Chabil Mar - Placencia - Patio

9.7 Excellent (139 reviews)
C$ 520+
Overview Reviews
Located in Placencia, this beachfront resort is in the historical district and within a 5-minute walk of Placencia Peninsula and Placencia Beach. Belize Barrier Reef is 1.3 mi (2.2 km) away.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved how clean and spacious the villa was and the beach was kept spotless, the service was friendly and attentive. We loved everything about Chabil Mar, can’t wait to come back.
Cons: No issues at all! Except I regretted not getting bug spray but they do sell it on property.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The resort was wonderful. All of the employees were very nice and accommodating and went out of their way to make our stay truly memorable. The food at the resort was very good and was the best food that we had during our 10 day stay in Belize. And the best part is that they bring your meal wherever you would like...in the room, on the patio, by the pool on the pier. On the booking.com website it indicates that all rooms have king size beds (extra large double beds). However that was not the case. Our sea front room had a queen size bed at best and since my husband is 6'7" the bed was very small. When we asked to move to a room with a king size bed, the staff not only obliged but upgraded our room to a two story very deluxe villa. If a king size bed is a requirement, please be sure to ask when making your reservation. We got lucky as there was a last minute cancellation which allowed us to change rooms to the upgraded villa. The resort offers different activities on different days so that you can do as much or as little as you choose. Fabulous!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great accommodations, exceptionally friendly staff, delicious food
Cons: It’s walkable to the village but it’s more than a short stroll
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of our favorite vacation stays ever. This was our splurge on our trip to Belize and we were so delighted. Everything was gorgeous, well run and you will feel pampered. The beach is very well kept and the two pools and pier are gorgeous places to relax. I spent one whole day on the pier and my two teenagers and husband went back and forth from hammocks, the room/condo, the pool, and the pier. We didn't coordinate when we ate. Everyone just ordered food when and where they liked and that was really a vacation from the vacation. The staff are so professional and attentive. And a huge bonus to housekeeping and the office staff for mailing us some left-behind items.
Cons: The only down side is more about Placencia than about Chabil Mar - when there is no breeze, the water can feel more lake-like than ocean and the bugs can be bad. If there's a nice wind, there is some surf and the bugs are kept at bay. Also, you can technically walk to town but it's along the one main road and not a super pedestrian friendly walk.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Bed was great!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff. Food was amazing. Rooms unbelievable !
Cons: Drinks a bit pricy but super good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Chabil Mar was a fantastic place to say. It truly exceed our expectations and I cannot wait to be back with the rest of the family! Great for a romantic trip OR a family vacation. Literally steps from a gorgeous beach with wonderful, swimable water (great for kids) and lovely big pools! Hammocks with every room and delicious food. You can eat any meal, anywhere on the property that you would like! Truly special place. Photos don't do it justice! Also can rent a golf cart and drive to town (3-4min) or walk to town! Placencia is a great place for families and kids. They also have a great beachfront in town that's ideal for little little kids and is an easy place to snorkle. Could not recommend chabil mar more! They also have free bike and kayak rentals. Stay here!

Pros: Absolutely everything!!
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This property exceeded my expectations. The location is A1, the property and grounds are fantastic. Beautiful villas situated in the most wonderfully kept gardens. The villas are beautifully furnished with every you may need. The staff are fantastic and make you feel really at home. A little oasis right on the beach and so close to Placencia.
Cons: I think the only thing that you can improve on is the happy hour. This is not really a happy hour reducing the drinks by $1 does not make me happy.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We celebrated my son’s 8th birthday with a family dinner on the pier. The staff and chef went above and beyond what we anticipated. When my son left his stuffed animal in the room the day we left, they were even kind enough to airmail it back to us. Truly great resort! We will be back.

Pros: Beautiful spacious room with kitchen and large balcony.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to accommodate my plans - even starting breakfast earlier than normal so I could make my tour in time. They serve a full breakfast that includes coffee/tea, juice, fruit, and other rotating items. It is served on the rooftop which has an amazing view over the ocean. There was an issue with one of the a/c units in my room and they quickly took care of it by installing a window unit so the room stayed cool. The staff greeted me by name and were very friendly and helpful with recommendations of local restaurants and tour companies. The property is right on the ocean - literally steps away from the hotel. I enjoyed listening to the waves come in while laying in the hammock on my balcony. Highly recommended!
