Paying extra for parking.
- The place smells as soon as you walk in and the carpets massively need updating. - They don’t mention parking costs on booking.com but they charge £5. - They insist on a damage deposit on arrival of £50 and I didn’t receive it back into my account until 2 days after I checked out. This also made me feel anxious about getting the money back as the room is not in a great state anyway and wondered what they’d try to blame on me. As a result I even fixed the sliding shower doors which weren’t even attached the the rails. The breakfast is a pretty terrible excuse for a continental, I appreciate they only cater for a small number or people but it’s still fairly poor. The male owner is strange and appeared as though he could be very difficult to guests, the lady seems nice. You’d definitely be better off staying in a nearby guest house for the same price or just spending slightly more and staying in one of the larger hotels.
Everything 100% spot on. Stayed here many times, never an issue.
Can't improve on perfection !!
I understand its a family run hotel but we were disturbed by the noise of the cleaning staff and the screaming young children in the morning, who to my understanding were the proprieters grand children, noise from loud heating pipework was constant and although the rooms were satisfactory the reception area had an old damp smell and the breakfast area being under the main building was very very cold, wont be staying again in a hurry
