10.0 Excellent
Pros: Jayne and Angelo are wonderful hosts. Their B&B is a little slice of heaven and the breakfasts are amazing. This is my 4th year with them and I highly recommend this facility.

The general guest area accommodates 4-6 people easily and the shared fridge is a bonus. The hosts Jayne and Angelo are friendly, wonderful people. And Angelo’s breakfasts-amazing and filling.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were lovely, friendly couple and made you feel right at home. Food was excellent and large portions! Room was a really good size and bed was very comfortable. Beautiful yard with nice gardens and spaces to enjoy the outdoors.
Cons: N/A
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were lovely and told you things to see and do and places to eat in the area. We had been in the area but quite a few years ago and things change. Lovely gardens and driftwood village and gnomes. Quite magical, particularly lit up at night! Breakfasts are wonderful and can keep you going until an early supper. Bed was very comfortable.
Cons: There are 2 rooms which share a bathroom at the top of a small landing so you are in close quarters if there is a snorer in the other room. The fan provided - there is no AC which really isn't necessary as at night it cools down - is effective but noisy. We certainly knew that it was a shared bathroom and it wasn't an issue when we were younger but is tougher when older.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly generous hosts, quaint setting, quiet comfortable rooms, nice full breakfast. Gardens were beautiful.
Cons: Everything was wonderful. Be aware you will share a bathroom with guests from other room.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: A stay here is all you could ever ask of a B&B. Comfy bed, yummy food and wonderful hosts. The breakfasts were amazing. We appreciated the variety and everything was so fresh and tasty and beautifully presented. The room was gorgeous and spacious. There were fresh baked cookies in our room every night. The gardens were amazing. So many places to sit and relax with a book. And the gnome village and pond is so cute. We loved staying here and wish our stay had been longer than 2 nights.
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like.

6.8 Good
Pros: The staff were quite friendly and accommodating
Cons: Bathroom way too small. Would prefer a more private balcony as the next door people were looking in our windows...
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great. Dinner too. Loved the friendly staff.
Cons: The bathroom did not have towel racks. The lighting was poor for any amount of reading. The construction across the street was noisy during the day. Hotel could not do anything about it. Government job.

Pros: The staff, they were fantastic. Jim was helpful with suggestions on different activities to do.
Cons: Pool was rather small
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The service was outstanding, the rooms very nice, but not outstanding for the price point and needed some minor maintenance.
Cons: Thought the descriptions were somewhat misleading compared to the product.
4.3 Okay
Pros: The beds are comfy and they’re clean.
Cons: The property looks like a giant cactus club.!They lie about their dinner menu timing and close the kitchen whenever they see fit. Their restaurant hostess was extremely rude about this and didn’t even suggest an alternative in the area. We are out of the gas station next door for our anniversary. Cheers guys!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, and Diner was good, fresh and tasty
Cons: Parking can be a bit of an issue,
6.8 Good

Cons: Feel it would be nitpicking to come up with any.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice heritage and well appointed rooms. Very quiet and peaceful. Good location near the beach and plenty of parking. Nice breakfast if a bit basic. Good views over the golf course and sea from the front of the property.
Cons: Forest view room looked over the parking lot and maintenance building. Room was a little dark
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were welcoming and friendly. The suite was stayed in (The John Wayne suite) was clean, very comfortable and had nice touches like a hand-written greeting, a mini fridge with cold water, and lots of fluffy towels. There is plenty of parking. Excellent breakfast served from 8 to 10am.
Cons: No complaints, everything was positive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff. Clean and comfortable! Breakfast was delicious!
5.8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good.
Cons: This hotel is not as good as it thinks it is - the staff upon arrival was unfriendly, there seemed to be an attempt to give us 2 forest view rooms despite us having booked and paid for an ocean view room, the actual forest view room (the notorious room 214) had no windows and was very dark, the general level of maintenance in the rooms was poor (ceiling fan not working, bath plug not attached to chain, curtains not hooked, wheels on furniture fell out when moved, windows cannot open because rope broken, old/weak batteries in remote control etc.)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Grand old property beautifully maintained
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a great place to come and stay ! Great old classic style. The reception was warm and welcoming and helpful with great recommendations for diner. The room was large and the bed was crisp , the WiFi worked very well and the room was air conditioned . The Continental breakfast has amazing, the fresh made on-site muffins were to die for!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and accommodating. We had a minor issue with a noisy A\C unit, and once we informed the staff, they went above and beyond. The continental breakfast was excellent and even included some gluten-free options. My wife and I are looking forward to our next stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely and the breakfast delicious.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place matches very well with the name "Crown Mansion". It has a rich history and connection with key people who were instrumental in making Qualicum Beach a desired place to stay or vacation. In its early years, this was a place that noted celebrities had visited and the current hotel and villas would still be considered as inviting as in the past. The hotel continues to be run with an expected high level of excellence and care, from the breakfast to room maintenance, to ensure clients feel welcomed and at home. The location, across from the golf course and adjoining to a heritage forest, was excellent.
Cons: We were a little disappointed to discover that the Butlers restaurant, which we had enjoyed on a previous visit to the area, had been closed. However we soon learned that the owners were in-process of re-opening the restaurant, within the next two weeks. From discussions and our observations of this process, it was evident that the restaurant was also to be operated at the same high expectation of excellence, while also ensuring a welcoming spirit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exellent located .peacefully and walking pat on the forest beautiful flowers grounds. Special people stay there before. We had Rita Hayward room.very nice memories.
Cons: None

