7.9 Good
Cons: wifi connection could be better
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners, a married couple, were the kindest and most helpful I have ever experienced at a hotel or B&B. Other guests had been coming back six years in a row because they too liked the owners so much.
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location near old town. Friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: No Hotel parking...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Husband and wife team made us very welcome
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very courteous and helpful with lots of sightseeing tips. The breakfast room was lovely too.
Cons: The toilet cubicle inside the room needs to be a little bigger. Plus you hear everything if someone is using the toilet on the outside of the room. Its as if there is no wall! Not a big deal but not so nice!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is close to the old center. The very friendly lady gave us four hints for our dinner at local restaurants the first was already full but in the second we had fine dining. Breakfast with good enough coffee and orange juice.

7.9 Good
Pros: The hotel is charming and set in an exceptional location with breathtaking views all round. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Cons: A good job has been done to renovate this old historic abbey into a hotel but the bathrooms especially are showing signs of wear and could do with a remodel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place with beautiful views. Great value for money. The staff are amazing, all super friendly and very professional. Been here a few times and will be back soon for sure!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very enjoyable stay with clean and comfortable rooms. The swimming pool was amazing during the high temperatures of early July. Wonderful atmosphere in this old 16th-century converted Abbey. Great breakfasts on a lovely open terrace overlooking the area.
Cons: The evening meal was expensive for the amount of food served and it took a long time to get it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous. Staff, view, food and the whole site was amazing. Great experience. Kat x
Cons: Nothing
6.7 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, nice pool. Great lunch locatio, wonderful views.
Cons: Room could be cleaner, general site could be tidier. Better towels could be provided. For the money a complimentary bottle of wine in the room should be provided. Dinner menu too similar to lunch. For dinner we had the signature menu which had the same accompaniments as the lunch, food quality only fair. Walk from car park to reception difficult, no bell boy service offered. The should either offer a shuttle service to the town or have a reliable taxi account - they could not get me transport to the town in the evening.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Unbelievable views of Provence from our 20 X 30 foot terrace. Great location for visiting northern Provence. Incredibly friendly staff, and excellent restaurant. Huge bathroom with nice tub. Staff provided a fan to help cool down the bathroom on hot days
7.5 Good
Pros: The location of this hotel is outstanding. The swimming pool is large, tranquil and lovely.
Cons: Our bathroom had a very small cubicle for the toilet and it stank of urine. There was no need to isolate the toilet in this way but it meant that cleaners weren't able to counteract years of soiling. Really spoiled our stay. The air-condition unit in our room didn't work effectively. The staff were (mostly) arrogant and unhelpful.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Really good swimming pool.
Cons: Room very basic
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location great to go an view the Lavender fields north, Arles coliseum and many more attractions. quiet location with stunning view all the way to the Camargue! Super food and good value all round.
Cons: The blow dryer in the room Please just change for a hand blow dryer!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous hilltop views Authentic 16th century monastery and comfortable, clean rooms Very good evening dinner
Cons: Very basic breakfast buffet at 20 euros per person A continental breakfast option should be clearly offered.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakkfast was fantastic
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We loved the central location and the extremely helpful and accommodating staff. Some of our baggage was delayed from the airport and the staff went out of their way to help us arrange speedy delivery to the hotel. We also loved the breakfast in the leafy courtyard accompanied by a jazz soundtrack, the perfect way to start the day.
Cons: The hotel is currently in the process of being renovated, we were in the part which had not yet been updated, it was still lovely though and spotlessly clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very central, super clean with a lovely patio. Calm and practical with very kind staff.

Pros: comfortable bed and clean room! Patio really nice!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great little hotel. Perfectly situated in the town center on a quiet street.
Cons: Car park either in an relatively expensive and crowded garage or in a free but remote parking place.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were amazing: friendly, attentive and gracious. We’ve been there before and find the new owners to be as charming as Jean Pierre was 20 years ago. Small town vibe, mostly French tourists and lots of Roman sites to visit within 30 minutes and Avignon!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very nice and it was very clean and comfortable and suited our needs. The breakfast was fantastic loved the chocolates and the owner was very nice and cheerful too even though we didn't speak a common language.
Cons: A very small thing I thought the decor in our room was a bit tired but would still recommend this hotel
Chateau de la Barben - Salon-de-Provence - Building

