Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lourdes was a fantastic host, so welcoming, friendly and helpful from the moment we met her. She explained everything about the guesthouse so well and helped us with local information about food, tours, transport, sights to see etc which really made our stay more enjoyable. She offered a good laundry service and the room was very clean. Would highly recommend staying here.
Cons: Everything was great, no complaints
Excellent 9.0
Pros: there was a shared kitchen with a fridge... There was hot water in the shower.... It was very close to town and the staff, a family, was very helpful with advice.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: -amazing hospitality -great and quick laundry Service -big and clean bathroom -we were given a very big room
Cons: -nothing
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Friendly helpful staff and can use a communal kitchen for fridge/cooking etc
Excellent 8.8
Pros: The Lady was very helpful
Cons: I had to kill 2 Cockroaches :(
Good 7.0
Pros: The hostess was very friendly and gave good suggestions. She made sure everything was ok and was quite chatty. The room was basic but had everything I needed. Everything is close in San Ignacio, so the guesthouse is in a good location within walking distance to the city centre but away of the busy main street, so you don't get as much noise.
Cons: The fact that there's not a window that shuts per se. It's just a mosquito net and a few glass frames, so the heat comes through during the day, and even with the fan on it sometimes felt like a sauna. Also, there's no sound insulation because of that, so you'll hear the church bells super loud at 6 a.m. and a lot of dogs barking, so wear earplugs.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Friendly host Great location
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Not far from the main street but worth the walk for the quiet evenings.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: This small property is tucked away and very private. Each room is like a small house with an amazing outdoor shower and private deck. The pool is wonderful and the perfect place to relax. The staff went above and beyond in every way.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The grounds, pool, and buildings were simply beautiful. The rooms were large, the beds comfortable, and amenities such as porches/lounge chairs/pool/showers were great. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful and offered several options for variety. The staff was also attentive, quick to more than adequately address any issue a guest might have. We were celebrating a milestone anniversary and wanted a special place to stay—we were not disappointed!
Cons: The resort is currently between having cable TV service and getting a streaming service, so during our visit there was no TV option. Also we had issue with the internet logging in and out, presumably due to the position of our room in the corner of the resort. Neither bothered us much because we were too busy having a great time.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Talk about luxury in the jungle - Ka'ana hits the mark! From the moment you drive up to the reception you are taken to a different place, a wonderful immersion into a relaxing resort experience. Check-in was easy and efficient. Room was cool, clean, relaxing - everything you would want. Mini bar + water in room or a short walk over to the restaurant and bar (which served the best breakfast I had of the entire trip). Pool area has resident iguanas for an authentic experience, not to mention the pool is beautiful itself and gets the right amount of both sun and shade during the day. Staff make this over the top, everyone is pleasant and it just elevates the experience. Short 10 minute drive into town and easy to get to. Would stay again!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Beautiful facilities, very comfortable.
Cons: The facilities are very far from down town and no free shuttle is provided. I would also recommend this hotel change their policies to adult only. There is a little pool in the the middle of hotel territory and I was not lucky because during my stay the family with 5 children arrived. They wanted to teach their little girl swimming but sounded like they wanted to drawn her. So 1,5h hours she screamed non stop - so all other guests relaxing at the pool were forced to leave - as the sound was unbearable. I tried to stay in my room but it didn't help (she has really strong voice - probably will become opera singer later) after 1,5h of this horror my patience run out and as I didn't want to become deaf I decided to leave for a downtown. Would have definitely preferred to relax at the pool and enjoy some glass of the wine in the restaurant though but was not possible.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Everything was tasty but the fry jack was the best
Cons: Maybe add a lil more option to the drinks and food menu
Excellent 10.0
Pros: A fabulous boutique hotel with a romantic ambiance. Very quiet and peaceful resort with a great restaurant and bar after a long day of exploring all that San Ignacio and surround areas have to offer.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I liked the greenery in and surrounding the resort. It was quiet and relaxing after hiking during the day
Excellent 10.0
Pros: So much to like at this resort! The most impressive thing about ka'ana is the customer service. It is second to none. If you go to Belize and are on the mainland you have to stay at Ka'ana.
