Noicy Air conditioning. Room was dirty.
Good value for the money
Bar tenders get 5 stars! Shame they have to work in a horrible establishment. Bring your own soap and the TV flickered on every channel. Only stayed here because everything else in town sold out. I wish I would have drove home!!!
Decor, gaming options, stale air, outdated everything, and overall depressing mood and atmosphere
Horrible customer service
We arrived with confirmed reservations and they did not honor the rate we were given. (They overbooked and decided they didn't want to deal with anybody who had a good rate.) I have stayed at the Sands dozens of times in the past, but I think there is no new ownership and new management. I will never stay there again until there's a change in ownership. It has been a subpar hotel for many years, but the discount rates made it OK. It's no longer OK. Now it's just a subpar hotel with lurching elevators, second great restaurants, and horrible customer service.
No towels, no hot water, not clean, old, staff was rude and condescending.
One Night Stay
The old school feel of the casino felt like you just took a trip back to the 90s. The water pressure in the shower was extraordinary.
Stayed in a room next to the elevator and every time the elevator moved, it sounded like someone was pounding on the ceiling with a hammer
Just old nasty and smokey, don't know how they got 3 stars
Restaurant downstairs old fashioned and good
Everything thing else
Beware the requirement of security deposit
Require $75 security deposit, but the staff refused to give me a written statement to say that I have been cleared with security deposit when I was checking out. What happens if I did not break or steal anything inside the room when I check out but was charged such expenses later on my credit card as security deposit? I then have no proof to defend myself again such charge. The check out staff, Mr. Vince P did not really know the meaning of "customer service".
I did not like the fact that i was charged a 13 dollar charge for the resort fee even I was already charge that when I booked the room and also that I had to put a 75 dollar deposit down. Plus when i got my receipt it was confusing and for some reason they're charging me the 13 dollar fee again and i'm only getting 49 dollars back. We did no damage to the room and stay for one night. Will definitely not be staying there away.
Worst sleep ever
Noise pipes, vents
Trains, tractor trailers & hot rods OH MY
Room was sizable, nice view of city & surrounding snow capped mountains. On property food selection is handy with Starbucks onsite. Easy access & free parking. Front desk supervisor helpful.
If you are looking for a quiet accommodation this is NOT it! Property is wedged between freeway and railroad tracks. Yes, trains run 24x7! Walls are paper thin, with ongoing foot traffic in hallways all night. However, the lack of internet service is inexcusable. Hotel management blocks unpaid access and for the upgrade you may enjoy literally hours of offshore technical support. I left at 11pm on my second night to find more appropriate ambiance and the business service that should be a top priority for any modern facility. Smoking permitted on first/lobby floor leaves a bad impression for the health conscious.
Budget-friendly retro hotel
The Sands is a clean, friendly hotel that's easy on your budget! It's also within walking distance to other casinos if you want to venture out.
Our room was close to the elevator, which was kind of a distraction due to the noisiness. Be sure to ask for a room furthest from the elevators.
