The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Location was really good.
I did not like that the host`s little dog jumped up on the bed I was going to sleep in. ( I have a dog too, its just a no for me)
I had to pay in cash otherwise there was going to be a surcharge and this was not specified in the booking.com reservation. This is pretty annoying! If you are staying in a private room your experience is going to be great but the shared dorm is not that great as an experience. I'm saying so because I was sharing the room with a guy who (looks like) is living in the hostel and doing some volunteering there. I don't like that guests are sharing the dorm with people living and working there. I think they should have their own rooms. And I was the only guest in the room, apart from him. Also, I was struggling to write this comment because apart from this detail my experience has been fairly good BUT I had the impression this guy was having mental problems. I may be wrong (and maybe the hostel is going to correct me on this point). But it doesn't matter if he was having ot not mental issues. What it matters is my "impression" of him...that he was weird anyway. And here is my point: you as hostel have the right to assure a comfortable stay to your guests and if you know that this guy is "weird" you should't place him in the guests rooms.
Location and friendliness of the staff
Room is downstairs small and with no facilities while the shared bathroom at the first floor. Room is on -1 floor...
The room was very clean and the shower was wonderfully warm. There's an electric heater for winter, and it was such a blessing on a chilly winter night in Santiago. If you like to go out, don't worry it's very easy to get in late at night. I would absolutely stay here again.
Like many hostels, the building was originally one big house that has been subdivided into hostel rooms. Because of this, sound travels easily between falls, floors, and ceiling. I could easily hear conversations in the hall and some in another room, and was so self conscious of our floor squeaking over the rooms below.
One of the employees was quite nice, helping us with getting a cab and other stuff.
Without telling us, they charged us around 20% extra over the total amount. When I confronted the owner(?) she was quite rude. Pretty sure shes the one writing all those capslocky angry responses to bad reviews. I advice you to check those out, before staying here haha.
