Pros:Beautiful, picturesque little town at the head of a fjord, and without the Hotel Aldan, it would be a lesser place. They've been creative in taking old buildings and converting them into lodging and restaurant (which was perhaps the best feature with some excellent dining).
Cons:The place needs updating, seems rather worn. The wireless internet hardly worked most of the time. When the Costa Fortuna cruise ship docked and disgorged its thousands, it looked like a scene from The Walking Dead: zombie-like people aimlessly standing and strolling outside the hotel with the goal of connecting to its unrestricted wifi. For those of us who were paying guests, that degraded our access.