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Pictures were lovely and unit was clean. A few plastic forks and knives would have been nice to have while eating take in food. Outside was lovely with the flower baskets.
Cons: Toilet seat was needing to be replaced or fixed. First time sitting it moved and kept moving the whole time and we are are big woman. I weigh 120 and my daughter 135. When I booked I was told it was the last unit but clearly it was not as there were several units that were empty so felt like I should not look farther to loose out. Price was expensive for one night and being at the beginning of the strip, but other wise no complaints.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were so friendly and accomadating It was super clean.....great value. Inside the room was the perfevt setup.....beds were on opposite sides of the room Almost a separate room really Will stay again
Cons: Nothing....it was perfect

5.0 Okay
Cons: Quality of usual motel. Price of a good resort.
6.8 Good
Pros: The location is nice if u have a car
Cons: Very simple , u can add a little bet more to rent in a nearby resorts where there is a pool or some entertainment area plus a breakfast included
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The family feel and attention to detail. Loved the garden and trees.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Bonus kitchenette upgrade when we needed a second bed. Though on a busy highway the room was quiet and we had a fabulous sleep. Owners very pleasant !
Cons: Had difficult turning on the TV, turns out one of the snarl of plugs wasn't in. Bedroom had NO outlets, should put in one of the lamps from the main room which has an inbuilt plug (for a CPAP machine). Had to call the office to find out that the power to the lamps was controlled by a switch by the door... But still would still highly recommend it!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room is really big, with 2 comfortable beds. Location is great, easy access by car and bus. Even though the motel is right on the road, the windows really block the noise from outside and you can’t hear anything! Wifi works well and also there’s a fridge and a microwave in case you need it! Great breakfast place right across the road.
Cons: The fan in the bathroom could be a little better, it does feel quite humid in the room after shower... but nothing that open windows can’t fix.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Right on the water, fantastic views!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The manicured yard is a great compliment to the unbeatable view! The owners put a lot of thought into making the outdoors comfortable: tables and chairs, covered patios, loungers snd barbecue, private exit to the beach. The room has everything you need: fully stocked kitchen, very clean!
Cons: I booked a 2 bedroom, and appreciated beds in separate rooms, but our suite was not a true 2-bed: one bed is located in the open space in the living- kitchen area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the view of the beach from the big bed and the sofa. Loved the private deck, and the patio furniture. Also loved the quietness and peace. This is our new go-to place for decompression in Qualicum Beach.
Cons: The sofa was sagging.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I loved the spectacular view from our balcony and the closeness to the beach. It had a cute little garden area. It had a little area where you could go into the beach almost felt like your own private beach. It was close via car to the village about a 5 min. drive. It was clean and cute!
Cons: I didn't like that there were people below us out in the balcony smoking one evening and we couldn't eat out on our balcony because the smoke came up into our room we couldn't even open our balcony door. I also did like that when we were greeted we weren't given much information regarding places to eat or restaurants nearby. It has a few restaurants close by but not a lot of choice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location and beautiful gardens.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location for the wedding we attended Backyard grounds/gardens and furniture are fabulous, backing onto the water Front appearance is deceiving on arrival....don't let that deter Highly recommend....not cheap
Cons: No milk product for morning coffee
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was near a public beach and good restaurants. The suite was exceptionally clean and comfortable. A lot of little details were included. Comfy club chairs with stools. Plush towels and plenty of them. On the balcony there was a table with umbrella and chairs for morning coffee. Parking right out front of unit. Beautiful grounds with rose gardens and potted plants and ambient night lighting overlooking Strait of Georgia.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The unit we stayed in was very clean, very comfortable. The hosts were great! Location could not be better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This incredible little place is a hidden gem on the Qualicum Beach oceanside road! We loved our stay - the Malaspina Suite 106 was spacious and comfy with all the amenities we could have asked for, coffee and tea included. Beds were so pretty and comfy. Cool air through the screens thru the night and hot sun in the morning. The outdoor common areas are abundant, well kept, and so peaceful for an evening BBQ and morning coffee. The views and walkout ocean access were such a special treat. Wish we could have stayed longer, but hope to return soon. You are sure to love this incredible retreat!
Cons: Everything was just perfect. ❤️
7.0 Good
Pros: Love the mountains and sea.
Cons: The cot was broken carpet filthy

