Breakfast/dinner: the food is amazing and fresh. I've been around and I've seen lots of tricks to make the remaining food re-usable in another form or sort, but not at Kempinski (or they're very good at it). The food was always fresh, tastes very very good, the staff at the breakfast/dinner area was always professional and very helpful. The hygiene level was very good too. Plates we very clean without stains (my wife is a hygiene-freak). The only thing that could be better, is the variety of food. I understand this was not the highest season but the options felt kind of little compared to other hotels that are within 1 hour away. Whether breakfast or dinner, need more variety. Don't get me wrong though, you'll never leave the place feeling unhappy or not full, but you get what I mean. The Creme Brulee is exceptionally very very very very nice. I could eat a dozen of these and not care about the sugar rush. My new favorite addiction :)
I understand this goes back to different cultures, but I wanted to use the spa area with my wife. We asked if there are separate or mixed areas and we were instructed that the men's area is for both men & mixed. My wife came with me only to find out that all the men are walking around freely (100% naked). While this is a normal non-Egyptian culture, we are still in Egypt and I don't think this is suitable for any woman to be around naked men. We couldn't even use the Jaccuzi because of the mean walking around in/out of steam/sauna rooms. If the hotel will allow this in steam/sauna rooms then the Jaccuzi should be moved away.
The staff was fantastic! In every way they did their utmost to make you feel welcome and make you want to come back. It really is one of those places you want to be quarantined.
WiFi was in and out, but mostly because of storms on whole of soma bay. It wasn’t only kempinski.
Amazing design of lagoons, pools and beach, great service with very helpful staff, rooms were super clean with great smell, food wasnt the best but still had really good quality and variety
Soma bay Location is quite far from hurghada and airport , trips like safari and snorkeling booked through the hotel were quite expensive , the room was on ground floor so we didnt really have a view which was supposed to be lagoon view
Great variety of food ... very nice staff.
We were directed to a diving center a good long walk from there even though there were more nearer choices. The diving center German staff was clearly biased towards German tourists. Letting us wait and allowing other Germans to butt in line ahead of us, addressing us harshly while being super nice to Germans, I think Kempinski staff should make guests aware of choices and not direct the guests to one specific place.
I love everything about the property
