9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great for family trip. Extremely considerate and friendly for kids.
Cons: Infrastructure is a bit old. Can do better at cleanliness.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable, Chinese-style and family-friendly hotel at Yalong Bay Beach. We were happy to enjoy the amenities of VIP status (probably because we had booked a deluxe family suite). For VIP guests, buffets for breakfast and for tea in the afternoon (with a good variety of fruits, Chinese dishes and sweets, coffee/tea/juices) were included and served in a separate dining room. The garden is nicely arranged, providing various pools, water slides, swings, hammocks. Direct access to the beach, it is allowed to swim in the ocean (at least in a designated area watched by a lifeguard). Hotel is located very near (5 min walk) to a market with Asian cuisine restaurants and Western fast food.
Cons: Don't expect the modern-stylish architecture of the Western hotels in the area. Don't expect fluent English by the staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I love Horizon Resort & Spa. This was my second stay here. Last year I was traveling with my two-year old and I absolutely loved it! I loved the location and the fact that everything you need in right there. Traveling alone with a toddler can be very challenging, but at Horizon it wasn't challenging at all. Everything we needed was just minutes (if not seconds) away: pools, playgrounds, the beach, even a small zoo! There's also a Starbucks across the street, a supermarket, McDonald's, KFC, a park for kids - all about five minutes away (on foot). My son and I played at the beach, at the pool or the playground, then had lunch, then he had his afternoon nap and after that we had lots of fun again. No need to travel by bus or taxi - all the fun is minutes away :) I highly recommend this place to people who travel a love or with kids - it's awesome! We are thinking about coming back again next year!
Cons: I really like Horizon Resort & Spa - it truly is an amazing place for travel with kids. One thing I'd like to see is more vegetarian and vegan options on their menu. I'm a vegan and my family members are vegetarian. If we order at a restaurant we have to pay for the meat even if we ask the waiters to make a certain dish without the meat. I think it would be great if there were vegan and vegetarian dishes or price adjustment. Why do I have to pay for meat if I ask to remove it? ;) If they could provide more vegan and vegetarian options we would not have to eat outside, we'd just eat right there at the restaurant.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: perfect place for the beautiful beach
Cons: time to do the check in very long (30 minutes), the quality of bathroom can be improved same breakfast every day no change ! when we arrive at 10:00 (breakfast closed at 10:30) already a lot of choice not available

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very efficient staff. Aquarium was fun! Hotel is on the beach. Reasonable food price setting. Many activities.
Cons: Beach is not for swimming but only for sunbathing. Difficult to communicate in English at outlets.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Space and style of the room, staff and service
Cons: Dinner choices and price level far too high for what we get in return
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast buffet is quite good, delicious. The beach is perfect. Can take perfect photos. The garden is very good with green green grass of home.. The big fising tank is excellent and interesting to people. Room's balcony is nice.. Near taxfree shop..
Cons: but washroom is a bit small... The lunch and dinner buffet is a bit expensive.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staffs are really friendly and helpful. Most of the rooms face the sea, and there are lots of facilities onsite including a gym
Cons: The pool bars aren’t open and most of the time it is very quite. It is more family kids friendly. The location is very far from everything else, but most restaurants can come and pick you up from the hotel so it’s not a huge issue