5.5 Okay
Pros: Bed was comfy
Cons: Breakfast items Washing dishes in bathroom sink Messy outdoors
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It was very clean and well equipped
Cons: Some fruit and yogurt would have been welcome additions to breakfast that consisted of toast and Quaker Oats.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Location was great - a walk to the beach
Cons: The room needs a makeover, too much clutter
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to everything and just as described. The host, Karen is very personable and added extra value to the stay
7.0 Good
Pros: We felt very welcome by our gracious host, hotel employee and our room was well equipped.
Cons: My only criticism was the fact that sound carried from an upstairs suite, particularly the squeaky floors.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and everything was replenished daily e.g. breakfast items, face cloths, towels. Beds were comfortable with good light for reading. Our host Karen was very nice and knowledgeable about the area, giving us suggestions on things to do and the history of some of the places nearby like Judges Row Beach and the Heritage Forest.
Cons: There was an odour upon entering that was somewhat musty. This happened whenever we would enter the property not just initially when it had been closed up. Opening windows and running fan helped to eliminate this. The couch was dated and soft and not very comfortable. Could use an update. The deck to the upstairs unit was really only a landing and not much of an ocean view but there were other outdoor seating areas around the property that were available.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Privacy was great. Bed exceptionally comfortable. Very pleasurable to enjoy a place to stay, that had all the convenience you have at home.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was good for what we required, owner was very nice
Cons: Breakfast was no what we expected for a B&B, thought it would be an actual breakfast. Too many "chochkeys" stuff, in the room, made it feel smaller than it was. Needs to clean up the property to make it more inviting.

Pros: Great location! Very friendly and awesome experience to eat breakfast outside!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is great! Easy to find. I had an issue with the little fridge (it froze everything) and the staff had it replaced immediately.
Cons: The air conditioner was a little smelly. Basic continental breakfast. I brought my own cereal (gluten free) and milk alternative which I kept in the fridge.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Enjoyed the motel aspect of it. Location is prime for Parksville, even though work was in Qualicum.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We didn't expect to have a breakfast at the motel, but we did take a muffin and some juice from the outdoor setup area. Very nice!
Cons: Nothing really stood out as far as what we didn't like. We were very pleased with everything really!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Large room Large Bex Clean Very nice staff Nice continental breakfast in the garden Washing Machine
Cons: Nothing !
7.5 Good
Pros: We had a good sleep
Cons: Definitely a budget motel. Nothing fancy
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were extremely nice, took time to answer questions, gave good personalized service. Motel itself is dated, but that is easily overlooked by the cleanliness of the room - my #1 criteria when staying in a room. Beds were comfortable. Motel is on a busy street, but traffic is almost non-existent at night so it was very quiet during the evening. If you're travelling with kids there is a cute mini-golf and activity center kitty-corner to the motel. A few blocks up there are convenience stores and the beach is about 4km drive down the road. Expensive but very yummy restaurant across the street. The motel offers an outdoor breakfast which is nice as we didn't see (but also didn't look for) a morning breakfast restaurant. Would stay again if in the area.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Clean and comfortable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I really liked the free upgrade! Thank you!
Cons: I have no complaints