Cons: No worries you like the whole experience

Excellent 10.0
Pros: I was expecting very basic space, but the hotel has such a fabulous, funky vibe, very charming! The rooms were very clean and spacious; the AC was very welcome. There was a communal kitchen to use and a rooftop that overlooks the city. A few blocks from the area of embarkation for many tours.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The room was very comfortable and clean, the staff super friendly, showed me places to go eat and for breakfast and assisted me in booking an airport shuttle
Cons: Internet was most working very well and there was no safe in the room
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The staff was very courteous and the services really catered to allowing guests a wonderful experience.
Cons: There was no cable tv for some reason.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Spacious room ( 5) and bathroom, good a/c, great roof terrace, lovely kitchen on Second floor for making breakfast.
Cons: Some traffic noise and the inevitable barking dogs. Bring earplugs!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: This hotel is spotless! Staff service is excellent. All were very helpful. The location is close to the downtown core of San Ignacio. Just a bit of a hill to reach it from downtown. Stairs are involved to reach your room. Location also offers Rum tasting, Marie Sharp hot sauce and jams tasting and a cooking class. The chef, William, took 6 of us through a four hour hands on local food cooking class complete with rum drinks and a wonderful Belizean dinner made collectively by our group under his guidance. It was fun and he is emailing the recipes to us all so we can try it at home! Highly recommend this activity!
Cons: The exterior of the building is a little worse for wear but it is the interior and the service that are important!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: You have to take the Rum Tasting Class with Luid.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Staff is great The restaurant is facing the jungle
Cons: Everything but the shower floor with black mold
Excellent 9.0
Pros: I loved that everyone was soooo nice and friendly!
Cons: I didnt like the complimentary items left in d room. For the price we paid, I expected more than just 4 bottles of water and coffee that wasn't tasty at all.
Good 7.0
Pros: Clean, comfortable beds, perfect location Lots of local restaurants near by, the market was not too far of a walk, few pharmacies in the area.
Cons: I had high hopes for this hotel because of the 4/5 star rating it has gotten in the past but was disappointed after checking in. There were no robes in the room, no q tips or cotton balls, nothing that would make you really feel like this is a 4 star hotel. There were not even any tissues to blow your nose in the room. It was very basic. Their breakfast starts at 7-7:30 which if you have a tour that early youll have issues with having a good breakfast. The dinner stops at 7pm which it’s fine because lots of local places are still open. Not sure paying extra for the balcony was really worth it. There were a lot of bugs out on the balcony at night so we were not able to take full advantage of it. I Wouldn’t get the room with the balcony again. The property is on top of a hill so if you have bad knees or issues with walking I wouldn’t suggest staying here unless you have a taxi or rental car. The tours they offer are overpriced. And the taxi to the airport is also extremely overpriced. We found our own taxi to airport and paid 100us dollars for 2 people.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The grounds are beautifully maintained. The room was spacious and it was nice to have a larger mini bar fridge.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The views from the rooms and the food
Excellent 10.0
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The food was so good. The restaurant is known for its steak but even the pizza was good. The staff is amazing, they somehow remember your name. It's incredible. The location is nice as its within walking distance to town & Cahal Pech Mayan Ruin the tour guide at the ruin was very informative. We stayed in the Regal room and it was very nice.
Cons: There are stairs everywhere so it wouldn't be a good location for anyone that has a hard time with stairs.
Excellent 9.3
Pros: The hotel was in a great location, which allowed us to explore the area very easily. It sits above the downtown area of San Ignacio, but it is still within walking distance. If you don't feel like walking, then taxis are cheap. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful and the facilities are very comfortable with a great pool and outdoor dining area.
Cons: The hotel was under construction, which definitely took away from the ambiance. We didn't loud experience any early morning construction, but the hotel wasn't looking its best.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Mystic River is amazing! The grounds are stunningly beautiful, the staff couldn’t be nicer or more attentive, or the day tours more exciting. It was so so so nice to get out of the coronavirus world as there are no cases in Belize. I am a single Mom traveling with my 16 year old. I felt safe the whole time. We will definitely return to Mystic River Resort!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff was great..exceptional property
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff are wonderful, very gracious and accommodating. The location is beautiful, you can eat breakfast with Macaus - how amazing is that? We had a wonderful time, I was honestly sorry we had to leave.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was fabulous.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I can’t say enough about the Excellent staff..Nicest people I’ve ever met!!! Beautiful cabins, loved the goats, hiking trails were wonderful, fun river activity, food at the restaurant was great!! I will definitely go back and stay for an entire week.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The property design is absolutely stunning. Cabins are beautiful and very clean; restaurant and bar overlooking the river was spectacular; food was very good. Staff is so so friendly and helpful. Hiking trails were well marked. The canoeing into town of San Ignacio was so peaceful and scenic.
