Breakfast was cold with very few options. Even boiled eggs were cold.
Room should be bigger. Staff should speak English. Breakfast definitely needs improvement and should have warm options.
It's very close to Okachimachi Station, which means I had access to Yamanote and subway trains and was within walking distance to many interesting places in and around Ueno. It's close to eating places, convenience stores, and department stores, but it was not noisy so my sleep was comfortable. The bed was nice and the bedroom was not too cramped. The breakfast was nice even though it's quite light. The bread combination changed every day - macha cheese was my favourite!
I was told that I might not be in the room from 10 AM to 4 PM, but it's only a minor convenience forcing me to find more activities until 4 PM before I can go back and have some rest (before going out again).
The breakfast was a cold one. Very few options - just 2-3 variety of rolls/croissants, boiled (but COLD) eggs with juice and coffee.
Room was very small. Breakfast options were exactly same on all 3 days, very few options and ONLY COLD breakfast. For checking out late by just one hour, the hotel was demanding JPY 1,200. That's not justified.
The location was awesome. It was very close to metro and shopping centres.
The staff was very helpful but English level was not good so it was difficult to communicate. The room was a bit smaller than expected.
The staff is really nice, although their English is not so good, so it was a little difficult, but they were really helpfull. The hotell is really clean, and you can take a new pajamas every evening, air-conditioning is great. The breakfast is nice, although it consists of different kind of pastry (croissants, etc), juice, boiled eggs and coffee. The location is great, the subway, the station that is connected with the airport, the zoo and Ueno park are very close. The whole block around is great for walking and sightseeing especially at night.
I wish the was something like a yogurt or cereal for breakfast, although sometimes it was quite crowded during the breakfast, barely any place to sit. The bathroom was tiny, which was ok for me, but I can't imagine taller people being comfortable there. Also the check-in time is quite late (4 pm) and the check-out is quite early (10 am).
With a stay at R&B Hotel Ueno Hirokoji in Tokyo (Ueno), you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Ueno Park and Ameya-Yokochō. Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and a 24-hour front desk.