10.0 Excellent
Cons: I believe the amenities on Trip Advisor state there is api but there is not
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every detail of the hotel and rooms is well thought out. The rooms have a lot of touches that show real consideration for the guests. Examples: beach towels, kayaks, bikes, high quality A/C, labeled coffee and accessories, juicer, comfy bed, cooler to take to the beach, tiled shower, lounge chairs, free ride to/from airstrip, external showers to wash feet, high quality breakfast, and so forth. This is one of the nicest guest houses we have stayed in anywhere in the world.
Cons: Not enough time there!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The situation directly on the beach is perfect. The rooms are furnished with a lot of love and very clean- a very good vibe. Both holders are absolutely lovable, we've felt totally comfortable. The accommodation is to be recommended in all of it.
Cons: all good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Phenomenal in all areas, just steps from the sea, extraordinary staff always ready and available to help, immaculately maintained inside and out, and by being embedded in Placencia village we were always just a short walk to restaurants, grocery stores, excursion departure points, etc.
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: The owners, Barbara and Evan went above and beyond to help us plan excursions. And the attention to detail at the hotel were amazing. Couldn’t of asked for a better vacation!

Naia Resort & Spa, nestled within a private 200 acre reserve. An intimate resort and spa that iscasual yet elegant. Naas 35 beach houses are spread over a quarter mile of pristine palmstudded beach. Our most outstanding feature is the destination spa. Our extensive menu oftreatments, spa rituals and personalized wellness programs has been carefully developed inharmony with our inspiring surroundings.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was so helpful and energetic. The rooms were always emaculately clean. The food was good. And the shuttle took us in town or to the neighboring resorts. The pool and inland beach area was relaxing and always enough lounge chairs available. The crew cleaned the seaweed everyday, sadly the beach is not meant to swim in due to the location of the resort. If you can get passed that, everything was amazing from the spa to the fitness center to the bar scene. Many thanks!
Cons: No beach to swim
7.1 Good
Pros: The South African manager, Wilhelm was incredibly helpful and competent!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was outstanding, facilities were new and beautiful, landscaping was gorgeous, food was delicious. Overall a really terrific stay and a great choice for families.
Cons: The beach had a bit of a seaweed issue, as did all the beaches on Placencia but the staff did a great job keeping it under control
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service and hospitality from the moment I was in touch with the resort after booking. So helpful with anything that you may need, from airport bookings/transfers and activity reservations. The property was very nice, a little removed from the hustle and bustle that may be encountered at other resorts. Naia definitely does not skip details. My beachfront room/casita was even better than the pictures depicted. I fell in love as soon as I walked in! The bed! The bathroom and soaking tub! The outdoor garden shower! I truly feel that Naia had the right idea when it came to property planning and unit design. The yoga studio and instructor was amazing. The spa— wow! The spa experience was AMAZING - the facilities are tucked among mangroves and staff are unmatched. The meal options at the on site restaurants were great as I ate on the property for all meals and each one was delicious! The restaurants even attracted non-Resort guests to dine. The only regret I had was not partaking in any off-site excursions - however as a solo traveler with most (if not all) options requiring two people minimum and it was a slower/low season, I was limited - which was fine since the purpose of my trip was for relaxation and there was much to keep me occupied on the property. I’m already looking forward to a future stay at Naia.
Cons: That I left sooner than LobsterFest was to begin! More lighting on the property - hard to see on the walk back to my building after dinner (especially being alone!). Unpredictable timing of housekeeping - one day the staff came at 11:30am, another day it was 2:30! So it was just easier for me to hang a “Do not disturb sign”. Otherwise, it was a nonissue!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Service at restaurant; yoga class. Flowers in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great resort, enjoyed our private plunge pool and ocean views. Great staff, wonderful experience, looking forward to returning
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great welcome, villa beautifully prepared which is very cleverly designed including a large private warm outdoor shower...Excellent, friendly, attentive staff. Idyllic position. Great spa facilities in wonderful landscaped setting...
