Good rate on a football weekend

Not greeted or welcomed at front desk. Just asked "last name?" We arrived on a night when it was 38 degrees outside. The heater in the room did not work. I asked the front desk to be switched to a room with a working heater, she said no. I asked why not, she said they were sold out. I went to 3 websites that all allowed me to book a reservation at the hotel that night, so they were not booked up. I told her "it's very cold outside and in the room, what can I do?" She responded with "You're welcome to check out." It was 10:30 at night and we had been driving all day. We were tired but her attitude and lack of assistance or empathy truly made us consider leaving. But it was a football weekend and all alternatives were twice the price, so it was it wasn't an easy choice to make. I requested some blankets, she said "you can come get them." When I did go to get them, all she gave us were 3 sheets and no blankets. When I asked why she said that's all she had. Either this is a poorly run hotel with limited resources or they have one lazy front desk person with a bad attitude who makes their entire property look bad. I believe it is the latter. Due to the way we were treated and the experience we had, I would only give this hotel a 2 out of 10, only because it was slightly better than pulling into a rest area and sleeping in the car. I typically only right positive reviews because I feel that good service deserves to be rewarded. Unfortunately, this could not be one of those reviews.

Desperate need of updating & repair.

Front desk staff was always friendly & helpful!

It felt dirty, but that could have been because it was so run down & smelled. Flat pillows, poor vacuum job, wallpaper peeling, no microwave, smelled like b.o. We used an essential oil diffuser & bought a Scentsy at the nearby Wal-Mart. Much better! The first day, our bed wasn't even made, but we left valuable stuff out on accident and it was placed nicely on end table- so the staff is honest! After that service was good, and staff was always friendly at front desk. Twice we got back to the room to find or keys no longer worked. Not fun after a long day and hands full of stuff. But again, staff was friendly!

My room had roaches. I killed them and showed them to the staff. The cleanliness was horrible.

Location is good and breakfast was good

Very shady place!!! Dirty beds with hair in them. The couch bed had hair and dirt on the fold out bed, like someone years it befor us and was not cleaned

This place would be a great place to spend Halloween. If the horrible customer service doesn't spook you, wait until you get into the rooms where you find roaches, beetles, & spiders to welcome you to this desolate hotel "across the tracks." After moving 4 times in the first hour on arrival, I found you're guaranteed to have hair in your sheets, Bugs in your room, flimsy mattresses with subpar linens, & mildew or Smoky rooms. The initial front desk representative appeared to come out from a back room from sleeping, while he just started handing me multiple room keys to try. He said there's a chance a different housekeeper might be better. After the fourth room resulted in large bugs in refrigerator & multiple long black hairs on more than 1 pillow in same room I brought them down to front desk to see if he could believe what I was seeing. Never got a call in 3 days after going to front desk multiple times. They never would address my ruined night. On last night I found a giant beetle/Roach in bathroom & brown spider in my clothing. Very obvious they don't pay for pest control & they're not laundering their linens. I'd venture to say that employees may even be using rooms and/or housekeeping is re-making beds without changing bedding. The last day a psychologically defunct and defensive woman berated me for being one hour late past checkout time as I waited for both the GM to call & for my ride to pickup me up for airport. In 30 years in lodging, I've never seen a place like the Baymont in Tallahassee. The deranged lunatic working the counter (Keyesha?) had the audacity to charge me for a late checkout after ruining my first night shuffling me from room to room in this deteriorating, mismanaged, insect-infested Horror show of a hotel. Instead of informing me why the GM could not call me all weekend, she welcomed me to the lobby as I checked out to tell me she had blacklisted me from ever returning to the hotel by calling her corporate office. It was like OJ Simpson screaming at the Goldman family letting them know they would never receive a signed football from him...NO WORDS!!! This place belongs on a Reality Show. It's beyond description...Beware & Stay away...unless it's Halloween or April Fools.

What didn't I like...I didn't like the fact that they could have refunded every dime & this hotel's guest experience could make one feel regret that they would never want to return not just to the establishment, but the entire City. Worst business experience all year and worst hotel experience of my life.