Cons: There is nothing not to like about this place!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This property was a super huge surprise absolutely beautiful peaceful and relaxing.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Clean, helpful staff, safe
Cons: Did not stay long enough
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The resort feels like a personal jungle retreat. The free river tubing and canoeing were fun. On the property we went for jungle hikes, saw toucans, iguanas, and a monkey. We laid in hammocks over looking the river and ate AMAZING food prepared by the in house chef. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing (or romantic) getaway.
Cons: The property is higher up the hill on the river on a mostly unpaved road. This wasn’t a problem for us, and the staff arrange taxis up and down; it was just an unexpected cost for us.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The communication and location and restaurant and bar in fab location. We stayed in a cloud 9 suite which was quiet and private very modern and clean canoed down to san Ignacio, fab all drivers to and from were very good birds such as Acari toucans, Mot-Mots and Keel Billed Toucans, humming birds and more seen regularly around the property and on the bird table outside the restaurant orchids and planting around the gardens was lovely All the staff were friendly and helpful if a bit rushed on our first night when they were struggling a bit with the amount of people to look after - after that we had great service
Cons: You really are stuck in having to eat on site which makes it more expensive although the food was excellent apart from our first night when there was no room for us to eat in the restaurant so we had to eat in the bar and the food that night wasn’t great. But all other food was excellent. I also had hoped there might be yoga regularly to join in but you have to book and pay for a minimum of 4 people to do it
Excellent 8.0
Pros: It is well run. Staff is efficient and friendly. The grounds are well kept and beautiful.
Cons: The mosquito’s were intolerable. My son and I left covered in bites. It made our stay very challenging. Disappointed in the very limited options available to eat and found it over priced based on what we got. Having said that...they were very accommodating in making an effort to provide something for us as we are vegan.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Nice building that shows a lot of British influence from the time it was British Honduras. Had trouble with and the family owned property had staff on hand to take care of it.Felt very safe and was close to town. Walking distance to the market.
Cons: It was what I hoped it would be from the listing I saw on Booking. Had a lot of curb appeal. Would recommend for family or single travelers.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The upstairs veranda was wonderful for socializing with our group. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though basic. The staff was friendly and courteous. The morning coffee was great too.
Cons: The curtain on our room let the light in from the porch light and was harder to fall asleep. We couldn't find the switch. It finally went out about 2 am.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Bing and whole family great .walking distance to town
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location with wonderful surroundings. Close proximity to shops and restaurants and the staff were all super helpful. We had an amazing time.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: My stay started with a warm welcome from Bing and his daughter. After being installed in a comfortable, well furnished and cosily decorated room with a bar fridge, I relaxed on the balcony which runs around the upper floor. The house is beautifully colourful and surrounded by a lovely, rambling garden which attracts butterflies and birds (including hummingbirds). There are also chickens, ducks and a turkey wandering around between the trees and flowering shrubs. One of the permanent residents in the park chatted to Bing and me, gave me a taste of some of the produce from his veggie garden and I made friends with his very cute dog. It’s a very friendly and relaxed place. Bing is an expert tailor with what seems to be a thriving (but not noisy) business on the ground floor. He did some very good alterations for me very cheaply. He also gave me a lift to get to a colectivo taxi when I was heading for Guatemala. It is only a 10 minute walk to town with Hode’s Place on the way - a great place to eat and/or have a beer and the very good New French Bakery a little closer to town - over the road from the market where you can buy fresh produce. I did get caught in a very heavy downpour on the way back once but I had a poncho and hiking sandals so it was fun.
Cons: Nothing / Nada!!

Excellent 8.8
Pros: Staff were very nice and welcoming. Loved touring the grounds with all the gardens and lush scenery.

Pros: Wonderful staff, nice visiting during a nice breakfast.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Breakfast fresh and tasty every day. Staff very friendly. Manager Ricky very helpful with tours at ATM, Caracol, Tikal in Guatemala and more. Also adviseds about restaurants and things to do. Property very nice with beautiful gardens.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Clean, peaceful & the birds were amazing to watch!
Cons: The mattress was not as comfortable as it could’ve been, but we put down yoga mats and it was fine.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Contact with the staff, they were very sweet and provided loads of information about the place, history and local attractions. Also they were always ready to help with transportation... Breakfasts were awesome!
