7.1 Good
Pros: The staff was really friendly and helpful they explained us what we could do there and recommended us some restaurants. Also explained and gave us a map with the town mentioning some interesting points to visit.
Cons: The breakfast was to repetitive and also very basic, no fresh products apart from the eggs. Our room was too noisy, we could hear all the guests having breakfast on the dinning room.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Juliana, the hostess was very kind, helped us planning our stay and gave recommendations. The location is great and very close to the plaza.
Cons: Some may consider it as a nice thing, but the room is very old fashioned, which we didn’t like. The surrounding was noisy during night, with people talking and crowing roosters
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Juliana was great, explained everything with a lot of patient. Great location
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We had a very nice and spacious room with two super big and comfortable beds and a balcony. Everything was very clean. Upon arrival we had nice introduction into possible tours and a map of salento with a list of restaurants. A dog and a cat were guardians of the house, both very cute. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the main plaza. A perfect choice; we would stay there again. The owner stored our luggage on the last day, so we could pick it up safely after a trip to Filandia. He also organized a taxi transfer at a fair price.
Cons: While cleaning the room, our luggage was moved and clothings moved to one place. We understand the owners effort, of keeping the room clean and orderly but we would have preferred that they not touched our personal belongings.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: - Location! 3 min walk from the main square and street - Lots of restaurants and bars; try the trout - Staff is super! Our balcony door was not working properly, but the staff fixed it immediately and upgraded us to another room - Breakfast basic but delicious
Cons: - Nothing

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the square
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view from the private balcony is great. The room is very spacious and the breakfast is brought to your room. So you can enjoy the breakfast from the balcony with a view.
7.9 Good
Pros: Nice facilities
Cons: The staff member, Andres, was a joke. I went to the desk late at night, and he was dead asleep. It took him several minutes to get himself DRESSED and answer the door. He was in a complete daze when I was trying to talk to him, so either he was sleeping or under the influence. During check in he made the process very strange. He came to my room and took a picture of my passport with his personal cell phone. I didn’t feel comfortable with him at all. He forgot to give me a key to my room - I had to go out of my way to ask for one. It’s a nice place, but hopefully you don’t have to deal with this ridiculous guy.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The view from the balcony was outstanding. It was great to wake up and look out the windows from the bed. The room was well-equipped with a kitchen. It had great character.
Cons: The staff, while nice, made some terrible decisions regarding our stay. We booked for two nights. The first night was great. And then, for no discernible reason, the staff made us change our room. They told us as we were going out for the day to hike. So we had to go back to our room to pack for the move before we could go for our hike so near you turn on the air conditioner just don't turn it on very low. The second room was identical to the first, so it made no sense for us to change. However, the second room had had its wood floor recently oiled. When we laid down in the bed, the smell of oil was overwhelming. We had to sleep with all windows and doors open during the night to avoid the noxious smell of the floor. These inconsiderate staff decisions spoiled what could have been a very nice stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to town/ good location. Quiet at night. Very friendly staff. Claudia, Sandra were so patient with us as we didn’t speak any Spanish and Andres brought us coffee every morning with a smile. Very clean. Good wi fi and view
Cons: The roosters around town starting early morning but it is not the hotel’s problem.

Pros: The location is perfect, it is just one street from the main square. It is very convenient for people that go to Salento to do different activities such as "Cocora Valley", Coffee farms, etc. The location is suitable because the main square is where the tourists take the transportation to different places around the coffee area. Pros: Hostel Tralala has a good location, just a block away from the plaza. We had a private room with a private bathroom, right off the kitchen, which was very comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and provided great information about Salento.
Cons: It was a bit noisy, being off one of the main roads that is used for transport in and out of Salento. But this is to be expected, being in a touristy town. As someone who travels frequently it did not bother me too much. It did not affect how I rated the hostel at all.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, easy to organise trips, clean and comfortable hostel.
Cons: There was no sink in the ensuite toilet and it was a little bit noisy.
6.7 Good