Cons: Bar needs to have better music and atmosphere...maybe a ‘Tiki’ bar so people can have drinks against the beach setting instead of the rather gloomy upstairs ‘1981’ restaurant..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is friendly and they really go out of their way to assist and make suggestions, and the rooms and amenities were exceptional
Cons: Nothing!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Pictures on the web site don’t give it justice. The beach front bungalow are right on the beach with unobstructed view of the Caribbean Sea. The staff was courteous, polite and always smiling. Don’t hesitate to ask them about things to do or see in Placencia and surroundings. The spa was experience was wonderful with a great staff and location in the midst of lush tropical scenery and water. If you are into yoga I recommend the little onsite studio. Great teacher. The dining in was great with fantastic local food. Thumbs up to the smoke red bell Pepper soups and the freshness of the seafood.
Cons: The mosquitoes.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: From the arrival to departure we were always net with smiles and friendly conversations. Everyone was so helpful. Making sure you were always directed in the right direction to get the most out of your stay. NOTHING was disappointing. The warm greeting displayed outside upon your arrival, to the precious decorations found in your room. Fresh flower petals, leaves with your names on it., makes for a warm reception. Loved it, loved it, loved. Can't wait to return.
Cons: I didn't stay longer

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This resort was great. It's not directly in Placencia Village but you don't feel too far removed - a less than 10-minute drive. The rooms were spacious, clean and nicely appointed (great AC, great WIFI). The true gem of Laru Beya is the infinity pool overlooking the beach. The staff was attentive, the Quarterdeck restaurant was a great amenity (any item could be delivered to the pool). We wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely be back.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Right on the water. Quiet and beautiful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was great! The staff was amazing and definitely made you feel welcomed!
7.9 Good
Pros: The helpfulness of the staff and the way the room was set up upon arrival. Also, the chalk board saying welcome was a nice touch!
Cons: The distance that the resort was from the village. In addition, the prices for the food was a bit too high, and the level of spice added to the coconut shrimp curry was almost unbearable for me to eat, which meant my girlfriend who ordered it could not.
Turtle Inn - Placencia - Pool
7
9.1 Excellent (166 reviews)
C$ 760+
Overview Reviews
One of Francis Ford Coppola’s trio of Central American resorts, Turtle Inn hotel in Belize mixes a sprinkling of glamour with its stylish rusticism. Wander from your Balinese-style beach shack across the seemingly endless stretch of white sand, and nap in brightly coloured hammocks strung between bending palm trees after diving into the sun-sparkled sea.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was kind, exceptionally professional and promptly attentive. I loved the hibiscus
Cons: I didn’t realize that this eco-friendly hotel didn’t offer air conditioning which compromised our mid-July stay comfort level. We had several fans in our room which helped. The hotel was a bit sophisticated for my more casual teenage children.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food was incredible, the staff are all so friendly and helpful and the location is unbeatable! I would certainly recommend the turtle inn.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We had the best experience at Turtle Inn beginning from the moment we arrived and were greeted by the friendly staff. We loved the decor and location of our cabana room, especially the outdoor shower and in-room breakfast. Turtle Inn organized tours to Monkey River and snorkeling to Silk Caye. We were blown away by the snorkel trip and appreciated how the staff worked with my husband and myself to allow us each a snorkel experience while the other supervised our toddler. All food we had on site was excellent, especially the fish tacos. The hotel was situated a bit farther than we normally like to stay from the center of the place we visit, but Turtle Inn provides free bicycle rentals for guests, including some bikes with child seats, so we were able to access Placencia on a 10-12 min bike ride. We were a little concerned five nights might have been too much, but it was the perfect amount of time for us. One night more may have been stretching it in terms of activities, but we had plenty to keep us busy for a full four days. A highlight of our year so far!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this resort is amazing
Cons: Nothing to dislike
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Turtle Inn staff make your visit a stay seem like your are home with your favorite friends