6.8 Good
Pros: Our room was lovely, nice location right on the beach.
Cons: The hotel advertised an outdoor pool which was the primary reason we booked. The pool in inside with a slatted open roof, this does not make it an outside pool. There was no where to relax and sunbathe. They should call it an inside pool. We felt ripped off.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location and view from our balcony were beautiful. Close to everything we wanted to do and the pool was great.
Cons: Didn't like the expresso machine in the room as we don't like expresso. We just wanted a basic cup of coffee and tea in the morning. Would have prefered one of those little coffee makers. And the hot tub jets were not very powerful. More like a tap running than a jet tub. But it was great other than that.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: the location was excellent and the view was excellent as well right on the beach with beach access. the breakfast choice and quality was average but adequate as was the dinner menu
Cons: the food quality and choice could have been better
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our eggs benny tasted superb. The service was fast and efficient, staff were friendly without being overbearing.
Cons: The only down side was when two staff were getting off the elevator, saw that my husband used a walker but didn't bother to hold the door open. We entered the elevator as the door was closing.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff and a nice location. Building was under going renovations during my stay but was still clean amd tidy. I had to at 530 am and was so grateful for the coffee!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Stellar view, comfortable bed, great rate, good food, friendly staff.
Cons: Recently upgraded the facilities but the staff need training. Very friendly and helpful though.
7.0 Good
Pros: Super quiet very clean.
Cons: When I booked I got one price. When I got the bill it was considerably more and I would like to hear from bookings to repair this.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very new and bright and clean. Lovely ocean view. The outdoor patio and grounds were very nice. The gardener talked with us and was very knowledgeable and really cared about the gardens esp the beautiful roses in the front garden...quite lovely! Easy to walk down to the beach..on stairs ...the beach stretches for miles which is quite stunning to see. Beautifully decorated room ..all new furniture and beds. Friendly staff overall. Nice pool and hot tub in glass enclosure. Restaurant and patio serves very good food at reasonable prices looking over the ocean. We have already booked another stay in August..but be sure to request a ocean front room or at least refuse to take the small selection of rooms that over look a large ugly expanse of roof..with noisey air vents and tarmac and air conditioners !!
Cons: Front desk welcome initially ackward. The Receptionist was more occupied with talking to a colleague and working on her computer than welcoming us ...she didnt even look up and say anything for a uncomfortable few minutes. Not being acknowledged is very poor. Eventually the colleague jumped up to serve us and welcome us. He was very pleasant and professional. I think he was not expecting to be dealing with guests but he sensed the uncomfortable position for us. Stop with the computer and tend to your customers!! Also very poor that the pool is not open past 7 pm..this is a resort! Some rooms overlook a roof with noisey air conditions....why not make a roof top garden and at the very least don't advertise these rooms as garden view!! We had to pay an upgrade to get out of this room that we were first booked into by making the reservation with booking.com
9.5 Excellent
Cons: Internet was not working in our room on the 20th Ok on 21st.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location to water
Cons: View of roof top and parking lot. Nothing close by
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were spacious and clean. Appeared recently renovated.
Cons: Was disappointed with the location of our room. Third floor overlooking a very messy roof and facing an apartment under construction. No view as such. Was woken 11.30pm by somebody doing work on the roof - Contacted reception @ 12.30am who did not seem to know what was going on.
7.5 Good
Cons: Nespresso coffee

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The balcony view was stunning. The room comfortable and spacious, well appointed suite. The low tide and tide pools were amazing. Went to bed and full ocean. Woke up it was gone!

Cons: The room price was very high

Pros: View
Cons: Limited parking.
4.3 Okay
Pros: The location of the property is excellent right next to the beach. The beds were comfortable.
Cons: The sliding deck doors were nearly inoperable, the interior closet door could not be opened or closed. All door hinges creaked and needed repair. The kitchen was small and the utensils were marginal at best, the the appliances were of poor quality. Extremely disappointed and would never stay here again .
9.5 Excellent

Pros: Very dated motel, but great staff, clean, large room. Also pet friendly which we required as we travel with our dog.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness - very, very good!! Lovely, new renovations. Good value for money. Owners pleasant, friendly and very helpful. Definitely would stay here again!!
Cons: Longer bed frame beneath. When I sat on end, head of bed would lift. However, I was entertained by this :-)