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was great plenty of self catering shops near by, butcher, bakery, fruits &veg etc. Short walking distance to the main square and local attractions. Great shower and WiFi worked well.
Cons: There was no dish detergent to wash up any plates in the kitchen a simple requirement all hostels (with kitchens) should have. The communal areas are not cleaned every day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the best hostels in my life! Everything is nice
6.7 Good
Pros: The curry was nice but too expensive for columbia.. Pretty touristic price.
Cons: There was one shower and toilet on the first floor. Especially the shower was pretty dirty and I never felt like it was cleaned during the day. No common kitchen or even a fridge to store food. It was not allowed to enter the kittchen, we even had to sign that. We only met the owner on the last day. Unfortunate because he was the only one speaking english.
6.3 Good
Pros: Great location. Easy to get anywhere in town and the main square is about a 5 minute walk. The staff here is also great. Very friendly and able to provide information about what to do in the area.
Cons: The main issue I had with my stay was the level of cleanliness of our room. When we entered the room the smell of mildew hit you right away. The room also looked like it had not been cleaned as there was a lot of hair all over the floors as well as on the wall of the shower. The bedding also looked unclean. We were here for three nights and the room was never cleaned and therefore our towels were never changed. Because of the moisture in the room, the towels never dried. There is also an open space in the bathroom, which leads to the outside that can’t get closed so we also constantly had flies and gnats inside of our room. The room was also very noisy and you could hear all conversations outside and the headboard was not actually attached to the bed so if you made any type of movement the headboard would bang against the wall which also made it difficult to sleep. Overall, this room felt very disgusting and I would never stay here again or recommend someone staying in this specific room. The hostel has great reviews so perhaps you may want to make sure you see which room you are staying in because we were very surprised and disappointed when we arrived.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Welcome was great. Owner of hostel such a nice guy, arrived n told us all the info we could possible need.
Cons: Nothing

Cons: could be cleaner stuffy air in the room not so many kitchen supplies
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for 3 nights in a private double. Room is clean and had soft bed (exceptional for Colombia
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is the best place I've stayed in 6 weeks in Colombia. Great welcome and friendly staff. The apartment is highly recommended as the kitchen is fully equipped and there's also hot water. Better to stay in one of the back rooms with no dogs barking or traffic noise. Comfortable sofas and balconies make it even better. Such great value for money and they even serve good curries!
Cons: Nothing at all!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room is big and clean, hot shower, good wifi when it’s working, kind staff.
Cons: Kitchen is in another building, not far, but it’s not well equipped, like no enough crockery, no soap ecc, and it’s not very clean, it’s greasy everywhere, they should improve it. The rest was super!

Cons: The initial information on booking.com was very misleading. When we arrived, our double room turned out to be a twin room with separate beds. The man who greeted us was unfriendly and continued to be so for our entire unpleasant stay. The beds were uncomfortable and the shower had no real hot water to speak of. As a result we decide to cut our stay short which cost us a small fortune in cancellation fees, however I've never been so happy to pay to leave somewhere in my life. I would definitely advise others to stay elsewhere.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, perfect owner and perfect view! After the moment we arrived we felt so welcome an the owner was so hospitable that we forgot about our 10 hour drive to Salento. The place is so beautiful and idyllic that everything became perfect. The rooms were unbelievably clean! The floor looked like a mirror. You will understand when you see it. The owner spoke perfect Englisch and explained everything there was to do in Salento. She recommended us the tours and even explained the time and day we should do it. The restaurants she recommended where really as good as she said they would be. Try the mix restaurant(don’t remember the name) we had a Jack Daniels beef burger it was awesome. Love from Colombia! In Medellin try the Marriott hotel and ask for a room on the 4th floor next to the pool!

Pros: Paula and her family are LOVELY. This is a family-owned finca and I had the great pleasure to share a lovely moment with the family :) The view is superb, at the top of Salento and yet only 5 min walk up from the main street. You feel like at home, room and bathroom are spacious, you can really settle in. Also WiFi worked pretty well! The garden is AMAZING! THOSE COLORS! And you can hear/see birds almost all day long. Perfect days as far as I'm concerned.
Cons: I would have liked some fruits to be included in the standard breakfast. Other than this, nothing to say :-)