Cons: No a/c can be tough if your casita is blocked from beach breezes.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: TL:WR the Turtle Inn is incredible! My wife and I recently returned from the trip of a lifetime, courtesy of the Turtle Inn. As soon as we arrived we were blown away from their never-ending hospitality; initially involving a welcome cocktail, brief overview of the property and a tour of the immaculate grounds. We were also fortunate enough to stumble across the small onside garden/farm early on in our stay, and were graciously given an insightful tour inclusive of all sorts of edible delights! We then continued to enjoy their fresh, home-grown produce throughout the rest of our stay during our fantastic meals at Mare (the main restaurant). Our weeks stay involved numerous activities and adventures including two-days of learning to dive with Bernard (who was incredibly patient and helpful despite a personal battle with motion sickness), snorkeling, sailing (using the Turtle Inn’s beach catamaran), monkey-river adventure, sunset-cruise and several trips into the nearby village. While each excursion was uniquely impressive, our daily welcome back to the resort was virtually comparable. Each day our return to the resort somehow coincided perfectly with happy hour at the beach bar, where Rod and Silvano rustled up never-ending concoctions of the tastiest fruit-infused cocktails paired with local Belizean rum. Regardless of how busy they were, they were always eager to hear about your day and engage in genuine, friendly conversation (something of a rarity here back home!). Equally impressive were the beach team of Ylnan, Javier, Luis and Bamboo who provided us with all sorts of beach games, activities and equipment throughout our stay. It was a pleasure to get to know each and everyone of them. In the evening we dined at all three of the resorts restaurants (local flavors at the Gaugain Grill and Auntie Luba’s, where the food was homely and enjoyable). We personally preferred the superior quality of The Mare restaurant, where each meal was a true delight.
Cons: Less mosquitos! (hardly the resorts fault though...)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: What makes the Turtle Inn so special are the quality of the people working there and the wonderful environment they create. Upon arrival, you are welcomed as family and anything you need will be done, with warmth and smiles!
Cons: Every need that we desired was met by the various people who make Turtle Inn run.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and service at Turtle Inn is phenomenal! Everyone remembers your name and are so friendly and happy to assist you with anything you need. Turtle Inn has the BEST service I’ve ever experienced!
Cons: There was nothing that I didn’t like!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location just steps from the sea. The staff is the kindest I’ve experienced in years.
Cons: Bring your bug spray!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Turtle Inn is an extremely beautiful resort with an amazing staff. We were welcomed at the airport by Javier and greeted with a welcome drink at the resort by a second Javier at the front desk. Freshly baked cookies awaited us in our breathtaking cabana and we had a romantic (and delicious lobster) dinner on the beach under the moonlight at Gauguin Grill -- Ronnie as our waiter and he was fantastic (knowledgable, soft spoken and friendly). As we were at Turtle Inn for too short of a stay this time around, we had the pleasure of meeting the GM only on our way out -- we didn't get his name but very much appreciated him taking the time to say hello. We plan on coming back to Turtle Inn as soon as next year -- and bringing the whole family with!

Pros: Most importantly, slept soundly on very comfortable bed. Also located in the heart of all the action including countless fine eating places.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice position in the middle of town close to bar, restaurants and shops. Well kepth garden area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: First of all, Placencia is small and can easily be traveled by foot. The location is two blocks from the point which is a beautiful spot to swim. You are right on the only road in Placencia and one block from the Sidewalk. Our unit was covered in beautiful trees with flowers and lots of native birds and iguanas. It was like living in a treehouse. We stayed in the butterfly unit which is on the second floor with a large screened in porch. Steve, the owner of this property and his beautiful family were more than accommodating and friendly. When my daughter got sick, he even offered to drive us personally to the local doctor. Staff were always friendly and helped us with cabs. They have a laundry service which is incredibly reasonable that was great! We could not ask for a better place!
Cons: We love this property so much. The only thing we would change would be the seating arrangement in the living space. But, if you are not watching TV, then it’s perfect. Unfortunately my daughter got sick during our trip and we watched TV on the sofa while she rides covered. Otherwise, we would not have been watching TV in this beautiful country.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very helpful staff. Good size room.