Good 6.0
Pros: Breakfast is indeed amazing, grounds are beautiful, close to the city and Places to visit.
Cons: WiFi is available only in the main house, the room is adjacent to another room and there’s no windows and the roof is thatched. You can hear the other people next to you, when they shower, talk, etc... it’s feels like camping more than a hotel room. You can hear the noise of the street and an annoying rooster that thinks morning starts at 4 am.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We had a wonderful stay at Casa del Caballo Blanco and highly recommend it! The property sits atop the town of San Ignacio and has an amazing view. The cabanas and property are meticulously maintained. The breakfast was fantastic and the service was outstanding in every respect. We enjoyed it tremendously and want to return to San Ignacio and stay here again.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The breakfast was delicious and nourishing. Ms Grace did a wonderful job preparing our meals. Ms Lidia was so very helpful as was Mr Ricky. I hope we can stop by again when we pass thru.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Very helpful and friendly staff, large rooms, great help in arranging tours and shuttle service.
Cons: It’s about a 20 minute walk from city center, but taxis are inexpensive.
Good 7.5
Pros: Nice place with 6 rooms only, very quiet except the third day when there was a outdoor concert from 9pm to 3am. Not hotel’s fault because nobody in the town could escape from the loud music in that night.
Cons: A lot of bugs. No wifi signal in guest rooms, have to connect wifi in the common room.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Really enjoyed our stay here. Would recommend that if you are a light sleeper or go to bed very early that you request a rear or side room as the noise from the street (and the bar across the street) is very noticeable. There is a pool available at a sister property, but you may need to ask. Feet from a bar and a block's walk from the best Belizean breakfast in the country - Pop's!
Cons: Street noise from below was pretty loud and made us wonder if the window was open. Night staff was great and would provide towels for the pool if requested. Day staff, not so much.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Wish we’d found this one earlier. It was everything we needed at a very affordable price. Best of all was the location - step out of the hotel upon the charming promenade street at the heart of San Ignacio.
Cons: Bring your own ice.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: I liked the bed.
Cons: Shower and sink are too small. Wifi is poor, we could not stream.

Okay 4.0
Cons: Intruding my room before the checking-out
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Magnificent View. Clean room , comfortable beds with Clean linens. Great food, awesome welcoming staff knowledgeable of the area and suggestions on place to sight see.
Cons: A SAFE DEPOSIT BOX would be nice to secure your valuables . WIFI. was Poor. No HANDLE on the bathroom door. A FRIDGE and Microwave would have been an Plus, to complement the room.
Okay 4.0
Pros: I did not have breakfast there, however I had supper the night I came in . The tacos and chicken wings were tasteless. The facility is outdated and needs an upgrade .
Cons: The tv only had three working channels all in Spanish. The bathroom wash basin leaked and we were on given one wash cloth for two ppl.
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: The views are great.
Cons: The room literally smells like urine. There were roaches climbing through the walls. I’m looking at the body of a dead bug on my floor right now. I was kept up all night by dogs barking and a rooster started making noise at 5 AM and did not stop until 8. The mattress is hard , thin sheets, and an itchy bed spread. A shade on the lamp is completely broken. There’s no fridge or phone in the room. Anything you need, you have to leave and go to the front desk to ask for. On a lesser note, the wifi is horrendous. It goes in and out constantly and the connection is weak at best. Luckily, I only stayed here one night. I won’t be returning. The urine smell is more than enough to keep me away. They market themselves as a resort which is highly misleading. It’s more like a roach motel on a hill, which is fine, especially given the price. They just need to set the right expectation.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I had the sushi with my daughter. We enjoyed the dragon roll and crunchy spicy salmon and some deserts.
Cons: Please don't view these comments as anything negative. The people that work here are all friendly and charismatic. I didn't mention any of this to the front desk because it was very late when we checked in and we checked out early. They didn't have a chance to solve any of these issue. The free wifi was unvailable after à certain number of guests logged on. IPs were unavilable. The cable TV was bad. The connection might have been faulty. The images on all channels were snowy. The bathroom has a step going in. I forgot at night time. The lights were out. I walked over and hit my toe walking in. The switch to turn on the light was about 4 feet inside so I had to go in further to turn on a light. This was at the middle of the night. I was half asleep. Walking out of the bathroom, half asleep still, I turned off the light, and stumbled out when I forgot about the step. I almost broke the mirror outside the bathroom door. The shower head was dripping and we couldn't turn it off. At dinner, I asked a team member about the spa opening hours, and he did not know about it. He directed us to the receptionist. I remember when checking in, the receptionist told us, but I forgot. It would be nice for me personally if everyone knew. I was ashamed to tell the receptionsist that I forgot. Hahaha Please don't turn away from this location because of the reasons that I wrote here. These are just some minor areas where I felt they could improve. I will also return.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Everything was super clean, very big room. Staff was SO friendly. Wifi is very fast in the hallway/kitchen which was great.