9.4 Excellent (3,940 reviews)
C$ 264+
Overview Reviews
Centrally located in Haitang Bay, it is 40 minutes from the airport and downtown Sanya and 5 minutes from the China Duty Free Complex. The Sanya EDITION is a new unique destination offering unexpected experiences and delivering simple sophistication to the next generation of luxury travelers. Water, a source of both vitality and serenity, defines the lush 50-acre property, which features a spectacular private “ocean.” Here, gondolas transport guests to an extraordinary floating restaurant and families enjoy beach-side cafes and cabanas. The sense of luxurious tranquility is established at the reception area, where a pool and live bamboo grove serve as a counterpoint to a curated art gallery displaying the work of renowned artists. All 506 guestrooms have ocean views, as do the collection of villas perched on a terraced hillside. At the meeting center, the separation between outside and inside disappears with teak-floored rooms and louvered wood panel walls opening onto a sunken courtyard and garden area.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great attention and beautiful resort. Every worker in the resort was incredibly kind. Different restaurants; one Chinese, one barbacoa over the sand, the Egret (more occidental), the market (buffet) and the Sky bar (for drinks). Al of them with an astonishing atmosphere. Various swimming pools, one for kids, another with sea water and one for swimming. In the Ocean (which is a huge swimming pool) you can’t swim, it’s only for sailing or practicing sports such as paddle surf. I would return without hesitating, it’s 100% a good choice.
6.7 Good
Cons: Check in and out take so long time. Disappointing service on breakfast arrangement
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is an absolute oasis. Devine architecture, great rooms, great facilities. A great hotel for families with so many activities available. The team at the hotel could not have been more friendly and accommodating - it started the moment we arrived until our departure. I strongly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.
Cons: Not a complaint about the property, but an overall observation of Sanya with limited services available outside the hotel. We like to contribute to the local community when travelling - restaurants, services etc and found them not readily available.
6.3 Good
Pros: - property and design - food quality food and beverage - overall customer service
Cons: Very few staff are able to communicate in English. Understand the hotel now caters for Chinese customers but I would expect for a 5* hotel that this would be better. In fact my precious stay last year was considerably better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The service is very fast and satisfying. The atmosphere and ambiance of the property was amazing.
Cons: Nothing.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff always put their smile on face, make me feel good.
Cons: Pool water is dirty
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast buffet is almost good and the staff is friendly. I already suggest their manager to use trolley to pickup the tableware instead of the wooden tray. It is good for staff's health. I receive the suprise from hotel to celebrate my 33th anniversary and we are so impressed for their arrangement and have a joyful experience at the hotel. Room service is good. The staff at the Reception desk is so nice. Night scene is memorable.
Cons: Only one thing need to be raised is " the swimming pool at the ground floor is not so tidy due to much sands and so salty, ha ha..!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Edition hotels always live up to their reputation! This place is incredible 5* service Spa experience was amazing View is unbelievable Room (loft suite) I could have stayed in all day Staff always willing to go the extra mile So clean! Design itself is worth visiting for
Cons: Nothing. At. All.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nothing:)
Cons: Beautiful hôtel!! Super design and view on the sea!!
8.3 Excellent
Cons: 前台checkin的时候,没有booking的订单。查了好久才有. Front desk receptionist can not find my order from booking that kill my time and draw me in an awkward situation. People around me can help themselves to think what kind of people make a internal order on booking!