Cons: No negative points
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are well kept and cozy. The photos online are a true representation of the real rooms. That’s very important. The beach are restaurant are close and in walking distance.
Cons: The shower head in the bathroom kept dripping. I closed the door so I didn’t have to hear it while I slept. However just the fact that good water is being wasted bothers me. That’s the environmentally conscious side of me talking.

Pros: Location, location, location and the staff was excellent.

Pros: The staff was excellent and made sure that the guests felt welcome. The property was clean and configured so guests have privacy while still being close to the restaurant, office and pool. The cottage was authentic and relaxing.
Cons: The cottages have no air conditioning but fans keep you cool enough to be comfortable.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff, the vibe, the bungalows and the food
Cons: Location is maybe a bit far from Placencia, without a car you can only reach by bus or taxi
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fun restaurant with memorable food. I heard the waves lapping the shore nightly. Amazing sunrise viewing right from my front deck. Five steps and you are walking on sand!
Cons: There was a little secondary smoke drifting in my room from a neighboring cabana on night 1. The problem went away.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great food. Warm ocean. Calmness.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A simple, comfortable cabana on a private beach + pool + charming landscaping + small but excellent restaurant/bar + friendly staff = a perfect vacation! Not luxury accommodations but Singing Sands has everything we needed and wanted, at a great price. The owners & staff are extremely helpful, made great recommendations, and booked fabulous excursions for us. They have bikes & canoes too. We and our teenagers felt so comfortable there--a completely relaxing, peaceful experience, which was exactly what we wanted.
Cons: A few more towel bars or racks for hanging wet towels/clothes would be appreciated. Also, the first few days, there were no cushions on the beach chairs. I was sitting on them anyway, wishing they weren't so hard (they're wooden). The third day, lo and behold, chair cushions appeared! I wish they had been put out the other days. But very minor complaints all in all.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was very near to the beach and a short walk from my go-to coffee shop and breakfast spot. There were two fans available in the room I stayed and enough shelves and hangers to unpack comfortably.
Cons: Remember to wear your bug spray if you're outside near sunset!
7.1 Good
Pros: Very nice shared kitchen for cooking. Guesthouse is located close to the beach. Supermarket is only 3 minutes away. The balcony on 1st level is very nice for chilling in the evening.
Cons: Very small room. It was very hot and no fresh air. A/C not available, only fans.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good value for money and exactly what we were expecting- a room. The room had a fan for each of us plus and overhead fan and there is drinking water provided in the kitchen.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff, ease of booking .. regardless of why you come to placencia Lydia's is an awesome place to stay. Kitchen is ridiculously loaded way easy to cook if that's your thing. Super safe I tend to travel solo and love this property. Shared bathrooms, but always available. Just perfect.❤
Cons: There's NOTHING to not like ever, at miss Lydia's!!
7.9 Good
Pros: Lydia is really friendly, good location. Free water. Would stay there again.
Cons: Rooms should have air-con. Kitchen closes at 8.30 pm
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lydia is a very kind person. Rooms are clean and there is a shared kitchen. Good prices.
Cons: Wifi was not working and there were no AC. You can't wash clothes in bathroom.
6.3 Good
Pros: This place is soooo close to the beach! There are beach chairs that you can take out with you, which is super amazing! This place is located next to several restaurants, and grocery stores.
Cons: So this is not a guest house but rather a hostel. There are six rooms on each floor and 2 1/2 baths to share amongst everyone. The owner was quite admit that we only use the bathrooms on the floor we were staying on. The kitchen is open from 6:30am - 8pm and if there is more than two people in there is becomes a very tight space to move around in. There is also no breeze that flows through the kitchen which makes this hallway style room very hot! The WiFi is nonexistent at this place unless you are in the kitchen.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, 1 minute to get to the beach, 5 minutes to get to town.
Cons: Maybe not the best place for solo travellers if looking to meet people.
7.9 Good
Pros: The place was clean and the staff was friendly.
Cons: We were told to be more quiet by the staff. They claimed we were making a lot of noise but in my opinion we were pretty quiet. My friend had a bad cold and he was coughing a lot so I don’t know if it was that or something else.
