Our biggest concern when booking a hotel for Venice was finding a hotel near the bus (vaporetti) to avoid dragging the suitcases. We could not have asked for a better location than hotel Paganelli. The stop San Marco/San Zaccaria was 200m from the hotel. The room was clean and spacious.
The room smelled weird but I would guess that all the hotels in Venice smell the same due to the humidity from the water.
Very clean and beautiful hotel. Recently renovated a year ago. Personable and friendly Multi-lingual speaking staff. Convenient access to San Marco Square, Oltrex, other shopping, eating, and sightseeing places.
Would have been a great time saver for us if they knew of multiple various local restaurants, times open, and locations to suggest to guests for consideration. The one (and only) place they did suggest had great food and somewhat formal service and was easy to find.
We stayed in a "superior" double room in the main building on 11th October. The room was small, dark and terribly cold. The bathroom was also cold. We asked for some heating, but the manager refused and argued that the heating will be switched on only end of October. So we froze horribly the whole night. The hotel should control the heating by the temperature and not by the calendar date.
that its right bang opp st mark/st Zaccaria water taxi stop.........it cant get more central than this hotel............it is so convenient you step out and your in the madness.........tourist / restaurant / water taxis / st marks square is just 5 mins walking distance.....i also stayed in another hotel inside but the experience here was just too good.........their breakfast was also excellent....we got one of the sea view suites which overlooks the port.....its really amazing........the size of the rooms were really good......i recommend this hotel to anyone........ya but i stayed in the new wing which is on the st marks port...............
there was this Chinese guy (i think he was the night manager)after 9.00 pm........he was rude and had too much attitude.......the whole hotel staff was so nice but only this guy had a big problem......
Hotel Paganelli is a historic building once serving as a convent in the heart of Venice. Transformed into a hotel in the 1800s, it is mentioned in great literary works and is adjacent to the San Zaccaria Church, Bridge of Sighs and the Ducal Palace. The Basilica San Marco is just steps away, as is the bell tower of San Marco and its piazza below. The Church of San Giorgio Maggiore, the Rialto Bridge and La Fenice are all within a half of a mile, as is the Scuola Grande di San Rocco. The Venice Santa Lucia Train Station, is a mile away and the San Zaccaria Vaporetto Stop is adjacent to the hotel. The Venice Marco Polo Airport is less than five miles away.
The location alone makes the hotel a great choice for the traveler eager to enjoy the most popular part of Venice, however, it also has an abundance of amenities and services to ensure it provides an unforgettable stay. There is an annex offering amazing views, free Wi-Fi, 24 hour front desk, a business service center, concierge desk, luggage hold, a popular restaurant and bar, a breakfast room, and the amazing terrace. Breakfast is included and features delicious local specialties.
The rooms are exquisitely decorated, and each is unique. They all feature hot beverage stations, large ensuite baths, most have a view or a terrace, direct dial phones, satellite TV, in-room safe, climate controls, and room service.
Hotel Paganelli is an ideal option leisure travelers to Venice and places them in the heart of the city’s most famous neighborhoods. Walk to iconic landmarks and savor a unique experience of the city from this premium hotel.