7.5 Good
Pros: Although it boasts of a great garden setting, it lacks an intimate feeling and one gets the feeling of the large spans of land is too dispersed. Size alone is not necessarily an expression of magnificence.
Cons: Lack warmth of the place, visitors get the feeling of being very deserted even though one is supposed to enjoy the natural environment around the property.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Both!! Breakfast buffet was amazing!!
Cons: All was lovely
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful large room. Huge bathroom.
6.7 Good
Pros: Room was good
Cons: For such a good quality hotel there was absolutely NO English spoken. Not a single staff member you could speak to that understood I understand it’s a mainly Chinese resort but it’s not good that an English speaker cannot be understood No effort made for instance to put English names on the breakfast menu There were quite a lot of English speakers as the hotel was being used for the Clipper Round The World Yacht Race Should have been better planned
4.6 Okay
Pros: Conveniently located. Pool & restaurants were nice.
Cons: Bathroom smelled of sewage. Checkin was difficult due to language barriers. Very little English spoken or understood.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was so calm and comfortable.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Facilities are ok, and there’s plenty of vegetation
Cons: Rooms are so tacky and old, old TV, bathroom is not nice, nothing good about the rooms ! The staff speaks no English at all and are really bad are providing good service ! The breakfast buffet is not the best. Also, even thought there is a private beach, they keep it quite dirty. Service is so Chinese oriented! I will never stay at this hotel ever again, this is not a 5 star hotel at all !
7.9 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, nice quiet location
Cons: breakfast wasn't great and closed too early! the room is a little old, pool was dirty with leaves.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly, helpful and service minded staff! They did more than expected without speaking english. Quiet and calm hotel Excellent eastern breakfast. I think i gained 3 kg during our 11 days stay :) Excellent food in the restaurant. (did not try the western menu) Large and nice rooms Nice, quiet and beautiful surroundings Just some 100 meters to plenty of fantastic eastern restaurants (and a KFC not that excellent ...) Clean beach
Cons: No one speaks English. Should be nice if there were at least one English spoken person during normal working hours. One of the cleaners spoked excellent English, why don´t make her work in the reception area? Translation apps works ok but some times you need to discuss. Hard to get a taxi from the hotel. Sometimes we had to wait up to 45 min. (We learned much later that it is better to walk 50 m up the road and grab a taxi) If you want to jump in to the water the hotel beach is not the best. It´s very shallow
7.5 Good
Pros: The beach it is like heaven
Cons: Hhe food
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff went beyond their duties to ensure I had a comfortable stay. Unfortunately before arriving to the hotel, I felt quite unwell with food poisoning requiring hospitalisation. The manager Jordan Deng, accompanied me and my wife in the ambulance to the hotel. He also checked up on us several times and ensure that we were well looked after after we were discharged. Due to the language barrier and my current state, he helped my wife from any stress by taking control of the situation which he handled very well. The hotel is very lucky to have manager Jordan Deng in their team. This is the best service I've ever received in my many years of travel. The hotel was beautiful and clean as well, matching the perfect service they provided. We will definitely book here again solely due to the kindness of Jordan deng and his staff
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great and really luxurious :)
Cons: Breakfast is served until 10:30 but around 10 the waiters start telling the guests that they should hurry because it’s going to be over soon - it’s funny and irritating at the same time.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was clean, service was excellent, environment wasn’t rowdy. There were activities for kids that distracted them from making too much noise otherwise. Club Millesime was worth paying for. The lounge and food were of top quality. Overall a good resort to relax from the hectic pace of city life. Beds were clean and comfortable. I’m happy they provided me extra pillows during my stay.
Cons: Location is far from town, though that’s the major reason why the streets outside the hotel were calm. Security deposit of 8000 yuan is by far the most expensive I’ve encountered. You’ll get the amount back anyway as long as you keep the room in good condition, which is probably the exact reason the management enforced such a high amount.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We came the second time and had again a very nice and relaxing stay. Great selection of food at the breakfast buffet, kids club, two wonderful swimming pools with available deckchairs, lovely beach (cleaned every day). A special thank you to Marie Berthe and Adam Schlipf for attention to details and for taking care of us from the first to the last day of our stay.
7.1 Good
Pros: The room is clean, tidy and quiet. The neighbourhood is nice. The design of the bedroom is not bad.
Cons: We have booked a double-bed bedroom with sea view for our honeymoon but the hotel gave us a twin book room. In the end, the hotel staff arranged a double-bed bedroom for us but it is located on the first floor of the hotel meaning the sea view is not. It is very disappointing. The lady said they would arrange another room for us the next day but their follow-up was disorganised to an extend we couldn’t move to another room. It affected our itinerary. Management is not good in the hotel. Staff can be more helpful. The breakfast is below expectation. Food is ordinary with not many choices. It was extremely crowded and the staff couldn’t manage the queue effectively. It shows another management problem. Hope it can be improved.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel, everything was clean and the staff very nice.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location: 40 min from Sanya airport at Haitang Bay. Welcome/check-in: extremely friendly and service oriented staff with good command of English. Rooms: nice, spacious and clean, great bathroom and balcony with sofa and amazing view of Haitang Bay and the beautiful garden. Restaurants: Cuisine and Thai restaurant served delicious and fresh food. Bar: the bar area was cozy and Spa: great treatments in a wonderful and relaxing atmosphere. Gym: great equipment, extremely clean and inviting with view of the garden. Pools: two large pools with plenty of sunbeds. The water was nearly too warm to do serious swimming, though. Garden: it felt like walking through paradise with lush green plants, flowers and coconut trees as well as the beguiling scent of Frangipani trees. Beach: average, but with pretty soft sand, therefore, walking was quite exhausting. Swimming is not allowed due to drifts. To sum up: amazing hotel with excellent service and some of the kindest staff I ever met. Special thanks to Adam (F&B), Amy (Bar), Coco (Thai), Marie and Sophie (Reception) and Rony (Cuisine).
Cons: -
6.3 Good
Cons: While having a nap with our baby at 11am, we’ve been woke up by someone who rang our room bell, knocked, open the door and closed it right away. Our room was tidy up every day (which is a good point), but vacuum cleaner has been passed the whole week and we could find the dust and other little waste in front of our room door.
7.5 Good
Pros: Value, cleanliness, service, facilties
Cons: Western food selection. No poolside service for food or drinks
5.8 Okay
Pros: Wouldn't say 'like' but the pool and breakfast were okay. Garden was well manicured as well but didn't seem natural. Staffs were nice and met a few great interns from Nepal working there. A fresh cake with fruit platter for our anniversary was a nice gesture. Thank you.
Cons: There was virtually no acoustic insulation at the doors - and it was worse as our room was right across the lift lobby with hard stone floor. We took a family room (connected) and even with two doors closed between the rooms, everything could be heard at the other room. The hotel did try to fix the door but wasn't effective. This is supposed to be a non-smoking hotel but there were people smoking all over the hotel - lobby, lift lobby, swimming pool, restaurant (this gentleman thought his e-cigarette isn't a cigarette and neither the hotel staffs).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful resort. The only negative is that outside you have nothing to do and if you decide to go outside for food you find nothing. The dinner buffet its very expensive inside the hotel. All the other its excellent.I would reccomend it for 3 nights.
Cons: The buffet dinner should be cheaper.
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff was over and beyond friendly。Housekeeping services were rapid and the Noodle Bar provides simple snacks in the afternoon。The very reasonable priced kids summer camp is a must as it covers many activities that otherwise require higher fees. The Kids Playground staff were so attentive to the kids, I give them five stars for efforts! The breakfast was expansive, including ice cream!