Cons: they couldn't of did anything better then they already did love my stay will be booking again at this location

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast chioce
Cons: Great breakfast choice clean towels daily. Peace and quiet. Just what we needed. Good sized room and all the kitchen facilities we needed. Would use this place again.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was fine, yogurt, fruit, cereal, half muffin coffee, the area for the breakfast could have been a bit bigger. I liked that the rooms were big and clean. The person behind the desk was very friendly and accommodating.
Cons: The drapes needed to be shorter, the air conditioner ,when on would billow the drapes up and not flow into the room as well. The ceiling over the tub/shower area needed washing down.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Nothing. Greatly disappointed. Old place. Should be torn down and new facilities put up. Toilet so low to the floor had trouble getting off of it. Looked like 2 old buildings put together. Only good thing beds were ok. Left a day early as we couldn’t stay there any longer and definetly won’t be back or refer the place.
Cons: Everything. I explained above.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable affordable clean accommodation. Staff are awesome. Included continental breakfast was great. Better choices than we usually see at this price range. Pets are welcome.

Pros: Very nice people and kept the grounds really clean also.
Cons: The mattress were vey soft. Need new ones. Do a few at a time. Very

4.5 Okay
Pros: It was clean, easy to get to, and close to the beach.
Cons: Funny smell in room, sink wasn’t in the bathroom so you disturb everyone else when washing up, lamps were covered in cellophane with the tags still on, light switches in very odd locations, noise from upstairs, fridge stunk and was unusable, blankets had holes in them, very outdated decor and furnishings. We opted to leave first thing in the morning and shower at home.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Accessibility, local services.
Cons: Dirty air conditioner filters. All should be cleaned monthly. Clients shouldn’t sneeze when they enter the rooms. A roll of paper towels would be a good addition to the kitchenette.we

Cons: Smelly room. Bed cover sheet

7.0 Good
Pros: We especially appreciated the kitchenette equipped with dishes, pots and pans and utensils, a fridge and microwave, dishtowel, dish clothes, and washing up liquid. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: We were asked to change from a room on the ground floor with two beds to one on the first floor with a double bed but the double bed was not as large as we were led to expect and the ground floor is easier for bulky luggage.

Pros: Spacious apartments with great amenities. Swimming pool And hot tubs were sparkling clean. Path to the beach Free beach toys and balls to borrow
4.3 Okay
Pros: It was all mostly ok
Cons: Once you book you cannot change accommodation to another facility because the make you pay the entire time ahead and cannot change if you do not like it or wish to move at different location
7.5 Good
Cons: Ocean Trails going smoke free.....one designated smoking area only. Would help to have several areas throughout the property as the units are spread out. Did not please the smoker in our party. I beleive smoking outside is okay....not in the units would surely be respected. On this issue, I would not recommend to anyone with a smoker in their party.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Have been coming to Ocean Trails for a number of years. Great memories and fun times with family. Will continue to come back
Cons: My unit was close to the road. Lots of traffic coming in and out. Will get a different unit next time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s very convenient and comfortable. The environment is peaceful and beautiful.

Pros: The units are very well equipped. Comfy bed too.
Cons: It would be fantastic to have a larger, deep end pool for adults who like to swim.