Cons: No hot water, but then again, I didn't have hot water anywhere I stayed in Belize.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Clean, accommodating, good for its price.
Excellent 8.0
Cons: good people.. reasonable price..
Okay 5.0
Pros: Location on main road. Decor the room had.
Cons: No secure parking was available. Bed linens didn't smell clean, had higher expectation. Shower didn't work and noisy exhaust fan in bathroom.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Great kitchen and super friendly staff. Very clean!
Cons: Busy road
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The proprieter Lucy was delightful, helpful. She gave us tour advice, arranged transportation, Restaurant advice. I like the Kitchen that was on the enclosed porch. I liked the privacy from the street. I liked the easy walking distance to what we wanted to see.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Perfect location. Lucy was extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful. She recommended restaurants and also assisted us with our tour pickup. Breakfast place right downstairs and many food options within short distance. Room was very clean, a/c worked great. Filtered Water provided & laundry. Staff was very friendly. I was very happy staying here.
Cons: Only if they had fresh coffee for the coffee pot, otherwise great.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Our stay was wonderful. Lucy is a great host and did everything she could to make our stay memorable. She scheduled our first tour. The facilities have cooking facilities available and she provides bottled water to her guests. She worried about us when we returned late from a tour. The location is in walking distance to most of Santa Elena and San Ignacio, no car necessary.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: A great place with an outstanding host!! Lucy really does go the extra mile to ensure you have everything! Property was clean with comfortable beds and hot showers!!
Okay 4.0
Cons: We went to check in and no one was available. The entire place was closed and locked. We ended up cancelling our reservation and went to a different resort.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: superb kept property, very convinient rooms, excellent bed quality, very engaged and polite personel, good tour excursions especially the horse riding
Cons: breakfast average ( poor fruit salad), food in general ok but soups are rediculous small
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Some of the things we loved about Chaa Creek were the food, the drinks, the guides and the ease and organization of excursions. Our family of 4 (kids age 9 and 11) did the ATM tour, Caves Branch tubing, Tikal, Xunantunich, and Barton Creek cave canoeing. The property is beautiful. It’s like what you picture when someone says “luxury jungle hideaway”
Cons: There wasn’t anything we didn’t like about the Lodge at Chaa Creek. It was an expensive splurge for us. But we feel that we got such a high level of service, quality, attention, comfort, and fun in return that it was worth the price tag.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Fantastic eco resort with multiple level$ of lodging. Tours can be pricey but, the level of care and attention to detail validates the cost. The on site activities are a wonderful added value. We also found the staff to be some of the best parts of our experience at Chaa Creek. Would definitely go back.
Cons: We eat a whole foods, plant based, vegan diet. Chaa Creek was extremely accommodating to our requests. Our one suggestion would be to educate the kitchen on the depth of what “whole foods, plant based” means. They would find a very receptive crowd and it would tie in nicely to their eco friendly message.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: In the momemt you walked in Darrel the manager made us feel welcomed and home - super friendly and helpful
Okay 5.0
Pros: Accomodating.
Cons: A lot of steps.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Staff was very friendly, knowable and willing to help. The view was good and enjoyed the welcome drinks upon arrival and the resort was well maintained.
Cons: Pillows were a uncomfortable and made for a poor sleep. Food took awhile to arrive after ordering it. (took approximately half hr before it arrived.)
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Quiet setting, comfortable beds great staff
Cons: Overall very good
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The pool was great, there was some locals (expat and local) that would come to enjoy it with you. Staff really friendly.
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: It was clean, organized and had amazing sunrise views.
Cons: Unfortunately the pool closes at 6pm. When you are doing yours all day it sucks not being able to enjoy it. So having the pool was pointless. The staff was ok. However, the way the handle disagreements and situations is unprofessional and it makes sure to prove their point only. A little far from main town and no available transportation. It was too much money just for a place to sleep.