Cons: The hotel older than expected. There were construction next around the hotel. The view from the 10th floor was obstructed and barren. Hotel is also undergoing ballroom renovation/ construction but there were no signs or areas corded off so sometimes you end up in the middle of a closed off area and have to find your barings back to the main lobby. There was also nothing within walking distance from the hotel to visit.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very clean and comfortable, everyone has a good trip here. Tim wang who is the staff of concierge was very nice, and helped us a lot.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The family pool.
Cons: The hotel team is nice but absolutely not professional, it took one hour to bring 2 quilts to our room. We made 3 calls for them to clean the room on the first day of stay. The beach is filled with rocks and not suit for the kids, none stayed more than 10 mins at the beach.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The service was excellent. Every staff member, from chefs in the restaurant, to gardeners you see attending plants, to chamber maids, concierge, everyone smiles at you and greets you. I certainly felt they try really hard to make your stay an excellent experience. We checked in with two young children. Our 'butler' Peter was very thoughtful and arranged to have two sets of childrens' dressing gowns, slippers and toiletries sent to the room. My mother wasn't aware that she had left her glasses in the room after check-out; the hotel house keeping department phoned me and Peter arranged to have it posted to us. He also went the extra mile and posted a postcard that I forgot in the room for us. Front desk staff Nimo was very polite during checking in/out. Also Allen from concierge very kindly showed us around the hotel and the facilities. My 2 year old was rather clinging during one breakfast and I hand to carry him; one of the chef (sorry I forgot his name; he is from Nepal) saw and offered to help me choose breakfast items and carried the plate back to our table. We also like the room size - it's very large, with excellent shower! The children really love the entertainers (a clown, a magician, and 'Snow White' who does face painting) who come around during breakfast and also the evening buffet times. The Clown is really good at balloon modeling: my kids asked for a pistol gun, a helicopter, a motorbike on different days and the Clown made all of them. Very impressive. The magician is also very good and kept the kids entertained. Wonderful swimming pools, especially the kids pool as it has a cover which provides much needed shade under the tropical sun. There is a kids club but we didn't use it - my kids just enjoyed the pool and wouldn't want to leave. My family (6 of us, three generations) stayed for 5 nights (two rooms) and everyone enjoyed the stay.
Cons: The ventilation in the toilet room could be improved. The beach was a bit disappointing - it goes deep very quickly, so the kids can't really build a sandcastle or any structure as it would either be washed away by waves, or the sand would be too dry for building. The water isn't of that superb quality either. Perhaps it's due to the time of the day we visited (it seems the tides were coming in), but there was some visible plastic bags/rubbish in the water, and loose seaweed, etc. We didn't go swimming in the sea as a result. The service in the Driftwood restaurant is good but is a bit below a restaurant you would expected for the price - at c.a. £25-£30 a course I would expect my cutlery would at least match the number of courses i ordered, but not here... They'd put the used knife and fork back on the table when they take the plate away. When my dessert came, I am still on the first set of knife and fork. :/ Also couple things on the (small) menu were not available. Guests from Britain would need to remember to request Breakfast tea and fresh milk. They do have a kettle and tea set in the room, in addition to a Coffee set tray. The housekeeping comes twice a day - both times a quick clean/tidy. There is a card in the room saying if towels don't need to be changed should be hang up. We did so, but still new towels supplied. On one occasion door bell rang at 8pm asking if we would require (the 2nd) house keeping service. I felt it was just a bit too much! I would prefer house keepers visit once daily. This is a five star hotel with very good service. A bit more culture awareness would make it more in line with international 5-star standards.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Facilities are good, bed is comfortable, the hotel room is clean, the swimming pool and beach are nice and the管家小菜is helpful and friendly. The overall environment is nice also.
Cons: All are good
7.5 Good
Pros: Cozy ambience. and got family rooms to house parents + 2 youths. With walk in access to pool.
Cons: I asked for the free rental of the pool floats kit, waited for an hr, followed up by a few phone calls! Only Then it came.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room is clean, large and standard
Cons: Everything Nice
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect butler service. St.Regis always exceed my expectations. Every staff here was considerable and polite. Moreover, the private beach is another an attractive place.
Cons: None
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nice and quite place, beautiful territory
Cons: Bad staff, checking-out was awful, I spent about an hour to settle my accounts. The same was when I wanted to book one more night of stay, they do not know their work at all. Service does not correspond the level of St. Regis
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good (although more oriental style, do not have ham and cheese, for example). The staff is also very good, always willing to help. The room was very comfortable.
Cons: Food is very expensive at the hotel restaurants, the beach was not so good (water with many plants), and the hotel pools do not have many options for kids (7-10 years) to play. I sent a message before arrival to request transfer from airport to hotel, did not receive any answer. Upon checking, hotel said breakfast was not included, although in the booking confirmation clearly stated breakfast was included. After showing the booking confirmation, the hotel agreed not to charge for breakfast.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The location is great, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and it has just the right amount of luxury (not too stiff). We felt like home
Cons: The sun mattresses on the sun beds was dirty, and should have been cleaned or changed long time ago. The pools was also not cleaned often enough and was always full of leaves, insects and sand.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent! Everything was great. We really had a good time at the swimming pool. The view was nice and the room condition and other facilties were so new and clean. The breakfast was good.
Cons: I hope there will be more options to choose from at the breakfast buffet. It's strange that there is not a fitness center. The swimming pool starts at 9 a.m., which is later compared to other common hotels. I couldn't work out in the early morning.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: WiFi... always need to reconnect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the Grand King Suite with Sea View and Executive Lounge access. The lounge has a specious terrace with beautiful view and quite good choice of dishes both during breakfast as well as evening happy hours (5-7pm). We were initially placed in the main building on lower floor with limited view. After requesting a change we were offered a higher floor in the South building which was very peaceful and had an excellent view. The hotel has good facilities, including a nice small aqua park style swimming pool for children, games room and kids club. It is right next to a small shopping center and withing 5 min. taxi drive from an aquarium and amusement park. The hotel grounds are well maintained and give the feel of an exotic garden with many beautiful types of plants. The staff is very nice and attentive. We would definitely stay there again.
5.8 Okay
Pros: We booked the Private King Pool and requested for the free extra bed in our booking. The bed really was ready in the room. The hotel is connected to the Arena 68 Mall which got a supermarket. There was special dining and spa package that essentially made the first CNY4000 spending 35% off.
Cons: 1) Local people liked to stand with you at check in and the staff didn't seem to realize this is invasion of privacy to non-local visitors. Check in staff also tried to sell us to pay CNY1000 extra a night for the room next door which got a bigger indoor room area but she failed to mention that the private pool was smaller in exchange. And interestingly after we got our room, we saw that both rooms next to us were still occupied... 2) lounge staff didn't seem to realize their customers had been waiting for 45 mins for food until we complained about it (though one of them did try out of his way to compensate for us) 3) Room and pools are much older looking compared to the official photos. Though at least the toilet flushing water did not smell like sewage and we were already very grateful... but I would be setting the expectation too low for Grand Hyatt... 4) Out of service arcade games. A bummer to the kids. Though the staff was very nice when handling these.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: nothing

