Overview
The Beachview Inn is located within steps of the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, CA. Just a two-minute walk to that popular attraction, it is also only a few minutes from the main beach, Santa Cruz Wharf, Pacific Avenue, and Coconut Grove. The Monterey Bay is ten minutes away, while the Pacific Garden Mall is roughly the same. Ocean Street is around 12 minutes on foot, and so too is the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum. The Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport is a 44-minute ride from the premises.
Visitors to the hotel enjoy a free continental breakfast at the start of each day and will be able to access the 24-hour front desk service at any time. There is a lounge with TV service, and plenty of free parking. Visitors also enjoy bike rentals nearby, as well as many activities options. The staff is multilingual and can speak both English and Spanish.
The 22 smoke-free rooms feature climate controls, unique design and décor, and large private bathrooms. They are stocked with linens and signature toiletries, with hair dryers and ironing boards available. The Beachview Inn lives up to that name and has beach views as well as easy access to the Santa Cruz waterfront, but is a good fit for travelers on business, too.

Pros (+) Kindness and smile of the lady at the front desk
Cons (-) The TV remote complicated and not user friendly. Hard to turn on and off or find right channels.
Pros (+) Quick walk to pier and boardwalk! Quiet hotel, super friendly front desk. We would stay again.

Cons (-) a little overpriced for what you received...however, it was the July 4th weekend
Pros (+) Staff was very friendly. Room had a comfy bed with 4 pillows, small but very clean bathroom, nice TV and a fridge and microwave. The room was very clean and smelled great.
Cons (-) There were a few stains on the chair and bed skirt. Location was a bit farther from the boardwalk than I though but that was my lack of knowledge about Santa Cruz. Still definitely in walking distance just up a hill and around a corner a bit.
Pros (+) The location is great! Just one block from the wharf and the beach. Parking available at the hotel so no need to pay for parking at the beach.
Cons (-) The parking lot of the hotel is on a steep hill. The hotel was older, but the bathrooms had newer tile.
Pros (+) It is barely a hop,skip, and jump from the wharf and beach. The staff was friendly and helpful. Next to an awesome pizza place. Clean, affordable and furniture was modern and new. Saved money by using the in room mini fridge and microwave for food. Fancy new door locks made the rooms feel very safe.
Cons (-) The water color art in the room was terrible, so not my style No hairdryer in the room, though I am sure I could have gotten one if I had asked. But I brought my own. No in-room coffee, so I could only get my java fix at the continental breakfast.
Pros (+) The staff were pleasant and welcoming, which I find most critical to feeling comfortable.
Cons (-) The bathroom felt very much enclosed with no window or mirror, which detracted from the room somewhat.
Pros (+) The location was great! Just a short walk to the beach and the wharf.
Pros (+) It is hard to park your car. But better than no place to park.
