Beautiful old style with character and well preserved
Not what I expected
The cleanliness was not top priority they only made beds they did not clear cups for days or replace toilet paper. The Defoe at night reminds me of the shining as well. The breakfast set up was ok but when ordering room service as the walk is so far the staff is rude
Room was very nice for price. Room was very clean and housekeeping staff friendly.
Front desk was not helpful and very abrupt.
An old hotel that has echoes of "The Grand Budapest Hotel", a faded palace where Verdi once stayed. Steps from Termini station and the A Metro at Republicà, it is an excellent jumping off point for your Roman stay. The staff is extremely friendly.
The included breakfast is forgettable, though the garden in which it is served is not. Skip it for a cappuccino and corneto at one of Rome's countless Caffè.
Great location but needs updating
The hotel is a great old building but is in dire need of updates.
The ventilation is bad. The AC was barely functional.
The location was excellent. The rooms were clean and spacious. The people at the reception desk were always helpful. The (included) breakfast was completely amazing. We especially loved going to the garden room restaurant to have a beer in the late afternoon to cool off and rest a bit (they also brought a bowl of peanuts, a bowl of potato chips, and once, a bowl of mixed snacks to go with).
One night we were too tired to find a local restaurant so we ate in their restaurant. The food was good, but pricier and not as marvelous as the local restaurants off site. But that's in comparison to the fabulous food all over Italy, so its a really high bar.
Very spacious rooms and a lovely garden you can see while you have a complete breakfast. Good location with many options of public transportation and restaurants.
The hotel is beautiful, with a very impressive interior, its very clean with a gorgeous enclosed garden. Highly recommended.
Great Location - only 15min walk from Trevi Fountain / Colosseum. Rooms are quaint and spacious. The garden area is very relaxing.
Early check - in was not facilitated
Very clean, polite staff, good breakfast buffet. Very close to the metro stop, taxi piazza, and train station.
Breakfasts, although the same everyday, were good. Good strong coffee. Very relaxing courtyard. Rooms with courtyard view were a liitle noisy due to 2 weddings, during our stay.
Didn't have dinner during our 5 night stay. A little pricey.
Very convenient location.
Very rude staff, room had multiple problems, broken toilet seat, TV not working, window not closing etc, They repaired all but would not stay there again.
the airconditioning didn't work and we were not informed about this when we arrived at the hotel. As it was july and very hot the entire stay at the hotel was very uncomfortable. Wasn't worth the money.
The hotel was very clean and comfortable, and the staff friendly enough.
Considering the value of the rooms, I thought the price of drinks in the hotel bar were a little expensive. Also, we stayed in a "business double room", and our friends stayed in a "standard double room". Their's was the larger of the rooms.
the size of the room
he breakfastwas not the typcial italian style .Not enough selections and no toaster for bread. rate the breakfast poor.
I loved the room and grandness of the hotel itself also very centrally located within walking distance to most of the attractions. Friendly staff as well.