Pros: Awesome hotel experience! Courteous staff, impeccable arrangements. Spacious room and suite for my large family. Wonderful sea facing bath tub. Lots of activities for children including fun pool, and sumptuous breakfast. Hotel is also near to a mall, within walkable distance, that offers many dining options and supermarkets.
Cons: Food at the Club Lounge is rather disappointing. No air conditioning too. It's not what I expected from Grand Hyatt standard for Executive Lounge.

Pros: Friendly staff. Great food. Nice pool for kids.
Cons: TV picture quality is not clear. Breakfast at fresh 8 have to queue.
6.7 Good
Pros: The team at the hotel were outstanding. We were in the executive club and the team were amazing. It’s hard to isolate individuals but a big call out to Mark, Yausap, Sally and Angus.
Cons: The property is in need of a refresh. Despite a room move we still struggled to get our room cool enough to sleep at night.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place, very beautiful view from the window. Calm and quiet. Very good BBQ on the beach, is delicious Italian restoran and good bar.
Cons: Seafood restaurant on the beach. The cannot play billiards in the evening at the bar, as there is no light above the table. It is standing in the dark. This is stupid ! In the evening include imitating sounds toads and frogs - very loud. There are no sunbeds on the beach, they are far from the ocean - this does not give a complete feeling of a beach holiday on the ocean.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Kind staff and comfortable conditions.
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The beach has the cleanest sand you can find in Sanya.
Cons: We went on an odd time when the typhoon was out.Hence couldnt loiter around
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Overall the stay at Ritz-Carlton Sanya, Yalong Bay was great as the room was really comfortable and the variety for breakfast buffet was exceptionally good! Would like to give compliments to the Front Desk Receptionists, Sam & Michael for their efficient and great service! Thankful for the wonderful stay :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: There is no way I could stay at Ritz-Carlton Premier Ocean View Room at this price in the world. The oriental style architecture is beautiful! The room is spacious, bathroom and bathtub are clean, all the personnel are kind, a wide selection of breakfast, beautiful gardens and swimming pools, and the beach is right in front of the hotel.
Cons: 1. I did have the ocean view from the room, but it was a little less than I expected. (pic attached) 2. There was nobody, literally nobody except a front desk manager speaks English! (I am not from an English spoken country) I guess Chineses are major customers there and the hotel does not need to recruit foreign customers. Translation app is must. 3. All the restaurants were pricey even though the foods were superb. 4. The time I stayed was August, but the restaurants and cafes did not provides ice water since Chinese people drink hot tea even in summer time. So I tipped waiting staff and housekeepers 5-10 Yuans (around $1-2), to get a ice bucket.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is excellent, breakfast buffet is one of the best we have ever had. Staff were super friendly and very helpful. The front desk manager was extremely helpful from the moment we arrived until our departure. Also our housekeeper, Jenny, was the most delightful person, friendly and hardworking. We treated ourselves to a couples massage which was also excellent! We enjoyed every moment and can’t recommend the resort enough! We definitely will come back again!
Cons: The only fault we can say is that we would have liked to try the various restaurants’ dinner menus but we felt the food was slightly overpriced.

