Pros:The two gentleman working when we checked in were both very nice and helpful. Also, the location is within walking distance to Shelter Island. Unfortunately those are the only positive things I can say about the hotel.
Cons:The walls, door jams, and bathroom floor in the room were filthy and there were several flies and gnats flying around the room. The mattress felt like a rock and there were two large burn holes in the bedspread. I felt dirty just being in the room and cancelled my reservation immediately. Also, there were only about 15 underground parking spots reserved for guests and other than that you have to get lucky and find street parking I guess.

Pros:The updated rooms made a big difference.
Cons:The fridge, bathroom fan, and one of the lights did not work. There was a lot of construction next door so it was very noisy. Not the best location but everything is within a short driving distance.

Pros:Cabriilo Inn & Suites is in the process of updating. We were told our room had just been finished and we were the first to stay in it. It was absolutely pristine! They've replaced the carpet with wood or wood like floors. Either way: a big plus for asthma sufferers. The brand new bed was a little hard for me, but my husband loved it. Linens not luxury but adequate. Walls are thin if you're sensitive to that, but we had quiet, considerate neighbors. Basic but pristine and everything worked in our freshly updated room. The location was great - walking distance to the beautiful marina, restaurants. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
