The hotel has a beautiful location looking out a meadow to the castles in the distance. The rooms are well decorated and comfortable ( except no air conditioning unless you have a suite). The dinner was really well done. Lovely open celinged restaurant with beautiful light fixtures and oustadingly innovative local cuisine. Included breakfast was equally lovely with huge tea selection eggs cooked to order and lots of fresh fruit, breads and meats. The staff could not do enough to help both prior to and during our stay. The set up our entry into both casteles which made it a breeze to get in and allowed ample time to see both castles.
No air conditioners in regular roms.
Swimming pool and sauna facilities were very good. The view to the mountains and castles were stunning.
Infestation of flys in the bedroom and occasionally the restaurant, probably due to the neibouring farm ? Buffet breakfast was a bit of a shambles, guests wandering around searching for food and drink is not acceptable for such an expensive hotel. I would expect a premium priced hotel to have air conditioning when paying upwards of £300 per night
Great location and spacious suite with views to the castles
Our room was very noisy being situated above the spa and next to the pool so not very private. The spa doors were banging constantly. We were given an upgraded room because it was the only room left but not what we wanted even though we had booked 5 months ago so not happy about that
The spa and other facilities are fantastic. The view is amazing. The whole environment was perfect.
The breakfast and dinner were great, the lunch not so much.
The location was perfect for visiting the castles, a less than 10 minutes drive. The hotel has a cut-off time for castle tickets, so if you miss it, you can drive up to the visitor center when it opens, get tickets and go back for breakfast. The breakfast is first class, you can eat with views of the castle. There is a 2 Star Michelin restaurant at the hotel, but it is closed for a summer break. The other restaurant is truly wonderful, and you won’t feel deprived.
I wished I had stayed longer to take advantage of all the spa options. After climbing to all the castles it would have been nice to book a massage and facial. The room was small (I did get one of the smaller ones), but the property is so amazing, you are not going to want to stay in your room.
