This historic 1916 Saint Marys Riverview Hotel is located opposite Lang's Marina and Saint Marys River. Features include a restaurant, garden with a terrace, and free WiFi. A cable TV with the HBO® channel and an en suite are standard in all Riverview Hotel rooms. Extras include plantation-style shutters and a wardrobe. Some rooms have a sofa and a view of the patio. Pros:The ambiance is unique and staff is friendly. Pets on site is always a PLUS in my book, too. A unique hotel in a wonderful location. Perfect for our visit.
Cons:No room access to the veranda and air conditioning needs time to get the room to a comfortable level.
Pros:Neat old historical building about 100 year old tabby structure. Basic , but sufficient cold continental breakfast. Decent coffee with real half n half. Fresh banana. Nice local character owners. Nice couple. Funny barmaid called me sugar a lot :-).
Cons:Whole place just needs a good cleaning. Long past heyday. Lobby dirty and just cluttered with junk they think is cute, like old typewriters. Funny: they have a big display of a poster board copied article of how they were going to remodel the old hotel. Maybe they did, 20 years ago. But, if I weren't going to clean and maintain, I would have that feature article so prominent in the lobby. But, owner seems to be neglecting seriously even the basics of cleaning and maintaining. Worst area was bathroom: broken ceramic tile in the area where you stand in front of the sink, not good, sharp edges and sharp points ther to watch for while barefoot in bathroom. This was in room 15. Also, ridiculous hole in wall from lack of door stop, needs a coat of paint. Bathroom exhaust fan inoperable.