Pros: Location is great. Has a kitchen so you can prepare your own breakfast. Staff were friendly but only spoke spanish
Cons: No breakfast so had to go looking for cafes early in the morning before the tours began.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location could not be better, staff does not speak proper English however they are extremely kind and helpfull. In this age of translation possibilities language is no problem whatsoever. After we checked out they looked after our bags for a full day free of charge. A great place overall!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The room was so clean and the beds were very comfortable. Altogether was really nice stay and would definitely recommend.
Cons: It was slightly noisy as it is located on the man square but we were informed about this prior to our arrival. Most of the music stops early enough anyway.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The woman who runs this place is a complete gem. She let my friend and I in at 6 a.m., well before our check in time, and already had beds made for us to pass out in after our overnight bus. She consistently cooked us breakfast after the closing time, and she kept the place very clean. Also, this shower might be the best at a hostel anywhere.
Cons: Only one bathroom for the shared hostel rooms (I think that means one for 6 or 7 people) so be prepared to hold your pee in.
7.1 Good
Pros: Nothing to shout about.
Cons: The dorm it's so small that it was almost impossible to put our backpacks into the room. Only one socket in the room, so it was impossible to charge our phones because we were 5 people in the room. Don't booked a bunk here.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Window of the room headed towards to the partio
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful green environment. Located nearby nice restaurants (Los 7 Mares has the best ceviche!!) and nearby the beach. Host is really helpful! Two ‘warnings’: be prepared for the mosquitos (this accommodation has good mosquito nets) and bring enough cash because there are no ATMs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very nice place, clean rooms and very comfortable beds. We arrived late (around 10), but the lady still prepared me a cup of hot water I asked for. Breakfast was nice and we liked our stay a lot !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect! It's a small family hostel with only few rooms. It's clean, comfortable, safe, host is great and breakfast too ;)) I would definitely come back.
7.9 Good
Pros: Clean room, hot shower and just a few minutes walk to the main sqaure
Cons: Owner was a little moody and Breakfast wasn't great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a beautiful typical house, our room was small for 2 people, but very clean and nice, we had hot water and wifi. The host, Mrs. Judith, very friendly and attentive, prepared us a delicious breakfast every morning.
Cons: Nothing really important, I would just say that WiFi is a bit slow.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. She really is a lovely woman and the house is very cheerful and authentic. The bed was comfortable. Reasonable WiFi and hot shower. Good location close enough to the main square but not too loud.
Cons: We had a very small room with no window which meant the room got very stuffy and we had to leave the door open to get fresh air. Very small double bed. Other rooms we saw were bigger and brighter though so perhaps we just got a bad room. Snell of damp in the room also. Not the cleanest in that we found hairs on the sheets and pillow cases and in the shower on check in. Breakfast was very basic, just eggs, bread and coffee. But flexible with timing which was helpful. Loud in the mornings with family and kids playing outside the door.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great shower!

Pros: The staff was really nice, and the location was perfect.
Cons: The wifi in our room was almost non-existent and there was a construction work outside, which was starting every morning from 7 am.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff, Mandy Services on offer (eG Touren , Trekking, massage, bike rental etc)
Cons: Cleaness, bed linen and sheets not smelling freshly, hard cushion
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We booked here for two nights but even stayed a third one. The location is perfect, Salento is not that big so you can walk everywhere. The staff is very friendly! Luckily they speak a little bit English. They offer a lot of activities here which are very easy to book and also very nice! We did the horsebackriding to the waterfalls, so beautifull! The breakfast is not much but everything you need (eggs, bit of fruit and a toast). If you want to cook yourself, there even is a kitchen at your disposal. The rooms are nice as well and they cleaned them every day. We had a great stay here!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This hostel is beautiful. Great location, great room, great price, friendly staff, awesome breakfast with an incredible view. There’s free coffee all day too! This hostel was really wonderful and highly recommended.
Cons: The only problem with my time here was the bed. It was ROCK hard. I generally prefer firm beds, but this one was like a wooden board. It was actually difficult for my husband and I to sleep. But I touched a bed in a different room and it was fine, so I think it depends on your individual room. My room was number 6.
7.5 Good
Pros: Salento is a great location for seeing coffee farms and touring the beautiful Cocora Valley. The concierge was very helpful with trekking and tour information. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was a good start for potential long day of exploring. La Floresta is nicely located a few minutes walk from the main square and approx. ten minutes from the bus station. This is a quiet hostel with more private rooms than dorms. A mix of single travelers and couples.
Cons: Only thing we noticed was that there were only two shared toilets and showers, so you may need to wait during busy morning or evening periods.