8.6 Excellent (256 reviews)
C$ 224+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Château de la Barben in La Barben, you'll be in the historical district, just a 1-minute walk from Château de la Barben and 11 minutes by foot from Zoo Barben. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The castle is really unique, beautiful, interesting to explore (the guided tour is for free when you book a stay - you should take it) - and you basically live in a museum. The breakfast is very good. The locations is interesting, in a forest, next to a big zoo, not a long drive from lots of other attractions. Parking easy and near the entrance. Baby friendly - had a cot and a baby bath.
Cons: Our room felt neglected - all the door knobs were broken, many floor tiles broken and loose (which is very dangerous for small kids), toilet seat loose, etc. The place is big and ancient, so I imagine hard to maintain and renovate, but it really felt that they can take the effort and fix several things once in a while. Also, my husband left his cell phone somewhere during the guided tour, and when we tried to ask for the property staff's help (it is for sure there), it felt like they didn't make the extra effort to help and just said they don't see it, which ended our stay with a very bad taste.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Superb castle and surroundings. Very interesting tour with a knowledgeable and lively guide. Very friendly owners. Great family atmosphere and lovely breakfast. I would highly recommend.
Cons: Bar and restaurant would have been nice. However, no big deal as the owner Bertrand made a great recommendation to Tete Flourette.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Decors, real castle, breakfast, very nice hosts
Cons: Everything was perfect.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Stepping into history. Absolutely loved this castle. It is not luxury but lovely non the less. It is like a night in the museum. We will definitely come back again.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Held our wedding in the castle 4 years ago. The hosts are very kind and generous couple. Feel like coming back home every time.
Cons: Miss the home-cooked dinner
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This is a magnificent old castle with a wonderful history. Our rooms were large and very well appointed. The hosts were extremely pleasant and the breakfast was very good. The only negative is that there are 106 stairs to the guest rooms and there was no one to help us with our luggage, perhaps because we were staying at the end of the season. My husband and I were travelling with my sister and we had 3 large, heavy bags as well as hand luggage. so it was very difficult to manage the steps as we are senior citizens. Otherwise it is a beautiful place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place, amazing breakfast! This place is definitely must see. A wonderful place full of history
Cons: -
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a magical stay. The host/manager/owner was just the sweetest lady and the castle was far more than I imagined with an incredible history. We had our own private tour of the castle in English so we could learn more about the history of where we were staying. There aren’t many guests here so you really feel like you’re at home
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great experience to stay in an ancient and authentic castle. Warm welcome and excellent breakfast. The bedroom/bathroom were not "luxury" standard but that would not be expected for this type of accomodation. The inclusive tour of the castle was an added bonus.
7.9 Good
Pros: It’s an amazing castle with incredible history. Unfortunately we didn’t get to learn more about it as we don’t understand French. The Chateau is very well maintained and the garden is amazing.
Cons: Bear in mind this accommodation is one of the oldest castle in the region, so there might be slightly imperfect compared with the other modern hotel.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location. It's on one of the main streets leading into the town. Busy during the day but very, very quiet at night. There is secure parking available but it's limited. There is free parking in the street outside and it's perfectly safe. The rooms and bathrooms are small but spotlessly clean. The owners are lovely. The lady speaks excellent English, her husband less so. It's about a 10 minute walk to the old town and a plethora of good bars and restaurants. I've stayed at this hotel a number of times and never been disappointed.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Position
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Access was a nightmare because of local traffic restrictions which confused sat nav. Owner was delightful and assisted with oval Parking and an excellent suggestion for dinner. Noise from street was disruptive, ask for a back room. Clean but dated furnishings/bathroom but we were only there as a stopover after a late landing at Marseille.
Cons: For the price there are no complaints.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Easy walking distance to the old town, plenty of restaurants, bars and shops.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All, and the Reception was so friendly and help full!!

6.3 Good
Pros: World-standard non-expensive hotel, conveniently located to travel in Provence by car.
Cons: Free wi-fi did not work normally. Isolated location, so that add to the price 7 euro per person for breakfast.
6.0 Good
Pros: Easy to locate. Clean and comfortable accomadation. Breakfast was better than most budget priced hotels.
6.3 Good
Pros: A little difficult to find - it was not on our GPS. Pleasant welcome. Felt secure.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: This hotel was clean but still had an extremely stale smell. The cleaning staff seemed to be doing a good job for the property they were faced with.
Cons: This was an extremely depressing hotel. The room was not well-lit, was extremely small, and had very few amenities. The bathroom was also very small and the shower got at least half the bathroom floor wet when used. Although there was a heater and a thermostat, we could not make it work. There were no extra pillows and no extra blanket and both which were on the bed were very small. The one staff person we encountered was nice enough but spoke only French and, unlike other persons we met in Provence, did not attempt to understand what we were saying. Anyone who stays here should be aware that they will not be able to communicate at all unless they speak French. We have a couple of languages so we are almost always ok in other countries
3.4 Mediocre
Pros:
Cons: Room was very small and the bathroom was even smaller.
3.2 Mediocre
Pros: There is nothing special to appreciate about this hotel. It is good just if you want to' take a break bit. Just as a Motel and not as Hotel.
Cons: The position is really far from anyting interesting, the infrastructure is Made of premade aluminum modules covered by drywalls and really cheap the furnitures. The price is really inappropriate compared to the quality.