5.0 Okay
Pros: That i had fun in placencia
Cons: No television in the rooms

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were exceptional. The resort is older but we were very comfortable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were all very friendly and did everything they could to make our stay a good experience. Loved the pool and our patio and the view of the ocean. Very relaxing.
7.5 Good
Pros: Quiet peaceful property. Property was clean and staff was attentive for the most part. We would of liked to be able to walk the beaches. The pro of not being able to walk them is the area is not over developed. You need to take a cab to get to most restaurants. Again not that big of deal. Roberts Grove should consider using their two nice vans as a taxi service for guests. They just sit there unused most of the time. We would stay here again.
Cons: We like everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Robert's Grove was absolutely wonderful, one of the nicest resorts I have ever stayed at and the nicest place we stayed at in Belize. The staff were all very friendly, the food was delicious, great breakfast every morning with fresh fruit, juice, coffee and eggs cooked to order which is a nice bonus. The property is well taken care of, very beautiful with lots of trees and plants, this provides not only beauty but privacy, shade and great bird watching. The three pools are very clean and so nice to swim in and are right on the water front. We went there on our honeymoon and loved it, waking up to the sounds of the ocean and birds was truly relaxing. We didn't want to leave!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful. They made our stay very enjoyable.
Cons: Breakfast buffet selections very different from our visit in 2015. Food tasted great.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We loved our beach view room, the comfy bed, and the big bathroom. We hung out on our porch with drinks every night with the ocean breeze. Breakfast was included in the package which was good. A short walk to the docks which had a beautiful sunset view.
Cons: The staff had little knowledge about the excursions. The beach was very windy with a lot of seaweed, which we understand is not their fault. They were cleaning it the day we were leaving which looked a lot better.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nice location
Cons: Dated, old, and run down.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was the great. The pools were nice. Beach front location was beautiful.
Cons: We got bumped up to a larger room for the first night due to occupancy issues. The next day was disrupted because we had to pack up and move. The room was smaller but OK. The room A/C did not work and we reported it after a hot and sleepless night. The next day it was reported that it had been fixed. HOWEVER, it had not and we had another miserable night. They moved us to another room and it was excellent! The staff was not as friendly as the other 3 resorts we stayed at on this trip. The facilities need updating.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The first few days our seventy was interrupted by kids in the pool swearing, screaming. Was not expected. However the last couple of days security resolved the issue
Cons: Breakfast could have a little more variety.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place, direct at the beach, perfect for relaxation. clean beach and pools, not far from Placencia village. The staff was very friendly and helpful With a car a lot of nice places can be visited, but it needs 1-1,5 hours of driving
Cons: Very weak and slow internet......one of the slowest we had in Belize. The furniture is a little bit old school, but acceptable

7.1 Good
Pros: On the beach
Cons: I really didn't know how far away it was from everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were right on the beach with a beautiful view. I loved the open windows with the wooden shutters to let the breeze in. We enjoyed the outdoor shower and the dock with the hammocks and lounge chairs.
Cons: No coffee pot in the room but the coffee was available by 6:15am.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property and great friendly staff!
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location, in front of the sea. The cabin is ok.
Cons: The manager, I think his name is Leo, unfriendly, incapable to smile, none advice, tips, etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the staff was wonderful, so accommodating
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Awesome place. We were planning on staying two nights - so happy, stayed seven! Leo and his team were so accommodating and totally looked after us. If we needed anything- Leo made it happen.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Quiet, lovely beach and setting. Nice paddling and snorkeling to island nearby. Very helpful, pleasant staff! Great to swim right off the beach when you get hot lazing in the hammock! Stand alone cabins were basic, not fancy but had old school charm.
