I had the pleasure of saying at this lovely hotel for 3 nights in early October 2019 at the total cost of around R$1750, including breakfast. I had a lovely bay-facing room which was beautifully appointed and spacious, and contained a huge, double king-size bed - a little strange to get used to. Excellent bathroom facilities, with various shower options, a double sink and bidet, with generous quality linen. The hotel is beautifully decorated in all respects. It is very well situated just off the main square of Pelourinho, overlooking the beautiful bay, within easy walking distance of most sights in that part of the city. The hotel has a small but delightful pool. Breakfasts were served by hand in the lovely restaurant, the only one which I experienced as a non-buffet, with large poritons of fruit, breads, juices, eggs and cakes. I had dinner one night at the hotel which was very good; there is an extensive and unusual menu, very reasonably priced.
The staff were in general very helpful and friendly - and ubiquitous, perhaps overly so as there were often more than the required number of people (sometimes 3 or 4) at reception - for some reason. I met Didier, and his partner, the owners, upon arrival, and the check-in was fast and efficient; with a free drink given on the lovely roof top terrace. There was unfortunately, toward the end of my stay, one major indiscretion committed by the staff in my case. I will not recount the details here in the hope that it was a once-off offence. The hotel management is free to ask me more about this if it wishes to do so (email@example.com). This is the only reason that I am not awarding the full 10/10 to this establishment.
Really friendly staff, great restaurant and facilities. The swimming pool area is really peaceful and great to head to for a few hours after you've explored the city. The hotel is also in a great location and on the doorstep of the old town.
Hotel has the perfect location to historic landmarks in the Pelourinho area , great restaurants , nightlife , souvenir stores . Most friendly staff & owner that go beyond to meet our needs , we felt so pampered , & felt safe throughout our stay . Beautiful, very clean hotel with the balcony terrace .
Casa Amerelindo was a splendid stay in Salvador. You are in the center of the most charming part of Pelourinho. It's like having front row seats to your anticipated show, outing, etc. Situated on a lovely street, with cute little shops, close to the square, to great restaurants and access to live music all day long. The staff were pros, kind and very attentive. As a solo traveler I felt at ease, very welcome and enjoyed my room. Highly recommend this part of town if you like being in the heart of things. And great breakfast!
The hotel is nice, clean and the staff friendly and helfull. The hotel has some reception staff able to speak english and spanish. My room was in the 3rt floor (number IX) had a confortable bed, with good quality of pillows. Tv and wifi are both available in all rooms. Good room service and a nice restaurant in the first floor. The hotel is located in a historical part of the city. If you prefer a beach hotel, you can stay in the modern part of the city and visit the old town in a half day tour. Churches and oldbulding are really nice and look like a small old Lisbon. The Salvador´s old town is safe enough taking the normal precautions. In many streets are police officers protecting tourists. You can take some private tours but is cheaper if you join to a "colective tour" with some of the many agencies located around the San Francisco Church and main square. I went to Guarajuba beach with "Cassi turismo". The bus was a modern and clean one and the service was cheap and basic but you have 2 or 3 hours alone to enjoy a beach day.
In my opinion the breakfast could be better. is enough to start the day but the coffe was served in a small thermo and was almost cold, and the bread was too soft. It could be far better if breakfast included free toasts and scrambled eggs for each guest.
With a stay at Casa do Amarelindo, you'll be centrally located in Salvador, steps from Cathedral of Salvador and within a 5-minute walk of Terreiro de Jesus. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. A roundtrip airport shuttle is available for a surcharge.