5.0 Okay
Pros: The location on the water
Cons: It was hot and there was no AC. We wanted the patio door open but a number of times had smoke coming in even though it's supposed to be a non-smoking property. They even had someone smoking right the main office when we were leaving.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Resort like relaxing stay
Cons: Not enough water activities for family with younger children.
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: No air conditioning in the summer and the noise from neighbouring guests and a large reunion party made for a sleepless night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The resort is right on the water and there is a ramp leading into the bay. The bay gets very shallow at low tide which was important since we arrived and left by kayak. We needed to be careful about our timing. The room was great and we had a nice dinner in the restaurant. The hotel staff kindly arranged for us to store our large, double kayak in a garage that could be locked. That helped us sleep well. We didn't have much time at the resort since we arrived late had to leave early so we were sad we couldn't explore the amenities offered by the resort. We gather that kayaks are available free to guests and there are other fun things to do. The people we talked to at the resort say they come every year and love it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was beautiful. We loved the outdoor pools.
Cons: We waited an hour for breakfast and then was told the restaurant was out of eggs and someone was “running out to get some “. We decided not to wait any longer and found another restaurant in Parksville.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Not much.
Cons: Old, needed repairs, room temperature unable to control, one small double uncomfortable bed, old pull out couch with unsufficient linen, poor lighting. Firetrap, no sprinklers, patio wall solid so no escape. Timeshare, pool use not allowed unless member.
7.0 Good
Pros: Room size was great.
Cons: Location was a bit out of the way. The road into Parksville was closed making it a longer trip to get anywhere.
6.8 Good
Pros: The location is fantastic. Incredibly scenic views over the bay and beautiful grounds. Their is a huge tidal flat to explore at low tide.
Cons: The units here are definitely old and worn. It is also definitely not a place for a couple to have a relaxing quiet retreat. It is very family oriented with young children everywhere. The rooms are almost all large one or two bedroom units with full kitchens. The hotel like room that we rented was a lock off from a larger suite, with a small balcony with awful worn outdoor carpet. The screen door was broken and fell completely out of the track eventually. The small bbq area near the boat launch, very close to our room was taken over twice by a very large loud group. Two of them had apparently never seen a traffic circle before since they thought the one at the end of the narrow road that allows people to turn around was a place for them to park. They were not rowdy but the noise and children using the parking area as a playground made our balcony unusable for the evening twice over a 5 day stay. Particularly since everyone leaving the party felt that directly under our balcony was the place to turn and scream their goodbyes. Do not allow them to give you a room in the 600 block if you are staying over a weekend and want to be able to relax in your room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everything was awesome, staff was great very friendly and helpful, room was large and very clean, had very nice bbq setup to use, hot tubs, jacuzzi tub was awesome, had fireplace in the room
Cons: cant think of anything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view from great decks. Gorgeous beach. Comfortable bed with good coffee maker.
Cons: We didn’t have a view from our room and it was a bit dark. The hot tub overlooking the ocean was out of service.
7.0 Good
Pros: Great pools great for kids
Cons: A little too far from the beach. Also restaurant drinks were limited. 2 drinks I asked for they didn't have.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Was amazing. The outdoor pool was great & views r amazing
7.7 Good
Pros: Comfort, hiking trails, gourmet food close by
Cons: For some reason. The booking.com reservation didn't come through- it was frustrating for us in that I had to email them the booking confirmation, and this was supposed to be easy... But it did work out in the end. :)

Pros: Excellent location. Right on the beach with a great view from the units to Georgia Straight. Friendly staff.
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice bed, great location. Location for beach fire was lovely.
Cons: The room is much smaller than I expected.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beach front location with stunning views. Spectacular sunrises, seals, sea lions, bald eagles and other birds.
Cons: Bathroom was a bit cramped. Shampoo and hair dryer would have been nice.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice and cozy cottage!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: My family liked the intimate atmosphere of a small hotel and the beautiful grounds. We ate outside every day in the sunshine, it was so peaceful and sunny. The accommodations were just the right size for my family and we had what we needed in the kitchen. The hotel owner was very informative and helpful about things to do in the area. This is a place you can come to if you enjoy meeting other guests and relaxing.
Cons: The beds were very firm, which didn't suit my preference.
4.5 Okay
Cons: Filthy sink and dirty drinking glasses Smoke alarm not working No privacy at all
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It was a great little 2 bedroom cottage with an awesome ocean view from the living room window. The ocean was literally steps away. We could see sea lions swimming past in the morning.
Cons: Small 2 burner stove and fridge, but hey I'm on holidays I shouldn't have to cook anyway!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved the little deck overlooking the ocean. We liked the location as it was central to everything we wanted to do.
7.5 Good
Pros: It was peaceful and quiet.
Cons: It was a bit cold - although it is probably fine in the summer. Bedrooms were a bit on the small side.