Cons: The food was good and so convenient but it could have been a little more creative or varied. More fresh fruit and veggie varieties or salad options would have been enjoyed.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location was awesome. Very close to the beach. It was a bit of a drive to nearby Placencia, but was nice to be away from the business of the town.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff helped us arrange activities. Restaurant and pub on site served decent food.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Staff
Cons: See through shower walls/floor, rundown, need of a pool, Seagrapes cabana in need of repair and update, large holes in floor/walls for drain/electrical wires coming in (2.5” holes for 2” pipe) should of been sealed around all drain pipes and electrical wires coming into cabana, meals were overpriced and substandard, was way overpriced for what you get, definitely will not recommend or go back . I think Booking.com should return the cost of our cabana during our stay at The Green Parrot Beach Houses and Resort!
5.4 Okay
Cons: the beach and water was rather dirty (sea weed) - compared to other beaches, here they were not cleaned. if there is no wind from the sea, the room gets very very warm as there is not AC. at the end during the check-out there was a mess with the costs and the transfer into town costed at once 20 USD

9.6 Excellent
Pros: A/C with private bathroom. The owner/Mgr was such an amazing lady! Comfortable bed with little bit of home feel. Mini fridge in room.
Cons: Too much light in room even at night. Shower could have little bit more pressure but overall great!

Pros: Great management, made ya feel right at home. Safe area right by the beach! Also close to the bus stop!
Cons: Loud bar next door. Although some might count that as a plus.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff, convenient location. The staff does everything to accommodate your requests.
Cons: Late check-in time and for the price the room was below standard.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Hotel near the beach
Cons: Parking facilities, tv location, shower nobs hard, needs replacing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lans the owner gave us such good advices... he helped us to book some activities and restaurant... he also knows a lot about the history of Belize... Thkx !!!!
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location for everything in the village. Also beside the bus stop and the jetty for ferry from Independence. Its clean (the young man who comes to clean is very pleasant and hardworking) and comfortable. There is a kitchen.
Cons: The Serenade has great potential but it could do with an upgrade eg some signs for reception/kitchen and some more furniture for the balcony area. The alcove bed needs a fan. There was a problem with the TV cable coverage which was fixed but went again.
7.9 Good
Pros: Decent value for the money. Anna the manager very nice. Good wifi. Close to the great beach. And restaurants!
Cons: Close to a bar where there was noise.. But hotel couldn't help that. Bed needs a foam topper, but what do u expect for the price?

Pros: Great beach location and the owners really give you personal service.
Cons: Not luxury fixtures but comfortable and very good for the price.
5.4 Okay
Pros: That it's right on the Caribbean Sea.
Cons: The property is a piece of land! the buildings on the property are what I had an issue with, in particular! my room, #5. An investment in some paint alone would of made a huge difference.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Steve and Peggy are wonderful. They spoiled us!!! and the food was awesome.
Cons: Absolutely NOTHING!!!!! Everything exceeded our expectations!!! We felt like family.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The local staff very attentive and friendly - ask Seril to cut a coconut for to drink. The meals made by Ana and Tyrzah at your request are delicious The owners kind and willing to help in any way possible. Wonderful location with perfect beach for children - very long shallow area and dock to jump off or lounge on. Amazing beachfront pool area. Wonderful views from the wraparound porches and my favorite spot, the hammock.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The hotel itself is nice but dated. The grounds are very well maintained however the area is not good at all. The beaches past the property are very dirty and full of trash and seaweed that come in every single day. It's a shame such a beautiful stretch of beach is ruined. The hotel is far from the main area where there are many restaurants. You cannot venture out or walk out of the resort, there is nothing in the area.
Cons: Location.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff and owners were friendly and accommodating. A very relaxing place to stay.
Cons: Not a thing!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location on beach ..excellent, pier, pool, close to Placencia village (short cab ride) walking distance to stores, fruit vendors and a few food vendors.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the family owned atmosphere
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff treated us like family. The property was epic for what we were looking for, which is authentic local character that's not like a commercial resort. We really enjoyed the cultural experience of walking into the town for street food and groceries. The people in the town were very friendly. I would definitely stay there again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ana (concierge) provides unparrallelled service on par with any 4 or 5 star resort we have stayed at in other countries. She is quick and thorough in securing any excursion you could think of, and when the weather did not cooperate, she already had other options available in the event we wanted to do something else. Anticipating our wants and needs was only surpassed by her friendly and inviting demeanor. Single (security) & Mango (beautiful and friendly security dog) make you feel safe and secure on the grounds at all times. Single has incredible knowledge of local cuisine and culture. Doubling as a chef, his meals are layered with flavor and he was willing to cook what you wanted with a local twist that had exquisite taste coupled with a home cooked feel. Also, he climbed a tree for fresh coconuts! Pool area is well kept and the grounds are clean and manicured. The beach is kept clean and tidy on a daily basis. We will be back for the old world charm of the facilities and the unmatched hospitality of Ana and Single! Come for a cultural experience you will never forget. We will be back for sure!
