for years and their service has gone down terribly since the take over."

If you offer seats on rows with no window, it should be at a discounted fair and the airlines should explain there is NO window on that row. (This would be extremely helpful for those that experience claustrophobia.) I was very disappointed because there was NO window. One of the flight attendant that served me drinks was very agitated (she was having a very bad day) and it was apparent in her service."