Cons: I found my bathroom tissue box with mould all over the inside layer and mould ok tissues. It was gross!!!!!!!!!
7.1 Good
Pros: breadfast very nice.
Cons: too far from the city. no shuttle bus from airport to hotel . no shuttle bus between hotel and city
7.9 Good
Pros: - The pool areas are great - The beach next to the hotel is absolutely lovely! - Nice staff
Cons: - We had to que up for breakfast every day. We had to wait for around 10-15 minutes in line. - We had one of the private pool roms, but the sun was only on the terrace between 10 and12-13 (in July). If we had known this, we would never have paid that extra money for that room. Then we could just as well had one of the standard rooms. - One day a drone was flying over our terrace (by another hotel guest). Twice it was flying very close to our sun beds. We asssume it had a camera, and we were in our swimsuit. That was very uncomfortable. - The pool area on the roof was loaded with foto shoots all the time (!) (mostly hotel guests - in all ages...). We felt that we were in someones way all the time. Either in the walking area, or in the pool. The area is quite narrow, so it was hard not to be in the camera zone of someone - even though you try. This hotel certainly does not give you a 5 star experience.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A great new luxury hotel property and absolute beautiful beaches. Fantastic view to the ocean from the beautiful room. High standards in hospitality service, cleanliness, very quiet for relaxing at Rosewood Hotel. The food option is wide, I did enjoy very much the food at the "Chop House" Restaurant in the garden, a signature at Rosewood. The highlight is the fantastic breakfast buffet with many options in european, american and asian food. The hotel has the best swimming pool and a nice infinite pool on the rooftop. A secret destination with beautiful beaches and highly professional English speaking staff for foreign guests. The best of the best luxury resort hotel in Sanya at Hainan Island. I will definitely come back and can recommend this fantastic luxury hotel with high standards at Sanya. A secret tip, the room with balcony and whirlpool to the ocean view was absolute perfect for me. Thank you for the hospitality service which made my enjoyable stay in this beautiful hotel property. Thanks to the friendly staff and management at the Rosewood Hotel. Greetings from New York City!