Cons: Bar is no longer stocked, but the staff was very helpful in finding what was needed for an enjoyable and relaxing experience.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It was unique to have the pool there and right on the water.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff! Miguel was great. Friendly and accommodating. Drinks were tasty. Room was comfortable.
Cons: A but far from the village, Pool bar closed super early 6pm. I would've preferred a more local menu. Vs american food, nachos, wings etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
7.5 Good
Pros: The pool, the views of the beach, the courtesy shuttle service the drivers were really nice and so helpful, front desk staff pleasant and assisted with all needs and the drinks
Cons: The housekeeping staff was less than stellar, we are conscious when traveling and are fine with keeping the same sheets and towels during our stay, however the housekeeping staff never cleaned toilets, wiped down sinks and counters and didn’t really make the beds, also kitchen could have used more supplies to facilitate cooking as we made breakfast daily and had snacks and other things as there were several of us staying in a suite
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice place with friendly people. Everything looks great and clean. I can recommend this place!
Cons: The price of the food and drinks are a little expensive
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The pool is awesome. The staff is friendly. We also liked the coffee maker on the room, the fridge and drinking water for free (what seems typical for Belize). The king size bed is very comfortable. The Restaurant located on the sea were soo beautiful
Cons: The cleaning staff was not too accurate, forgot to empty the bin and to clean the room. The resort is a 30 minute ride outside of Placencia village, this is what to keep in mind and we did not know. The offered tours (e.g. snorkeling to the cayes) are expensive compared to the operators in Placencia village. The shower did not really got hot.
7.9 Good
Pros: The overall property was very expansive and the beach access was amazing. Our room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. Service at the restaurant was outstanding and the chef even made up a batch of fresh eggs for us during the breakfast buffet after we arrived a bit late. The pool and bar were awesome and we had a blast meeting new people.
Cons: Our room was tucked under some stairs at the back of the property, which felt a bit like entering a cave. The guest instructions stated to call an extension to place a restaurant order for room delivery, but our room had no phone. I had to walk a good ways to the front desk to order room service. We aren't sure what the reason was, but there were an abundance of mosquitoes around our room that came IN our room with us every time we opened the door. We were eaten alive the whole 3 days we were there, which was very unpleasant. The property looks like it is falling into disrepair in a few places and is in need of maintenance if they are going to charge those prices. Tiles and decorations in and around the pool are missing or broken, the shower and walls in our bathroom desperately needed re-caulking and we only had 5 tv stations when we were supposed to have a good cable selection to choose from. This resort could really be great if they put more effort into it!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff from front desk to house keeping, landscape kept beautifully.
7.1 Good
Pros: The pool and the rooms
Cons: Really bad service, had to ask for towels everyday!! Our room keys never worked (we stayed a week) the kitchen Villas are not equipped with kitchen utensils, we had to ask and the maid said it was an extra cost. The service at the restaurant was very slow, we even had to ask for someone to get us some menus.
4.6 Okay
Pros: It was right next to the beach.
Cons: The poor service, lack of attention to detail. My room wasn’t clean on any of the days we were there, bed made loud noises every movement you make. Pillows were very uncomfortable and flat. Shower, wet everywhere when you used the shower eve the toilet paper. I had wet hair every time because of the shower in the sealing. (I wear braids). Breakfast was not good everything was cold, getting wet while having breakfast due to a leak in the roof. Staff misleading me when it came to the billing at check in and check out. By card getting charged a different total from that of the bill I was given at check out. Overall I’m very unhappy with the stress free stay I was meant to have.