Pros: As expected for a Ibis hotel. Clean, comfortable, functional...
Cons: The check in at night is quite complicated ( automated)
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Value for money, clean and quite
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked a family room, which was very nice and big for Europe. The temperature was comfortable and it was also very clean.
Cons: The bathroom sink had a very bad leak so every time you would wash your hands, your feet would get a wash, which was uncomfortable to say the least.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Altough rooms were really small everything was really clean
Cons: When we checked in there was nobody at the desk so we had to check in through some kind of atm machine, we didn't know that we need to receive a code to get into the room or how to get the car parked inside, we tried to reach for the assistance line and nobody answered Absolutely no toiletries and some kind of weird french toilet paper that was coming piece by piece, so don't forget to bring your own stuff Even tho it had a breakfast, instead of having a standard continental breakfast it was rather a french interpretation of it, not my cup of tea The access road is not the one marked on the map when you use taxi mode by booking but a backside alley, it took us 20 minutes to get it right in the dark, french streets had some really poor public ilumination
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: Location of code entry box to exit the parking lot at night wasn't easy to spot.
6.7 Good
Cons: The room was too narrow

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We spend a very pleasant time in the Hotel de Provence and will be back again one day. Thank you for everything!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice welcoming and helpful landlady.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a great hotel. We arrived early, but were greeted with warmth and friendlyness. The hotel is a century old home that has been redone as a hotel, leaving most of the original house. It has wonderful character. Free, covered, secure parking is a short 5 minute walk. You can walk to the historic center where there are many bars and restaurants. The owners are wonderful, friendly and helpful. We will definately return.
Cons: We were very happy with everything. Wonderful stay.
7.9 Good
Pros: Close to the city center
Cons: Oldish look and feel
4.6 Okay
Cons: It was advertised as including balcony, which was our criteria when booking, but there wasn’t a balcony included and the host didn’t care or take any responsibility for the mistake. In addition, WiFi didn’t work nor did the fan they had put in the room. We asked for compensation, in terms of money or breakfast but she didn’t want to do anything about her mistake. She blamed everything on booking, other guests and so forth. This is not service at any level, regardless of price or location. Very bad.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A very “French” hotel with an air of past grandure that now needs updating a little.
Cons: Perhaps a larger bath towel and a little bit of renovation.

5.0 Okay
Pros: The room was very nice, sadly no kettle for making a cup of tea or coffee especially as it said on the coffee machine only one cup per person in the dinning room found this rather mean considering the cost of our stay . Other Hotels we stayed at on this visit suppled water and facilitys for extre drinks in our room.
Cons: Sadly there were only two members of staff that were freindly, the chamber maids were more frendly.Having being charged expensive cost for extras.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Parking
Cons: Air conditioning and less noise as on commercial estate. Hotel in need of a refurbishment and very expensive considering quality of rooms which are poky.
7.5 Good
Pros: The on-site restaurant was very good. We enjoyed our evening meal and breakfast.
Cons: The layout of lift and access via door to lobby was a little strange.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: good dinner clean room
Cons: english conversation where is trash can?
7.5 Good
Pros: Dinner and breakfast was good, as was the bed and pillows. The room was small but clean. The location is convient but very noisy if windows are not closed (see below). The waiter was very friendly and competent.
Cons: The AC worked at only one temperature, in spite of trying to make it a bit cooler. We've stayed here before in March of one year and had a problem sleeping because of the highway noise, which meant that we had to shut the windows (we usually leave our window slightly open for air). The AC doesn't work out of season so we couldn't get any air at all, which was very unpleasant. The young lady at our check out desk was correct but hardly interested in us, not even asking if we had a good stay or saying good-bye.
6.3 Good
Pros: The garden, the pool and the outdoor area to eat
Cons: The rooms are too small
6.3 Good
Cons: Staff seemed to dislike the English
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous buffet for evening meal. Staff very helpful.
7.1 Good
Pros: hotel ok. as usual in ibis
Cons: cleanliness. not really dirty, but in general it should be a bit cleaner...