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again .
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The view, the pools, the restaurants, just amazing designs.
Cons: Most of the personnel (Haï bar/infinity pool) does not communicate and is sleepy , behaves tired, no customer focus , no smile, does not consider customer request despite multiple purchases along our stay and it lasted for 4 Days!

It features a contemporary blend of oriental touches and lush tropical design. All the facilities and atmosphere make it a total romantic getaway for wedding and honeymoon.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The outdoor barbecue was wonderful and the waiter is polite and warm. One only criticism was empty plates were left on guest's table without any staff to clear it away. I needed to raise my hand asking a waiter to clear the table.
Cons: Swimming pool was full of dust and leaves making the environment disgusting. Housekeeping should clean all the leaves before the next guest moving in At around 1630 while my wife and I was celebrating our sweet moment at the pool, a female staff, without knocking the door, opened and entered for food delivering. It was so embarrassing to have an intruder suddenly broke in. I have told your staff that we are celebrating my wife's birthday on 18th Nov. However, the roses on bed showed anniversary which was of reckless arrangement. I have to ask my wife be patience taking photos waited until I changed the decoration back to Happy Birthday. The bath tub outside toilet was totally dirty and full of dust and leaves inside the tub. I cleaned it by myself before letting my wife to use it. I could only say the cleanliness of Banyan Tree in Sanya is far behind the acceptable standard in compare with Macau.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and good location. Loved villa and private pool.. food and drink are very nice
Cons: It’s good they have rest room for people have late flight but the room smells bad and not super clean.. like a motel room no longer used.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were super friendly. From the check-in, to the room service, to the airport drop-off. Very professional. Our service manager Jimmy and Chef Gao who looked after us ever day, deserve a special mention. Am amazing stay.
Cons: The property needs to be refreshed a little - not a surprise after operating almost 10 years in the tropics. The electrics - phone, aircon, but also the bathroom facilities could use a bit of love and attention. :-)
6.7 Good
Pros: Quiet and peaceful vibe with good privacy. Staff are all very well-trained and helpful. Sunset from the beach is astonishing.
Cons: Facilities are obviously too aged and not maintained well. The wooden furnitures got abraded. The image quality of TV is unbearable. Also the outdoor bathtub is full of fallen leaves and twigs which make it unusable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place, the villa is amazing and great stuff, we didn’t want to leave
6.3 Good
Pros: Great service, smiles everywhere and efficient.
Cons: The rooms were very old and I even managed to found spider webs.l and dust.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great design, excellent staff and delightful location.
Cons: Many of the fittings and facilities are worn; missing tiles in pool, door latches broken, probably in need of renovation and will be pristine again
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good with wide selection
Cons: The beach is not so nice
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was out anniversary and I asked for a simple decoration. The stuff was very helpful. There is a pool when u walked in the villa and surrounded with plants, benches on the site. There is also a massage pavilion next to the pool area. The room is quite big and bathroom is also very nice with a outdoor bath tub.
Cons: Facilities could be upgraded, it is a bit old. Although still clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Amazon location, amazing beach, humongous private pool at the villa, stunning looking villa, 300sqm just for 2 people, amazing service despite the language barrier. Jimmy and Spencer went above and beyond their responsibility to address every need of ours. The food is spectacular. Chef cooked little surprised for me for breakfast every morning. Nothing was ever a problem. It's a paradise and great value for money if u're from Western countries.
Cons: That we only had 8 nights. Little inconsistency in turn down service.

Pros: İt ıs a modern and comfortable hotel The rooms facing the see, especially on the high floors are very good. It is near by to the airport ,which is a plus. The large swimming pool is excellent. İts shortcomings are, the staff are very poor in English and the hotel rates are rather expensive during the Chines New Year period . So, during the late March it is a good bargain. As to the food, breakfasts are good, the barbecue dinners, especially on seafood area are not according to western taste. Very few western guests majority are Chines and some Russiansöö

Pros: Recommended by my friend, we chose this hotel. We are satisfied.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We didn't expect too much, but we liked staying here, we discovered many local food, some of them are really good, we tried Qingbuliang on street,we tried steamed bun at the exit of the alley. We went to beach which is closed to hotel, also to other beaches of the city.

