I'm surprised by some of the the poor reviews here, we had a lovely time! If people are expecting a five star hotel for a three star budget that's pretty unfair, we found the price fair and it's definitely the nicest three star we've stayed in. The hotel is in the most stunning location with full sea and old town views, lovely gardens and very well maintained throughout. We stayed in a sea view room (I'd recommend booking sea view) which was large, spotlessly clean, with a huge bed, good air con and kitchenette. The staff were very polite and helpful, booking our taxis, hire car, helping us with local recommendations etc. Other info: We stayed at the very end of the season (mid October) and the weather was still lovely in the mid 20s. There are a couple of very nice small beaches within 15 mins walking distance, a decent local supermarket and a couple of very nice restaurants locally too (Bambu and El Txoko 10 min walk, Michelin star Pan y Vino a 10 min taxi ride away). The town is very quiet with a few English bars but very little else, but if you're up for amazing views, relaxation, lovely walks etc this is great. 20 min taxi ride from the airport.
We had half board with our room. The breakfast was great, a well stocked buffet with lots of choice. Our evening meals were a little disappointing as the dinner was just a very basic three course meal (eg soup, meat and chips, dessert pots). However, I think this was due to the dinner buffet section was closed due to the hotel being very quiet at the end of the season with only a week before the winter closedown (maybe only ten other rooms were occupied) so there was a reduced service.
Everything was perfect! Double bed was King size!!! And the place was really romantic... ❤️Breakfast was really good and tasty.
Beautiful seaview, clean pool, very good breakfast
The room was not ready the first day at 14.00
The breakfast was fantastic. Plenty of choice, and a huge selection of hot and cold food. Fruit, pastries, eggs, breads, meat and cheese . . . truly you have your pick! The coffee was poor but I've found that to be normal for a resort-style breakfast. If you're on the look out for a good Menorcan coffee, I'd recommend stopping in at a cafe in the small beach town nearby, or even heading into Mahon.
Unfortunately we had a bad start to our stay. The bedroom we were allocated was in the centre of the resort, accessible by a stairwell which felt like a fire escape, and it had a very small view of the sea (when most of the apartments have an excellent clear view). The room smelt of damp, and of the bathroom. Our bed sheets had a small stain on them (these were promptly changed) but all in all we didn't get a good first impression. The safe in our room was also broken . . . many small annoyances which added up to disappointment. The staff were helpful-ish when we raised our concerns, but it wasn't until the second day when we tallied up all of the small annoyances that we were offered to change room. The second room we were given was MUCH better! It had a clear view directly out onto the water, and although it was exactly the same layout as our previous room, there was no unpleasant smell and it was clean. The safe though was again broken, and the fridge was leaking. It felt like everything was a little bit in need of TLC. The bathroom setup is tricky, since there's poor ventilation. The walls and floors get very wet with humidity. You can clear this up with a towel, but you have to request clean towels from reception or dry them outside your apartment (fine if it's good weather, but tricky if - like us - you have a few rainy days). Overall we found that the location of this resort was excellent and the breakfast was great. Had we been given the second room we had when we first checked in, we probably would have glazed over some of the annoyances we encountered, but overall the resort fell short of our expectations. It all felt a bit hap-hazard and the staff whilst polite, were not particularly warm or helpful. There are many wonderful places to stay in Menorca, and on balance I wouldn't recommend staying here.