Pros: Location in city center. Friendly receipt. Old style hotel (in line with its name). I enjoyed it, but it must be your taste. Good place inside to store my bike. Room and breakfast simple but OK.
Cons: Although not necessary for me an elevator would be handy. Some carpets on stairs a bit shabby, they may need renewal.
7.1 Good
Pros: Central Location easy access to everything, air con , decent bed
Cons: A little stuffy inside , decoration is a Little old style
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice and quiet location. Clean room and the comfortable bed. The WiFi was pretty fast and reliable.

Pros: The Campanile in Salon de Provence was a good choice for basic lodgings in the region. The room was on the small side, but the bed was comfortable. There were limited dining options within walking range, so we tried the restaurant for dinner, and were pleasantly surprised with the buffet, especially the desserts table, which had an amazing selection of goodies. The staff was helpful and accommodating for our bicycles, keeping them in a locked room overnight.
2.9 Mediocre
Cons: The first room we went in the shower was broken. We were moved to another room, however on our return from dinner that night we found it was overrun with ants. They were crawling up the table, bed, in the bathroom and all around the floor. The receptionist said there were no other rooms available and gave us some bug spray which killed the ants but left an awful chemical smell. He would not find us another hotel and instead swept up the ants, whilst telling us we were over exaggerating and had caused the chemical smell by using too much spray. At 11pm all other hotels nearby where fully booked so we had to endure the night in that room until the following day when we were moved to another room. Rooms are dirty and not worth the rate we paid for the stay. Only one staff member spoke English - I have no problem with this as we were after all in France but the website states ‘English speaking staff’. We were refunded for the first night only.
7.5 Good
Pros: Quiet location
Cons: Floor not clean. I spilled a little water on the floor and when I wiped it up with a white serviette it was filthy.
7.5 Good
Pros: Wifi connectivity
Cons: Nothing

6.3 Good
Pros: Very friendly staff and cat (not sure if he/she is part of the staff)
Cons: Not the fault of the hotel, but some of the customers there just don't care about others and would talk and play music just outside of their room during the night. It happened during my stay. I might be unlucky.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Tge receptionist Sabrina was really supernice and helpful
Cons: The room was really tiny,it smelled of smoke even if we had requested a non-smoking room because of my 6 month old baby and the light was not bright at all...it was a very dark, windowless room.the receptionist moved us to another one which had neon light but in general the hotel is quite sad.Better pay a bit more for a better room.
5.0 Okay
Pros: I reserved the room without any problems, so this part of the process was fine. Everything after that was pretty rubbish.
Cons: After reserving the room, I was not emailed a code for the gate to the carpark, which was locked when I arrived, as it was after 9pm. I called the number provided, but no one answered the phone. I had to wait for someone to come and key in the code for me. Then, after I received my door keycard from the automated machine, there was no map as to where I could find my room, so I had to call again and wait for someone to lead me right round the building to my room. The room was very basic and not that clean, but it was cheap. I will not use this hotel again though as I didn't feel that safe.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: There was a free parking which was useful
Cons: - The reception is closed at night so if you arrive by car you will get stuck at the parking door until you realise you have to go the check in machine and complete your check-in to receive the code to the gate... Would have been nice to send this information before. - The shower has absolutely no amenities (no hair dryer, shower gel, shampoo, body lotion... just some basic hand soap) - The toilet is almost in the shower - The hotel is old and doesnt feel clean at all
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Location, easy checking with the machines.
Cons: Air conditioning was not efficient and noisy. Room was not really clean. Over priced (77€, although it is high season, there must be a mistake!). Outside corridor which makes the room very humid. Very small room
6.3 Good
Pros: Quality/price was ok The hotel is very basic, but ok for one night stay (not more, of course)
Cons: The light in the room was quite weak The bathroom small Breakfast super basic
6.7 Good

6.3 Good
Pros: Value for money it isn’t bad . I expected better and there are a lot of rooms for the amount of toilets and showers. Luckily the hotel wasn’t full . The room was clean.
Cons: I didn’t have a very comfortable rest. There could be a few more bathrooms . A couple of times I went to the toilet , they were all being used . It’s ok for one night if you’re passing but I wouldn’t stay longer.
3.3 Mediocre
Cons: The only good thing is that it is cheap. Unfortunately another hotel cancelled on us and we had to find a quick alternative, late at night. The room was small and smelled like cigarettes. Very poor quality and standard. I would not stay again.
7.5 Good
Pros: No aircon but large fan made temperature bearable to sleep with sheet over legs. Also car happened to be right outside my room 102 so could pass baggage through window. Cappuccino good from machine.
Cons: Air conditioning would be better than fan. Credit or debit card number should identify booker on arrival as well as booking reference, to help check in.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Leaving
Cons: Broken aiirco. Whole room smelled of smoke. No ventilation. No staff in the evening. Dirty lavatories. Not recommended