Pros: The service is very enthusiastic, the room is also very spacious and bright, not only very warm bed also very soft, the toilet is relatively clean, no smell, the facilities are very complete, like one.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We went through an alley, finally found the hotel, not expect high, so we do think it is a right choice. The beach close by, not as good as Yalong Bay and Dadonghai, consumption level is lower than Dadonghai. Many local favour can be found, bus stop just at the seaside.
7.1 Good
Pros: Moderately clean and quiet hotel. The hotel was easy to find! The beach is not too far away. There was no common language, but things were managed and managed by the translator. Price right.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A booth just at the entrance, coconut water fairly sweet, it also supplies Chinese breakfast, travellers must try, local style. About 5 min. walk to beach. People dancing and singing in the evening by seaside. Couldn't find western restaurants, we had several meals at KFC and Pizzahut.
7.9 Good
Pros: Walk distance from the beach, large room for the price we paid
Cons: The property is a bit hard to find because it's in a small side street. The shower was really basic, the whole floor got wet when showering.

Pros: The room is very comfortable, but if you are looking for a quiet location, this hotel is not the best choice. The square cross the road from the hotel is very noisy from 6am in the morning until about 10pm at the night.

Pros: De deluxe suite seems great but very hard bed and we must Clean our glasses Evert day. Great swimmingpool.

Cons: Nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Pros: It is in a prime location with only one road separating it from the sea. They are very attentive to your requests. Wonderful panorama, opposite the Phönix towers. Air climate works well.Dearly the staff, the Personal manager even picked up the phone at home if we had a question. He's a super empathetic man. Supermarket, restaurants, shopping nearby. Next time I would change this hotel!
Cons: Breakfast is very Chinese, I think there is no demand for European flavors, we missed the cheese very much! This is a 5* Hotel! Internet no worked, Gmail, Messenger, Facebook, Viber, Google unattainable, only self Chinnese System :WeChat!

Pros: Perfect position, perfect food opportunity, perfect staff...
Cons: Just to need, quiet nobody’s speaking english. Just a little. But it’s not a problem, because they was able to understand, and let understand themselves.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location right on the beach - the room with the beach view was worth it! Quite a busy street though, so you definitely get some street noise coming into the room. Check in took a little while as the staff seemed a bit unorganised, but were overall friendly. Only met two staff members that spoke a bit of English, some come prepared with Google translate.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location and amazing view, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable and spacious room.
Cons: English menu in hotel restaurants would be very helpful.

Pros: Great hotel. Breakfast is really good 5 star breakfast. Nice and clean swimming pool outside. Overall impression is really good. Great sea view from balcony. Local supermarket is over the corner. Recommended
Cons: TV needs russian speaking channels.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location, view, friendly staff
Cons: Staff, although friendly and went out of their way to try to assist, few spoke any or good English. The two best English speaking workers were Dave, a bellman from Nepal and a young man from Zhengzhou, also a bellman. Disappointed that when I checked out at 6 am in the morning, the young lady at the reception desk did not know any English.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was amazing, the whole atmosphere was great! Thanks to Simon and John
Cons: The food and clearly the staff
7.1 Good
Pros: Comfortable Hotel with nice view to the beach. Easy access to the beach and close to the Airport. Some shopping stores, mall and restaurants are available around at the hotel.
Cons: Breakfast buffet is just okay, but nothing special. Low service in the hotel restaurant. Noisy beach in the evening. I can recommend only for a few days staying (short term) in the city and for the first time visit in Sanya. For more relaxing and great quality food, you have more option at Yalong bay area. Hospitality service and food option is poor at the hotel.
5.4 Okay
Pros: I paid for a suite. I was given a room on 7 floor. It was a gloomy, badly lighted room and smell bad. There was a coy operating opposite my room. I protested and they change to a twin-room at the 18 floor. It was much better, good view and airy. I was told that they WILL not return the price differential even if this is a cheaper room. But the Dy Duty manager tried to resolve the issue on the second day by offering some discount and freebies within his limited authority. I was not happy but at least he tried!
Cons: I paid for a suite. I book it through Booking.com. Their suite is not worth the value. This hotel is certainly aged and old.
5.4 Okay
Cons: For a Sheraton, quality should be better
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great selection at breakfast; both Asian and international selection available; the location of the hotel is really good, close to the beach- which is really the best beach around Sanya- and easy access to public transport too.
Cons: we liked everything :)