Pros: The garden is so beautiful and the staff really friendly. The shower was nice and hot water! Great view and location. 5 min Walk to the main Square with lots of Restaurants. Room was big but had some issues ...
Cons: our room, which was more expensive cause we booked a double private room (called double espresso), was unfortunately in the basement without any view or fresh air (there is a wall in front of the window) Plus it was kind of humid in the room all the time so not even the towels could dry ... so the Air in the room wasn’t that good ...
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly Staff, especially Christian and Maya. Social Hostel with a nice view. Good breakfast for 7000cop
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Well equipped kitchen and good location
Cons: Atmosphere could be better. Not enough chill out areas for such a big hostel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hostel was amazing!! It has been the best hostel we have experienced so far. We were in a private room which was large with nice decor and an excellent balcony view. The staff here are wonderful, Julian and Luis specifically were extremely friendly and helpful! The location from the city plaza is very accessible, the place is spotless clean and the views are epic. I would highly recommend staying here!

Cons: Just a cool thing to do: It would be a really good surprise for people when you can check in early as soon your bed is ready :) for example the nightbus travelers will highly appreciate

Pros: Breakfast is very good, staff is friendly and helpful.
Cons: I little bit expensive.
7.9 Good
Pros: The hostel was very clean, beds were comfy and the view was amazing. I enjoyed the free Spanish class and free yoga class.
Cons: Overpriced for what it was
9.2 Excellent
Pros: - spacious rooms - awesome views from some of the rooms - staff at counter were helpful
Cons: - went somewhere else for breakfast even though it was included in the price. - on the edge of Salento so quite a walk from/to bus station
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was always friendly and helpful. The breakfast and bar were always nice and a good way to meet others.
Cons: My room was next to a main road which had motorcycle, car, and pedestrian traffic almost constantly. The noise was pretty significant. If you're looking for a private room, try to get one with a balcony which faces the mountains and are not backed up to the street. Probably much quieter.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice view and fine breakfast
Cons: Beds weren’t too steady and small bathroom in the room

Pros: I got a great night sleep here! This was the best bed I have slept in since I've been in Colombia...and it has been 7 weeks now! No plastic covers on the bed! The staff is very helpful..friendly and will.practice Spanish if you want! Very peaceful...just far enough away from the main square to be quiet. It is cozy and comfortable! The only thing it is missing are hanmocks... but they have comfortable couches and a beautiful view from the balcony! I will be staying more nights!
Cons: I didnt like the construction noise across the street. Bit it didnt start until about 9am. And the dishes weren't done. I wish they had hammocks. But that is just my thing!
5.4 Okay
Pros: Nice staff
Cons: The whole place was a construction site. Roof terrace not finished, the beds were incredibly badly made structures with sharp nails sticking out of them (!). Similar conditions in the bathroom with no mirrors. Only one power plug for a four bedroom dorm. Almost no common areas to hang out
9.2 Excellent
Pros: -the woman at the reception had the best tips regarding trips in salento! (Eg to walk the hike valle de Cocora backwards)
Cons: -put a bell on the reception, so that one has not to wait a long time and screen “Hola” every time -bathrooms should be cleaner
10.0 Excellent
Pros: included breakfast and location in general is great. Very clean and I loved the art work / overall design
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The atmosphere was great ! Very helpful staff Easygoing hostel :) Breakfast bit expensive
Cons: Few things just to improve -the main door is hard to open -doesn’t have mirrors -extra electric point
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really snug Hotel in an excellent Location, quiet but really central with a great view. But the best is the Host Valeria. She helps you with everything and makes a delicious breakfast with her grandmother every morning.
4.6 Okay
Pros: The host Valeria is really nice and helpful, and she prepares a delicious breakfast! We could change our room for no extra charge because our room didn't have windows (although we had to change it again because there was another reservation). The location of hostel is good.
Cons: Well, we tried out 3 double rooms: Two of them didn't have any windows or any other kind of ventilation! Imagine the quality of the air in those rooms! One of these two had a little permanently closed window where you get some light (but also early in the morning due to lack of curtains), but the other one didn't have any natural light at all! I know that in the description of the room it doesn't say "have a window" (former reply of host), but seriously, thats kind of natural that a room has a window, no? The dormitory rooms also don't have windows. In all of the rooms we stayed in there was not a single mirror. I don't know if the vacuum cleaner was broke, but the hostel was not clean at all. In all the rooms there were plenty of hair on the floor. When I took a shower, the sink was full of hair so the water couldn't drain, so the whole floor was under water. The room with the balcony is really noisy (but we were fine with that, Valeria told us in advance). The hostel looks like work in progress because everything is unfinished (open cables, loose switches...) I really like the host but I can not recommend the hostel and I can not understand its high rating on booking.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Valeria is a great host. Her grandma Marta breakfast is a home feeling. I added days and trhey worked with me to make it possible. Location is very good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The general energy of the hostel was fabulous! I instantly felt at home. The art exhibition in the main hallway was sublime and provoking. The general design of the hostel was great too. The balcony has a beautiful view and is a lovely place to chill out. What really makes a place is the people: Valeria and her Abuela are absolute gems. Valeria is a superb host and a wonderful woman. Everything was easeful and great. The location is perfect- central but secluded and peaceful, also breakfast is yummy too. Highly recommend! If you are going to Salento and want to be central this is the place to stay.