4.3 Okay
Pros: Access to the beach area.
Cons: Had booked a room with 2 beds. Upon arrival asked if we could switch to a room on main floor, as daughter has difficulty with stairs. The room had only one queen-bed, however. I asked if we could have the original room anyway, but was then told that it also had only one bed, "because someone made a mistake." If I wanted a room with 2 beds, I would have to pay another $50. I said that I would then keep the downstairs room. This room was very small, with a small bathroom (shower only). It was noisy. The walls were so thin that we could hear the conversation from our neighbours connected behind us, when they were talking in the bathroom, which they did a lot while having baths. I will never stay there again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. This is my third time here. I know my stays will be consistantly just what I want.
Cons: A mini fridge might be a nice addition.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable beds
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and free round of mini golf is always a hit.
Cons: The bathtub plug was wrong size and bathtub didn't drain properly. Part of curtain was broken and didn't close properly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy to find, lots of parking, closer than I expected to the beach.
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean, all amenities we needed for a one night stay. Free minigolf included.
Cons: Not much in the way of restaurants around, but there’s a barbecue available if you want to do your own
1.0 Poor
Pros: Dirty
4.5 Okay
Pros: Free round of mini putt was fun.
Cons: Got a scald burn from the shower when it suddenly turned hot. Very itchy from being bitten all night, not sure from what.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy bed and good breakfast. Central location and the price.
Cons: Not really, lets face it anyone can be picky but for the price it was more than exspected.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Conveniently situated
Cons: Walls in room thin, noises from adjacent suites, and above can be loud.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great little Motel, in great location. Clean and close to the beach. Free mini golf.
Cons: Close to the beach and free mini golf.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location near the beach. Plenty of restaurants that are a walkable distance. If you have children (or not), the mini golf next door is a must do. Excellent value.
Cons: Perhaps a bit too close to Highway 19A, but it’s a motel. That’s the very nature of the business to be visible on the highway. Minor details the motel could look at. There are reading lamps above our beds but one had no switch. Toilet needs adjustment as one has to hold the lever down to flush properly. The shower head is not water efficient. While the water pressure is awesome, they could save water and money by upgrading the shower heads. These are minor things and not deal breakers.

6.3 Good
Pros: Friendly staff and good location. Clean rooms and breakfast ok.
Cons: In need of an update - stayed in this hotel 20 years ago and it has not been maintained. Room looked onto carpark with old furniture and rubbish everywhere. Carpets very worn and dirty in places.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We had a great sleep as the beds were very comfy, there were extra pillows and blankets in the room if needed
Cons: The fitness area was small, the breakfast was ok but not great
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location! Right next to the beach and near good couple of restaurants and grocery stores. Breakfast was a bit basic but good enough. Beds were super comfortable, room was clean and spacious.
Cons: The view could have been better! Our room was overlooking the side/backyard of the hotel and there was a huge pile of old furniture all over the place, looked like it was gonna go to the trash or something. Didn’t look very presentable...
7.5 Good
Pros: Location, continental breakfast and most of all the cleanliness.
Cons: NA
8.3 Excellent
Pros: great continental breakfast close to beaches and entertainment and downtown swimming pool great for kids (no deep end) fridge and microwave and appears to have been recently remodeled
Cons: free dinner too (ha ha)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great options for breakfast. Excellent location as it overflowed outdoors.
Cons: Could have had an hot egg station.
7.0 Good
Pros: We loved the bed; very comfy! The bathroom was spacious, modern and clean. The pool and hot tub were great.
Cons: I wish the Travelodge would provide recycling and/or compost options in the breakfast room. In addition, they gave the option for customers to use plastic or paper cutlery and plates, which I don't believe is necessary. Travelodge: Go Green!
5.8 Okay
Pros: The staff was helpful. The breakfast was OK ,the bed was clean, the bathroom was kept clean.
Cons: It looks like they are trying to refresh this hotel, but I feel it may be too little to late, it may be time to replace this old and tired hotel. The exterior siding is very faded and cracking, the cedar roof is well past due to be replaced, the carpeting in the halls and room is worn and very stained. The furniture is stained and worn. The bathroom looks to have been remodeled but the toilet would not flush properly { 3-6 tries to clear], the ceiling fan did not work. I have a hard time to recommend staying here.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: continental breakfast was average in choice and variety. staff kept the quantity of food available well. the size of the breakfast room was adequate .
Cons: the toilet was very poor. you had to flush at least twice for liquids and 3 or 4 times for solids and got plugged once and the toilet was a low small one. the carpet was stained and the chair was stained
7.5 Good
Pros: Well stocked, coffee was good, clean area.
Cons: There were a few things in the room that needed to be fixed. The bathroom fan was very loud and the lighting in the bathroom was poor. The air conditioning worked well and was quiet. Light above the bed was falling apart and needs to be fixed. The TV had to be adjusted to HDMI every time we turned it on.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Limited availability of a pet-friendly options during busy long weekend forced us to stay here. Old building with old, small rooms that could use a reno. Location is convenient to Parksville parks and town shops.
Cons: Budget hotel with premium price $293 for a tiny room with 2 doubles). Breakfast was basic, boiled eggs, no bacon or sausage, cereal, muffins, yogurt, whole fruit. Fortunately, waffle maker for the kids.
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: The staff were not overly friendly, the room was not all that clean, there were false eyelashes all over the bed. Exposed box springs that looked terrible, the pool was disgusting - the water was milky and full of chunks of long hair. Will not go back.