Pros: Hotel was really nice, rooms were clean and comfortable. It is short walk to the main square, and from there you can get a jeep to take you to Cocora valley, coffee farms, etc.
Cons: There is nothing I didn't like in particular.
6.7 Good
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, good and central location, great restaurant nearby
Cons: Room and bed were really small, no air circulation because of a missing bathroom window, needed a fan to get a breeze into the room
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and clean hotel. Breakfast was very good. Super comfortable.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good position, close to the "attractions" but quiet. Good breakfast in a brand new restaurant. The restaurant is also a plus if you want an alternative to the lobby to relax and enjoy the view.
Cons: Rooms are clean but quite small. Can be noisy if other guests don't comply with the "silence after 10pm" policy. That is because many rooms face the lobby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely good location, the main plaza is just a couple of minutes away. The hotel’s restaurant was very good, best hotel breakfast we had in Colombia and the dinner menu was also very good. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Would definetely recommend!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and they changed the room of my Father-in-law without any problems so he didn´t have to climb the stairs.
Cons: They could have an elevator, my Father-in-law has back problems and had a hard time getting upstairs everyday to the fourth floor to get breakfast.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and a beautiful property! The staff was nice and willing to help, especially in the restaurant. The food was just the best!
Cons: All the water for the facility is heated via solar and stored on the roof. We LOVE the initiative! But we never had hot water and had to take cold showers... It's worth knowing that the temperature dips into the 14°-16°'C range in the evening in Salento. We wish they had had either a larger store of hot water or an alternative beat source for cloudy days...
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very confortable and the hall particularly is very pleasant

Cons: Everything was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The cleanliness, kind staff, and treatment were excellent. Would definitely recommend.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely kind and helpful. This hotel is not luxurious or fancy nor it has many amenities BUT the way the personnel treats the guests is really valuable. In particular, the reception lady YURANY; she is always ready and eager to help. The hotel is clean. You'll have a good stay if its a short one. You must be aware that the place does not have many amenities but it is good for resting.
Cons: The hotel subcontracts a bakery to offer breakfast to the guests. The word "service" at that bakery does not exist. Unfortunately, the terrible "service" those people offer might affect the hotel's reputation. Some rooms have thin walls so, if the people next door are noisy, you'll hear everything happening there.

Pros: Owner Liliana was very helpful and friendly. She had some great tips for us. The room was large enough and the grounds and views are spectacular. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: There were no cupboards or shelves in the room to store our belongings. The same for the bathroom. Some hooks or shelves would have been nice.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Such a great place Ver well located, not in the center but close to everything, allows you to pass a calm and relax time! The view is exceptional The owner and her family make you feel at home!
Cons: Wifi could be better in the rooms Maybe some towels for the guest would be nice
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Finca is the perfect place to stay in Salento. The views of the valley are absolutely stunning, pictures do not do it justice! We were greeted by our lovely host Liliana, who took the time and effort to talk us through all the places that are worthwhile seeing, both in Salento and the neighbouring area, which helped us a great deal. The hotel is located close to the town, which is either a short walk along the main road or 5 minutes in the local Willy’s taxis. Iliana recommended some great local spots, including cafe alma where you can enjoy coffee, cocktails and live music. Our room was clean and comfortable - slightly chilly at times with a some interruptions to the hot water but expected given the region. The food, cooked by Marta, was absolutely delicious and very generous portions. Thank you so much to both Iliana and Marta for making us feel so welcome and at home - it really made a big difference to our stay. Finca is a place we will most certainly recommend to our family and friends!
Cons: The only thing that would have made this place even better is more reliable hot water in the shower and potentially a warmer room though we appreciate it is all part of the experience of being in this region which gets very cold at night time!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic views from the property. Lilliana is the most welcoming and informative host. We really enjoyed our stay here comfortable beds and great breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