4.3 Okay
Pros: Good location, desk staff very helpful.
Cons: The check in experience was very good. The lady was very friendly and helpful. Room was not as represented. It was supposed to have sleeping accommodations for 3 - 4. There was a double bed right beside the wall and a fold down futon that was old and lumpy. We had to ask for bedding for the futon and then you couldn’t get comfortable on it. They brought a piece of foam but it didn’t really help. We were charged premium price for this room. When the futon was down, you had to squeeze past it to get to the bathroom. I have stayed in better accommodations in third world countries. The desk was closed after 11 pm and we were out for the whole day. Thankfully we were back by 10, because our room was not cleaned that day, there were no towels and we were able to get some. Breakfast was minimal, muffins, toast, cereal, yogurt and a couple of fruits. Should be advertised as continental breakfast. As noted the staff was very helpful and apologetic but that didn’t make the room any better.
7.0 Good
Pros: It is centrally located in Parksville main road. We have found our room clean and comfortable even though the facility is very outdated. The A/C is quiet, bathroom is clean. We also felt the breakfast is sufficient even though it is the major complaint from the reviews. Overall it was a pleasant stay for us.
Cons: The hotel desperately needs a facelift.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Ground floor room had a small patio adjacent to main road. No facilities in the immediate surrounds. Shops and liquor store a drive away as are fast food outlets. Could not find a decent restaurant but only had one night so didn't try too hard.
Cons: Basic quality but price reflects this. We stopped en route to Ucluelet so a short visit only.
6.8 Good
Pros: Location in downtown Parksville Size of room ok. Staff was friendly, both at checkout and checking in.
Cons: Kitchenette in room very run down Toilet flush did not stop. Water constantly running. Not very environmentally friendly! Breakfast on the low end. Breakfast room used as storage, very un-inviting
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly and helpful staff
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Ease of dealing with staff. Felt very welcoming
Cons: More coffee in room would be nice
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location and complimentary breakfast.
Cons: The bed was uncomfortable and it was a small room.
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff were helpful and location was very near beach.
Cons: Breakfast was good but choices were limited. Breakfast room was very small.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was clean. Liked the location and unique layout of the room. Lady at the front desk was very nice. Felt safe and comfortable there.
Cons: Hallways smelled a bit like cigarettes, but I'm sure that is from a long time ago.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location, we were able to easily walk to the boardwalk, and enjoy the beach. I was especially grateful for the small kitchenette. This made food options a lot easier for us while we were on vacation, as we were able to do some of our own meals, or keep and reheat leftovers. We could hear our neighbouring visitors a little bit, but generally everyone was quiet and respectful. If we'd had a little more time, we probably would have also visited the mini golf and fun park across the street.
Cons: The mattress on the bed wasn't the best. I kept waking up with a sore back. It would also be nice if a smoking area was placed somewhere away from the hotel entrances.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location price room cleanliness
Cons: Breakfast room needed some cleaning
5.5 Okay
Pros: Staff were fairly nice. And made up our sofa bed quickly upon request.
Cons: No screens on windows to allow fresh air in for sleeping. I had booked this early for myself and two kids and was hoping for comfy beds but the sofa bed was unmade (staff made it up immediately upon request) and mostly wire and springs instead of a comfy mattress it was old and worn right out . My daughter did not sleep well at all. Old dusky carpet in hallways. Some type of nasty stains in elevator that resembled vomit. Staff was friendly but made me pay the full 189 even though they were advertising 129. I was past the cancellation period and had to pay for what I was locked into. Good location (but almost everything is in Parksville as it's all on a strip across from the beach). I paid the exact same price for the double tree by Hilton in Kamloops and I would rate the doubletree an 8 vs a 3 at most. I hate complaining but you can get alot better for your money elsewhere.
